I first saw Dr. Yu at a friend's recommendation, before beginning my pregnancy journey. At the first visit, I appreciated how direct, calm, and responsive he was to all of my many questions; I also chose him because I wanted to see a solo practitioner who would be present at my delivery. I echo all of the many wonderful things written about Dr. Yu and his office staff in other google/yelp reviews. A few other things I found exceptional and am particularly grateful for include: - He is extremely focused on the health of mom (in addition to the health of baby). Throughout instances for me both during pregnancy and postpartum, he offered very direct advice and recommendations of procedures he thought I should do, including calling me to make sure I went to the ER when there was something I didn't know was serious. At other times, he was very clear in explaining the pros and cons of decisions so that I could exercise my discretion, and respectful of my choices. - During labor and delivery, he was present from relatively early on and checked in multiple times, including ensuring that I knew when the hospital shift change was occurring so I could make a more informed decision on when to get my epidural. When I was researching doulas, I spoke with some who had been at deliveries by Dr. Yu and who said that he was more present than most OBs and was willing to listen to women's preferences during delivery. I found this to be true, and also found that Dr. Yu advocated for decisions that he thought would lead to a shorter delivery with less pain when I was on the fence about taking certain actions. I also found his instructions on how to push very clear (it's hard if you have an epidural and cannot feel anything)! - Healing from the different surgical procedures he has performed (during pregnancy, tears after delivery, circumcision for baby) has always been extremely smooth. - He does his own ultrasounds and does them at every visit, so you don't need to go into the hospital to get an ultrasound. I found it very reassuring to check baby's heartrate at every visit. - His office is very clear and flexible about billing, including a) accepting checks from insurance (who sent them only to me and not to the office directly) and b) explaining how he was an out of network provider but would not balance bill patients (and how that intersects with the No Surprises Act). - He is so responsive -- in particular via his messaging system; very rarely did I wait longer than 4 hours for a response (including on weekends, and messages sent at 9 pm). Lab results were provided almost immediately via the messaging system. He also gives you plenty of notice if he is going on vacation (which only happened once in my almost 2 years of seeing him). - He has wonderful contacts for referrals, such as for specialty procedures required to be performed by maternal fetal medicine specialists, breast surgeons, surgeons for fibroids, and more. He is always professional and even has a sense of humor. I would highly recommend him to all of my friends (and already have). read more

Dr Yu is the gyno I plan on seeing until the day I die. Love that he's AAPI, is more professional than most female gynos I've seen, and has the best bedside manner ever. The entire space is super clean and the warm seated bidet toilets that magically greet you every time you enter a bathroom are a fan (me) favorite. Lastly, it might not seem important but you always hear or read horror stories of front desk demons; the ladies here are utter angels and always super helpful and accommodating. read more

Summary of the long review below: Choosing Dr. Yu during my first pregnancy was the best decision I could have made and I HIGHLY recommend him. Long, detailed review: Where do I even start with Dr. Yu? When I first got pregnant, I made appointments with 3 different OBs - two of them were with group practices (Mount Sinai and NYU) and one was with Dr. Yu, a single practitioner office (affiliated with Mount Sinai UWS). I went to initial appointments at all 3 places and after a lot of deliberation, I decided to go with Dr. Yu. At the time I made that decision, I didn't know just how great of a choice that would be. I initially chose Dr. Yu because of two main things: (1) he was very responsive to my questions, which was essential for me because this was my first pregnancy and I was worried a lot and had many questions and (2) he was the only OB meaning he was the one I would see at each and every appointment and the one who would be delivering my baby. I really didn't like the idea of being rotated through a group of doctors and then being delivered by one of them randomly based on who was on-call that night. Those two factors made me choose Dr. Yu, despite the fact that his office was the farthest away out of the three, but over the course of the 9 months of seeing him, my husband and I realized it was the best decision not just for those two reasons, but for many others. Responsiveness - I covered this somewhat above, but if you're the type of person who has questions, worries, and wants to be able to get in contact with your doctor directly, Dr. Yu is the person for you. Especially early on in my pregnancy, I had questions multiple times a week, including sometimes on weekends. There were so many things I didn't know and Dr. Yu would check and answer my messages on weekends and evenings, which really reduced my stress. Some of my questions were even silly, but because this was my first pregnancy, I just wanted to double check things and make sure - Dr. Yu answered them all. Care - Dr. Yu listens to your preferences, works very hard to advocate for them (unless there is a medical reason not to), and supports your decisions. He is a proponent of vaginal delivery and does not push unnecessary C-sections or inductions as some other clinics may given that these are more convenient for the doctor. Trust/Reputation - I trust him, he knows what he's doing, and he's up on the latest. When I had to go to Mount Sinai West for my anatomy scan and several other monitoring appointments thereafter, all the nurses and doctors thought highly of Dr. Yu and praised his competence. During Appointments - Dr. Yu takes his time and patiently answers all questions - even when you ask a lot of them like I do! While my husband couldn't come to the appointments because the office wasn't allowing partners during Covid, he facetimed in for each appointment and was also able to ask questions. Timeliness - he was always on time with appointments. The maximum I ever had to wait was maybe 10 minutes. There was a time when he had to cancel my appointment last minute because he had an emergency labor to attend to, but there's nothing he could have done about that. I suppose if he were in a group practice, a different doctor could have seen me that day instead of rescheduling, but this is a relatively minor inconvenience and obviously happens very rarely. Plus, I would rather just stick with 1 doctor. Office - his office is located on the UWS, which admittedly was a bit of a commute for me, but his office is very nice, clean, spacious, and calming and all of his equipment is top of the line. He also does his own ultrasounds at each visit, which I found to be a positive (you can always opt out of this if you don't want it). Staff - when I first started, his nurse wasn't great - she didn't seem to care much, had an attitude, and was not very hygienic. Luckily, she was replaced early on with a new wonderful nurse. The front desk has always been very responsive, answers phones quickly, calls to confirm appointments, and helps with anything relating to scheduling, insurance, bills, etc. Delivery - some doctors show up at the last minute during your delivery. Dr. Yu was there for hours (once my labor started actually progressing), checking in every 30 mins - 1 hr. And if I needed to speak with him, I could ask for him to come into my room. He was supportive and encouraging during delivery when I just literally thought I couldn't do it anymore. So, that's a long way of saying I had an excellent experience with Dr. Yu and I recommend him wholeheartedly to everyone. He's worth the commute even if you don't live close to his office. read more

