This is a cute mom and pop establishment......it is VERY small inside ......and not like it appears on social media......it is on a corner of a side street and is a store front with an apartment building on top.... it is SMALL. NEVERTHELESS I enjoyed my experience.....I went with my 6 year old daughter whi has now labeled this as one of her favorite places......the waitstaff was extremely pleasant food was good and served in no time.......I personally did not find the place to be over priced at all. I will say this is a spot you to go for a quick bite...munchies....not a "meal"..... I will most definitely return when in the area....

The plan was to drop my daughter off to meet her friends. The three out of four of us ordered. She was awaiting their arrival for a new table (we sat at a four-top). A booth opened and I requested it for my daughter and her friends. The couple at the table behind us were moved to the booth as the girls stood by our four-top. After an extended conversation with the.Manager , the girls were moved to the booth. My spouse felt the Cuban could have been more flavorful. My younger daughter enjoyed the milkshake (not up to Sugar Factory) but enjoyable. Communication is key!

I tired the Oxtail with rice & peas absolutely delicious full of flavors. The meat was tender.

The girls that work there very polite and helpful with explaining the menu and some things I didn't see on yelp pictures.. The food portions was great really favorable well prepared. Nice little comfortable place. I know it's an upgraded fast food place but the steak &rice oxtail & rice sooo.. good. Great wings sauces and great garlic wings, potato tots.

It was my first time going to Jenavies Cafe and I must say that I left very satisfied. The food was amazing, but their milkshake was even better ! Their menu offers different Hispanic food like Patacón, Cuban sandwich, fritura, yaroa, bistec, empanadas, tacos and so much more. I don't remember but they have about 5 or 6 different milkshakes which all look yummy ! The place isn't huge, but I highly recommend people to make their way if you find yourself by Throgneck. It is a little pricey, but so worth it.

I love this place! This is your typical small cafe where you can get solid food for lunch or dinner. It definitely can get busy here. There are about a handful of tables here. You can order at the counter and sit down too. At least I could the last time I was there. They have all sorts of food here. Everything I had was so good. I enjoyed it a lot. I had the mac and cheese, dominican sliders and buffalo wings. Every city needs a place like Jenavies cafe where you can get really good food and feel at home. I would definitely come back. My only issues are that it's very tight inside and parking is almost impossible to find regularly. Other than that, I highly recommend you stop in this hidden gem in the Bronx.

We had the $44 platter and this is what it looks like. The food is amazingly delicious and fulfilling. Their milkshakes is to die for u can get it to go or to stay. Their interior is super unique and picture worthy. The bathroom is even cute and u know thats hard to say

I just happened to be walking by and decided to try it. This place is a combination of a heart attack and a sugar coma. I truly don't know what I was getting, I just simply wanted thee milkshakes. I only took one taste and knew that i wouldn't be able to finish it, the guilt of having a sugar over those was overwhelming. I really think their concept is great, but what about adding some basic shakes to the menu? Some basic shakes with a couple of optional add ons. I also order some chicken tenders with bacon fries...very tasty, but seriously greasy!! So 3 shakes and a chicken tender and two pastelitos total was $78!!!! I was in absolute shock... The only good thing about my experience was the young lady that took my order. She was very attentive and polite. I truly love supporting local businesses but I don't think I will ever go back, unnecessarily pricey and the menu does provide healthier choices.

    Famous Platter

We ordered one of the shareable platters. It had wings, sliders, pastelitos, and fries. Everything was delicious! The platter brought enough food to eat there and take home. The waiter was very attentive and pleasant during our dining experience. They also feature a beautiful sunroom in the back of the restaurant where they host private events! Definitely worth checking this place out.

It was a vibe, music and service was on point! The food was so delicious My Family Loved it and we will definitely be back

Had this place bookmarked for months and decided to visit when PB said he wanted a fancy milkshake. I ordered the steak and onions and he had the fries chicken chunks. Everything was delicious. I dis ask for steak sauce b4 I tasted my food but immediately understood why they didn't have any... it's not needed at all. I only ate half my plate because I had to save room for my Reese's lover milkshake. I'm super glad I did. There were Reese's pieces, whipped cream, a pretzel and tons of candy bits in the shake itself. Yum yum YUM!

    Platter #4

My boyfriend and I have been dying to try this place and it did NOT disappoint! We ordered platter #4 along with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch and cookies and cream milkshakes. The portions were huge and well worth the price. The waitress was so polite and the wait time was super short. 10/10 recommend. We will be back!

Nice place! Was not crowded . Food was ok, nothing to brag about.. we mainly came for the shakes which are awesome they are not exactly as they picture them though. Might come back just for the shakes .

Not worth it at all. We drove up to NY just to eat dinner. I can say they accommodated us even though we walked in right at closing which is why they get two stars other than that NO. The service horrible. They took over 15 minutes to even say hi or acknowledge us once we sat. Then we get our order taken and it took awhile to come out. When we got our food it was typical and nothing special. They forgot the cheese for the cheese fries and we asked them for some and they said we don't have anymore. Even though this was part of our order. We asked for other items which they forgot to give us and the young boy looked at us crazy and just kept walking. No apology no nothing for the bad service, messing up our order, and quality. We finally got our shakes which where made to go without asking us and it was so plain and something I could make at home. Never again!

