I was floored by the beautiful arrangements from her business on social media and received the most breathtaking arrangement from my friend when my dog passed, I knew when I needed flowers I would definately call Jen. She's made and delivered several arrangements I've ordered for family and friends who are just as blown away by her work and stunning flowers/succulents. My husband bought me flowers from Jen K Floral for our Anniversary. The effort and detail that went into this arrangement is hands down the best I have ever seen!!!! (I'm old so I've seen a lot!) Summary: I cannot say enough about Jen's passion, artistry, and creativity. Her concepts are original and her unique use of vegetables and non-pedestrian flowers is both refreshing and exciting. Jen was very fun and easy to work with. Her portfolio was by far the most impressive I saw, yet she was the only floral designer I talked to who didn't fear that their creative vision would be compromised by my budget. Gentle persistence is sometimes necessary if you haven't received an expected reply to an email or phone message, as Jen spends more time designing and arranging than checking and returning email. On the day of the wedding, I was floored by the final products, and I'm still hearing about the flowers from my guests. Creative personalization: When I saw the personals, and ceremony and reception sites, I was in disbelief -- I had an idea of what everything would look like, but could not have imagined the what I saw. Jen and her staff took creativity and technical skill to the nth level. I was speechless for some time. There was delectable home-cooked food to be had at the reception, but guests were walking around to take in the flowers. In the end, they were awed not only by the designs, but also by the degree to which Jen understood me. Several guests summed it up quite nicely: "The flowers are somehow so 'you'." Budget: After our first meeting, Jen gave me a quote for the "dream" version, which she and I would then pare down to a more realistic price. I watched as, in the space of 5 minutes, she worked the list of arrangements, flower types, and quantities to get the effect I wanted at the price I needed. I looked at the total after she was done. She had cut the estimate in half, and it was 2 cents below budget. Magic. On the day of the wedding, I could not imagine what double the budget would have looked like, and knew that even half of what I'd spent would still have looked incredible. Flexibility: With 2 months to go, the ceremony venue was shifted to a location an hour away from the reception. I gave her a new budget, which she met, including sending a second set-up crew to the ceremony venue while she worked the reception site. With 2 days to go, the wedding cake fell through and I needed her to design something different for the cake table. No problem. Room for improvement: Jen had just opened a retail store when we met in January 2010. It seemed she was stretched very thin, designing weddings and operating a retail shop at the same time. Indeed, the initial estimate and survey of the reception site took a few reminder emails and calls. She has since hired enough staff to take care of the retail side, so that she can devote all of her time to weddings. I had a strict budget and you worked with it. Even with 8 bridesmaids!!! Every table, even the book signing, had an arrangement. The ceremony flowers were spectacular, I had so many compliments the day of and days after. Walking down the aisle, I realized you created the vision of the day I had always envisioned. You are so very talented. My bouquet...WOW!!!! The incorporation of my Grandma's brooches was such a special touch and priceless... this bouquet was better than I had seen out of any magazine I had read. And, trust me I cut out pictures and made a binder of the ones that inspired me. What Jen created EXCEEDED my expectations. The bridesmaids bouquets looked like bridal bouquets, AMAZING! She even brought in water and vases to keep them fresh. She also made me a "trash the dress" bouquet that is so lovely I couldn't bring myself to damage it in any way. My wedding flowers were neutral and soft and she made my TTD bouquet fun and alive with no direction from me. When I saw what she did at our wedding, she gained all of my confidence. No words can describe my INCREDIBLE experience with Jen K Floral Design. We met with Jen (the owner) about 8 months before our wedding. We had a terrible experience with Flower Allie (another wedding florist, read my review on Flower Allie and you'll understand). We were referred to Jen K by our reception site (Black Gold Golf Club) and our photographer Joel Austell. I came prepared to our first meeting with photos just because I had a specific color scheme in mind and specific flowers that were crucial to our design. Two weeks before our wedding, Jen did a mock up of one of our center pieces so we could pinpoint our likes and dislikes of the design. I had never heard of a florist doing that before. It really eases the mind of the bride. Fast forward to the day of our wedding. I literally teared up when I saw my bridesmaids bouquets and when Jen brought mine in it was twice the size of the girls and beyond what I could have ever imagined in my mind. Jen surprised the girls with little orchids for their hair, she made them each a hair pin. Such a sweet touch and so so so thoughtful. Our alter