The deals are good and selection isn't horrible (in fact, you'll see some very obscure brands and…read moreproducts suited for people way below the average income in this city or even in Sunnyside) but the checkout lines are ungodly LONG!!!! They are so obscenely short staffed here I wouldn't be surprised if lots of people have walked out the door with items or just walked out the door and bought nothing because they didn't have 15 or 20 minutes to stand in line. It's also not the cleanest or best maintained Dollar Tree I've seen by any stretch. I think the long line for checking out is a feature here since every time I've gone here during different days and times of the week, the line has been insane. It makes you ask "do I need this item for $1.25 THAT badly?" It seems very random as to when they open a second register to conquer these long lines sometimes taking up more than one store aisle. I can't imagine what it would be like trying to shop here around the holidays. You might see the rapture happen before you get to pay for items. The store manager/owner needs to be taking note here and fixing this since I know this line deters me from shopping here unless I absolutely must get something and know it won't be cheaper elsewhere. The staff here probably isn't having an easy time of this either.

Got some basic stuff like plastic drinking cups , Tupperware, plastic utensils and cleaning supplies for kitchen and bathroom. It really should now be called the dollar and fifty cents tree as each item is 6 quarters as well as items over the 1.50 threshold but if it ain't broke , just leave it alone .The cashier was a nice gal and wrapped each religious candles in newspaper to avoid any breakage. Giving this queens Dollar tree 4 stars and if I am in the area again with time to spare I am dropping anchor for sure .

In any case, the store is always packed with a variety of unique and interesting household items. It's worth visiting just to browse. My only minor complaint is the narrow aisles make navigating a bit difficult. Also, my understanding is the old manager is no longer there so hopefully customer service will improve. Since it's located in the Bay Terrace mall, there is ample parking, other shopping venues, a large supermarket, and several restaurants. Overall, worth a rating of at 4 stars, good stuff, definitely time well-spent, again even if just to browse.

Overall, this store is a combination Bin Store/Liquidator. Given the footprint, the hybrid business model is understandable as it would require too many bins for the store size to be profitable. A recent trip saw appliances, baseball cards and other such items at liquidator prices and bins that were not really compelling on higher priced days. In fairness, my visit was in the later part of the day and often the treasurers of day 1 pricing are grabbed earlier in the day by those in the right place at the right time.

I ended up only finding two of the pants I originally purchased. I settled for the two and made my way over to checkout when I discovered a display of "Pixie" pants that caught my eye. This style of pant had a decent amount of colors and sizes. I ended up dropping the harpers and racked up on the pixies. Shifting through a land mine of clothes was a little disconcerting. Especially when an employee was standing next to me. I had to ask her for help instead of her offering it. They need to call the bomb squad to rectify the issues that they have. It's a total mess. You have to dive in like a synchronize swimmer to find clothes.

Most of the puzzles are terrible photos that someone shouldn't have been paid to take. But there are a few awesome 500 piece puzzles that are a buck each. I highly recommend the jelly bean puzzle if you're up for the most frustrating hours of your life. Also the office supplies are pretty great. But there's always a very long line.

Located on 14th Ave in a mini shopping center called Whitestone Shopping Center with a parking lot in College Point, the Deals$ store is much larger than the Family Dollar. The Deal$ chain is owned by my favorite dollar store chain, Dollar Tree. Compared to the Family Dollar next door, I feel the Deal$ store is more organized and has a store "feel" to it with actual Deal$ flyers at the store's entrance. The day I came to visit, I was looking to buy some inexpensive hangers and I found a ten pack of hangers for, which seems to be a better deal than buying the Dollar one for maybe three hangers. Each aisle has similarly-grouped products so it is easier to shop and look for specific items. The right side of the store starts from home items and the left side of the store is food and drinks. There is usually only one cashier working, but there maybe two during times of necessity. A lot of the products sold at Deal$ is also sold at Dollar Tree. While Deal$ doesn't seem to be too bad of a place, the feeling of things costing me over a dollar doesn't make me feel too good because I'll always be pricing everything in my head to see if it is actually cheaper than if I bought it somewhere else. When items are a dollar, I only need to think: yes or no? Because of these reasons, I'm still missing Dollar Tree. PRO: Discount items, parking lot CONS: Products sold may be more than a dollar
