He suggested removing the implants. A photo from a scan showed where an implant had pierced my sinus. When he removed the implants it was quite evident. He cleaned and stitched the opening closed and rebuilt bone. I am so excited. Everyone was so caring, and helpful. 10 years ago I had the most uncomfortable dental exam and cleaning of my life at zen in which they…read morehad to completely redo my X-rays and then the cleaning itself was very painful and the hygienist was condescending. I had no cavities or any real problems but she still managed to project horror at the state of my perfectly fine teeth. At check out the office assistant told me I needed to book a 4 appointment round of scaling and root planing--which was not discussed during my visit other than the doctor saying "you could develop gum disease" not that there were any signs of it at the time. I booked the appointments but it didn't feel right. Why do invasive procedures on healthy gums? I canceled the appointments and didn't go back. 10 years later I'm extremely happy because I have no gum disease and haven't had as much as a cavity since that appointment. Sometimes invasive dental work can cause much more harm than good if not needed. And why be so condescending about a perfectly healthy mouth? None of it makes sense. I would advise everyone to steer clear of this practice unless they have made major changes.

He immediately scheduled me for an appointment the next day, on a Friday (a day his office is not normally open!). When I arrived for my appointment Dr. Costanza personally greeted me at the door and had my crown back in and seated perfectly in less than a half hour. I was impressed by how he made me feel like I wasn't imposing on his day off, even though I knew I was! Dr. Costanza has such a calm and gentle personality that he makes you feel relaxed and comfortable, even when you are having major work done. This is good for me, since I would rather do almost anything much riskier, like skydiving or wrestling alligators, than have my teeth drilled on.