arrangements were MASSIVE and a huge show stopper. Jen said they're the biggest they've ever made. They were incredible! She also put an orchid on every napkin at our reception. All the little details and surprise touches were awesome. People at church refer to my wedding as the platinum wedding but they have no idea I had an amazing florist and an awesome mom who were able to work together and take my lace and pearl theme and make it something out of a fairytale on a very small budget. Jen did the florals and my mom did all of the decorating in the church and reception areas! The decorations and the live florals together were EXCELLENT! Paperwork and email and phone calls are not Jen's strong suit and was a major point of frustration and stress between us! My only recommendation is that Jen hire a professional office manager who can handle her contracts, respond to her emails and place orders for her mock-ups during her busy seasons. Also a few of her staff members could be friendlier and more professional. She needs a team that will handle things when the shop gets crazy because she is in high demand and could use the extra support. I had plenty of changes and budget restraints and Jen made my wedding a fairytale despite my declining budget (the recession hit my family really hard in the middle of planning my wedding)! The flowers were a dream come true! She worked with me as I changed colors and scaled back to give me my dream wedding. She even let me pay in installments. BONUS: She worked with me long distance, I was on the east coast and she was on the west coast! She is truly passionate about flowers and brides! And it shows in her work! Stay away from this vendor ESPECIALLY if it's for your wedding. Jen K will scam you by presenting an amazing mock-up of your centerpiece. On the day of your wedding, you will NOT receive what you were shown. We were presented a beautiful arrangement of 95% roses with some cream accents of cymbidium orchids for $175 per arrangement. The flowers that she brought to our wedding looked like awful FUNERAL flowers comprised of wilting white roses, ugly hydrangea with some lipstick red roses and disgusting yellow sprouts hanging out of them. The arrangements at our wedding were of 33% roses and MOSTLY ugly hydrangea for $218 per arrangement. Adding insult to injury, she also added YELLOW dendrobium to the arrangements when yellow was not even a part of our BURGUNDY wedding. On top of the centerpieces, she charged me $225 for 3 altar arrangements and presented us with 2 arrangements and 3 small vases for $675 on our wedding day!!! None of the different varietals of roses that she listed on our invoices were included. None of the color scheme requests were honored. AGAIN, WE ASKED FOR A *BURGUNDY* wedding with light accents of cream. We won our case today in court against Jen K for a refund of $2k on our $5k invoice due to the severe discrepancy in what was delivered and what we paid for. Every word that she spoke in court was a lie. She forged documents and presented false words as evidence. She is forgetful, unreliable and dishonest. She will change her pricing on you if you do not check her invoices line by line. She will not remember to call you at times that you have scheduled. She will forget to respond to emails. She will forget the colors of your wedding. She will forget details that you requested. She will scam you in any way that she can. Disclosure: I received a phone message from Jen K indicating she is not a Vendor and she asked that I remove that reference and this entire review. This review is my personal opinion regarding the business interaction I had with Jen K Floral Design and does in no way reflect on Jen K as a person. My fiancé and went to Jen K Floral Design after being given a list of possible florists from hotel documents where our reception is being held. When I discussed things with Jen K via email she was prompt in replying and asked that I send her pictures and color ideas prior to meeting with her. We did this task before we met with her. When we arrived at her shop she didn't have the colors or flowers I sent her, but retrieved her laptop and pulled up the email. She proceeded to spend approximately 60-80 minutes discussing colors, flowers, ideas, etc. She took notes and gave ideas regarding the Catholic ceremony she, herself, had conducted for her own wedding. Her ideas seemed decent, but nothing evolved from this meeting and we aren't clear what happened or why she never responded to our inquiry for a quote. The first time we heard from her since our meeting in January was today when she told us to remove the review from this site in a voicemail message. (1st Amendment Right - Freedom of Speech) Jen K has demanded that I remove the rest of this post. Our experience was less than positive with this florist. Overview: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Pros: beautiful website and cute shop with connects to decorators for your event Cons: unprofessional, bad business sense and apathetic customer service. Summary: Jen K came recommended to us by our venue and our wedding planner (although it was mentioned that she was a bit expensive). My fiance called and asked some general questions about the shop. Pam, one of the shop ladies, was informative if not a bit short. She answered our questions and continually redirected us back to the website as though she was getting