To my surprised, I was very surprised with their hospitality and their food. The host, owner went around to see how is everything going. What is outstanding they gave us an order not what we requested and did acknowledge right away and replaced and let us have the order at no charge. This is how a business is run , so my hat goes off , I as a business owner. The food was delicious and their drinks were outstanding.Had the following: 1: DomiRiqueno Pastelon, 2: Pork Mofngo 3: Bangkok Calamari 4: Home made Churros. There were other dishes we had as well. The food was blended well and seasoned. I as well as my neighbors enjoyed their excellent cuisine. I like to thank the staff, especially ISAMAL, our waitress for her kindness, and professionalism in making sure we were satisfied with their service and food and special thanks goes out to the Owner Sandra for making sure her staff took care of us and we were satisfied. I definitely will come back again. I normally don't go to restaurants in The Bronx because their food and service are not up to my standards. I travel a lot and enjoy giving reviews on restaurants. We decided to sit inside because it was a bit hot outside and inside were several empty two seater tables. A large party of more than 15ppl were seated, a table of 3ppl, and several couples at other tables. The place is tastefully decorated with a beautiful 3D aesthetic pleasing wall mural of a woman's face. 2 bathrooms were neat and clean. Food was delicious, and presentation was awesome. We ordered their sampler that comes in a 3 tier serving tray: coconut shrimp, calamari, chicken and steak skewers, wings(the only thing that didn't seem fresh and did not taste like sweet Thai chili-and we eat sweet Thai chili a lot -that's how I know), mini bite size various meat/seafood empanadas with the outer dough having a normal red or black coloring. The 3 chimi sliders were very tasty and the guacamole and yaniqueque -flat dough that is deep fried and crispy. Services although excellent seemed very slow. It is not uncommon to find service slower when there are less people in the establishment because staff will go about setting up their station, cleaning without noticing that people are waiting for water, ready to order food or drink or asking for the check. I empathized with a woman who I noticed sat by herself, slightly annoyed to wait to place an order her great looking fish-she had to signal a server to come take her order--by this time there are still several empty tables. Overall, because the food was great, I will come back again.

The vibes were amazing from start to finish: great music (major shoutout to the DJ), perfect lighting, and a lively, fun atmosphere that made the night feel special. The food was fantastic and the portions were huge -- seriously, two or three people could've eaten from my plate alone. I ordered the pernil with rice and beans, plus a variety appetizer platter. The pork was juicy (though I do wish the skin was a little crispier), the beans were flavorful, and both the garlic and chimichurri sauces were top-notch. The potato salad was okay, but overall, the meal delivered big flavor and big portions. Since it was my birthday, the team surprised me with a birthday flan and tres leches dessert plate that the restaurant provided. It was the perfect ending -- sweet, creamy, and delicious. The birthday celebration itself was incredible; you truly feel like a superstar. Between the LED signs, the DJ shoutouts, and your name flashing across the booth screen, the energy was unmatched. The drinks were just okay, nothing to write home about, but they got the job done. The only other downsides were the limited parking (especially at night) and the two-hour time limit for our party of ten. Still, it was a fantastic night overall. Great food, great vibes, and a truly fun experience. I'd highly recommend Made in Puerto Rico for birthdays, team outings, or anyone looking for flavorful food and an energetic atmosphere.

You cannot order a fresh carafe or pitcher of sangria with the fruit in it here, which is what I was expecting from a place headlining sangria. So your experience of the Sangria Cafe for sangria will come down to whether you like yours fortified. I like my sangria freshly made to order with just the wine and chopped fruit, but you may have a better experience at Sangria Cafe if you prefer fortified sangria. So the Manager, Elios, was superb. He told me he would let me taste the red, white and lychee versions to see which one I preferred. Given they are all fortified to an extent, I chose to order margaritas. I prefer mezcal margaritas, but they did not have mezcal at the time. So I went with the tequila classic. It was good and I had it to go for my evening at a cigar lounge. I also ordered food to go: the French cut pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and the braised beef short rib with small potatoes and broccoli. Here's a twist: the food was better than the adult beverage at a place emphasizing the latter. At all times, my server, Hector, was superb in his own right. Service is probably the strong suit at Sangria Cafe, followed by the food. The French cut pork chops taste like they have been marinated or at least brined. You will eat these down to the bone and you will pick up those bones to clean them. The garlic mashed potatoes were great too, but the asparagus was a bit overcooked. On balance, this $30 dish was satisfying and would have been better had they included a little gravy on the side for the mashed potatoes. The beef short rib at $38 was even tastier. I appreciate the chef took the time to get a good cut of short rib and trimmed the excess fat down to a leaner cut. The meat is inherently marbled with fat, so the flavor is already going to be as present as the savory tenderness. If you dine at a restaurant where there is excess fat on the beef short rib, know the chef there is not putting in the work to trim all that fat. Coudos to the chefs in the Sangria Cafe kitchen for their trimming work. This is even better than the pork chops and you'll savor every bite. The broccoli was overcooked here, so the chefs could restrain themselves on the cooking time for the veggies. The small potatoes were perfect and what is not to like about marbled beef and potatoes. Here they have a little gravy with cooked onions to add to the savory pleasure. The Sangria Cafe is a great place to come with friends. This place will see lots of action as the weather warms. The atmosphere is upbeat and the music is in full swing. This is a Latino and Afro Latino crowd. The kitchen and service are very good here. Perhaps I'm in the minority preferring nonfortified sangria, but I wish that were an option with the chopped fruit in it. Perhaps the majority prefers the fortified hit, but it would be nice to have it more relaxed with just the wine as summer approaches or at any time of the year. Please keep the mezcal in stock as SOP for the mezcal margs. Thanks to Elios, Hector and the chefs in the kitchen. 3.5 stars.