bored answering our questions. When asked about dropping by the shop to see the place, Pam's retort was "today's not a good day...Jen's really busy today." She did not offer an appointment, and when solicited, stated that Jen was unavailable until 3 weeks later for a consultation. She even scoffed at the idea of getting an appointment within a week! We took the appointment despite her attitude. My fiance decided to do her unannounced visit despite Pam's attempt to dissuade. She and the MOB popped in on a Tuesday around 1p the following week. The place was completely empty (with the exception of her many shop attendants)! None of the aforementioned attendants, nor Jen, greeted either of these ladies until they'd surveyed the entire store and were on the way out the door. Certainly not friendly service. And the icing on the (wedding) cake, Pam called and canceled the consultation with Jen at 10 minutes to 5p on the day of! As reason for the cancellation Pam cited that Jen had been "so sick she can barely stand up" all day long. Funny how it took her until 5p to realize she wasn't going to make the appointment. Extremely unprofessional. Pam then proceeded to reschedule the appointment into Jen's horribly busy schedule for another week out. My fiance called back 2 days later to speak to Jen about the lackluster customer service. As a wedding vendor myself, I have had the opportunity to see the work of MANY florists, as I have been DJing nearly every weekend during the busy months for the past 10 years. She and her assistants have always done great work and she is on the "Preferred Vendor List" at some of the most elite venues in Oange County. She took all my ideas and ran with them...everything was above and beyond...You could tell she took the time to listen to what I wanted and what was most important to me...She added small touches to things like my mother and grandmothers bouquet...and my MOH's was a little different that all the rest of my girls...The Gazebo left everyone speechless! They lasted for almost two weeks and I of course dried as many as i could including my bouquet. If you are looking for something truly unique and styled to your likes and personality, Jen is the one for you. One of the things I like best about Jen is her ability to to take an idea and make it flourish. Sure if you point out something and want it exactly the same, she can produce it for you. But if you give her a little freedom, your wedding design will thrive on her love that she has for each wedding design. She is a professional and I make the suggestion to trust her. Jen is also very particular about the flowers she uses (quality) and the technicals of how the flowers are arranged. She always makes sure that the flowers leaving her shop and entering your wedding, birthday, or special occasion, are handled with the upmost care. As for budgets, Jen works around the spectrum. If you are on a tight budget, let Jen know upfront what you are looking to pay, and give her a vision to work with. In cases of budget, you have to trust and Jen can surely provide something lovely for the money you are working with. If you are lucky enough these days to have more leniency with your budget, lucky you! Have some fun and be creative! The flowers were the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. I gave her direction on the colors and flowers I wanted to use and knew they were going to be incredible, but they turned out even more amazing then I thought. Bigger and better! And she is soooo reasonable, she will work with your budget! I can't say enough about her work and her team. Should you use her? Yes would be an understatement!!! WOULDN'T WISH JEN K ON MY WORST ENEMY! See Amanda K's review for the bride's perspective on this but as the mother of the bride I can tell you that Jen K wasted a lot of my time and money that was put into planning the centerpieces and other candle holders for my daughter's back yard wedding on 9-24-2011. I had to meet with three different people including Jen herself. The first one, Jenny Hill, was fired at some point after we spent two hours with her on the original contract in June, then when I came in to pay the balance Jen didn't have much of an idea of what needed to be done three weeks before the event and hadn't bothered to call me about getting any information. She informed me that I had to bring all the centerpieces etc. into her because the flowers had to be arranged and attached and ready to be put on the tables when she got to my house. She told me she didn't start tucking flowers into things at the site and that her ex employee should never have told me that or priced the contract so low. Sounded reasonable until she showed up here the day of the wedding with the same empty centerpieces I had delivered to her three weeks earlier when YET AGAIN she wasn't available and I had to go over everything again with her assistant Kathy who took pages of notes and I even did a mock up of the centerpiece with full candles and diamonds around them that Jen herself saw and said she "loved all the bling" . Apparently, Jen didn't bother reading any of the notes her assistant took and decided all on her own that I didn't need the centerpieces to look the way I had left one in her shop.. She showed up the day of the wedding with nothing but buckets of flowers which she proceeded to put on and into anything and everything in my yard including my pool. She put flowers everywhere EXCEPT on the candle holders which is what I had paid for. She was supposed to tuck hydrangeas into the candle holders (FULL AND ABUNDANT was what was on the contract Jen chose to ignore) and ended up placing three hydrangeas on each side about four inches away from the candle holders with a couple of end flowers also not near the centerpieces all of which were wilting in the sun at the start of the reception. So I ended up with about five bucks, if that, worth or flowers on each of ten tables and it looked like crap and all of our pictures look like there's nothing but crooked candles on all the tables with a few flowers laying on the linens. I could have easily done that myself for a hell of a lot less money. Also for a hell of a lot less money I could have done all the centerpieces in silk hydrangea and all the bling she had PROMISED my daughter and they truly would have been gorgeous. My two sisters and I had made 16 bird cages with silk flowers, bling, etc. attached the week before the wedding that turned out beautiful and had I known this awful woman was going to independently decide we didn't actually need to have any centerpieces I would have used the bird cages on the tables instead of hanging them in the trees and around my gazebo. As it was my tables all looked like crap and my heart just broke when I walked into my yard and saw NO flowers on the centerpieces, NO acrylic diamonds around the crooked candles and saw what I had wasted my money on. I had to excuse myself after the catering manager told me how Jen had behaved in my home because I was ready to burst into tears in front of all my guests. There was no creativity, no design, no arranging, no bling and NO CENTERPIECES done. Nothing but flowers strewn all over my yard that took me half the day after the wedding to clean and sweep up and fish out of my pool and skimmers none of which had even remotely ever been discussed with this horrible woman. Jen and her employee Kathy told me repeatedly that the candles would be put on perfectly and that the centerpieces would be gorgeous. She refused to even place the candles and diamonds and what she gave my daughter on her wedding day was far from that gift of Jen's passion for her work I had read so much about. Don't believe for a minute Jen's garbage about only doing one wedding a day and devoting herself to your event. She showed up late to the wedding site with corsages that weren't what she promised and fell apart before the ceremony even started and then late to my home before the reception and then, after bad mouthing me for not spending enough money with her, proceeded to inform the catering manager that she wasn't paid enough to set any of the candles or place the acrylic diamonds around the centerpieces she had NOT done any arrangements on and that she needed to be somewhere else and wasn't going to do any of it. The catering manager had to scramble to get the candles on in time so most of them weren't straight and the diamond bands around them were a mess and, of course, no acrylic diamonds around the candles and NO FLOWERS on the candle holders. We had used Regal Flowers (now Jen K) for over 28 years for our business and personal needs. Last week my sister sent flowers to my home from Jen K because she knows this was "our" florist. The flowers were delivered when no one was home. Jen K left no note, and did not follow up with a phone call ( we live in an area where the neighbors are not close). The flowers were an absolute mess after being in the sun for over 5 (five) hours. I called and personally went to the shop and was met by Jen in person. She was rude and insulting. I have never been so disgusted with the type of treatment I received in front of other customers and her employees. Do not ever use this Florist. We have transferred all out business to Flowers of Orange. read more

Jen K Floral Design did my January 2010 wedding at Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Coast, Ca. After visiting several "Top Notch" florist referred by the venue I wanted to die after getting quoted 25k+ for FLOWERS! You could only imagine how relieved I was when I met Jen. She had not only worked for all the "Top Notch" florists but she was able to give me every little detail I was wanting for less than HALF of the other quotes ! The day of my wedding I was over whelmed with joy. I knew from the moment I walked in the ballroom she had went above and beyond what I had payed for. I could not believe the massive amounts of flowers that covered my ceremony and reception. My bouquet was a real show stopper, although I had picked one that had been done several times before she was able to make it unlike any other cala lilly bouquet I had ever seen. Her attention to detail made my day perfect. She went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined it would be. My experience with this floral shop was beyond my expectations!! I'm writing this review on behalf of my intire office!! My fellow employee of 17 years mom passed away so we all pitched in and with Jens patience and time she took to understand who this lady was and the colors and ethnic background she delivered the most outstanding funeral piece!! All the other arraignments seemed so sad and Jens arraignment captured the beauty we all seen in her when she was here with us!! Thank you jen for what you did and what you continue to do!!