I came in for a checkup and STD screening. By far the most comprehensive, friendly OB/GYN appointment I've ever had. The consultation was really thorough: Dr. Yu was attentive and knowledgeable about not only my reproductive health but my non-gyn medical issues that affect it. I got tested for every STD including herpes, and I got to see my uterus & ovaries on ultrasound (they're so cute, my uterus looks like a little puff pastry, and they're doing such a good job). In all ways, this office provides the customer service experience of the Four Seasons Hotel. Dr. Yu communicated with me on the weekend to answer my questions right away, front desk took care of my insurance processing even though I was out of network, and as a side benefit the office is just beautiful. read more

Dr. Yu and his team are the absolute best. I saw Dr. Yu throughout my pregnancy as well as for the delivery of my baby and would 100% recommend him to all my girlfriends to go to him as well. He reassured me and patiently answered all my questions and at no point did I feel uncertain about his skills or having him as my doctor. My risk factors: Advanced Maternal Age, IVF, Complete Placenta Previa, 2-Vessel Cord, Marginal Cord Insertion, previous C-section delivery. I took a chance to find a new OB, as my previous doctor moved to CA, instead of choosing a doctor within the existing practice. I have worked in hospital administration for NY hospitals for over 25 years and I knew I wanted to find someone who could provide an excellent, comprehensive patient experience. I did my research for a professional with no less than stellar recommendations/reviews for himself but also someone who employed knowledgeable, friendly and efficient front end/reception staff. I found all of this with Dr. Jeffrey Yu. My first visit to his office instantly solidified my trust in him and his practice; I knew I would be cared for at the highest level of excellence by his entire team. Below are the some of the (many) reasons why: 1. Timely and efficient appointments: Dr. Yu respects his patients' time. During my OB visits, not once did I wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. In fact, I typically arrive 10 minutes early for my appointments and his team was ALWAYS ready and waiting to take care of me. Appointments moved quickly while not feeling rushed. Dr. Yu took his time to explain any concerns and answer all questions in a way which felt logical and reassuring. 2. State of the art equipment/technology: The first thing you notice when walking into the office is how clean it is and how well it runs (like clock-work). Each exam room is equipped with new equipment and a large screen TV which provided for a better experience during my high-risk pregnancy when visualizing the baby's progress. Throughout COVID, the office team took extra measures to ensure patients felt safe by providing ample PPE and preventive measures. Communication with Dr. Yu was efficient and seamless; he responded to emails (via secured communicator) promptly and suggested a call if discussion was better over phone. 3. Knowledgeable team: During my regular scans, it was discovered I had placenta issues with this pregnancy. The doctor reviewing my scans asked who my doctor was and immediately contacted Dr. Yu to notify him of the findings which allowed for us to discuss/plan next steps without any delay. During my postpartum stay at Mt. Sinai Hospital, various nurses and doctors commented on Dr. Yu's knowledge, reputation and experience. They happily volunteered information about his kindness and how much he is liked; "I have known him for 10 years and he is great", a few said. It was heartwarming to see Dr. Jeffrey Yu as highly regarded, not only by his patients, but also by his peers. 4. Experience of a private practice, instead of group: during my high risk pregnancy, it was comforting to be under the constant care of Dr. Yu, without the uncertainty of seeing different doctors during each visit. I live in Long Island and each trip to Dr. Yu's office took 2 hours round trip. I would not hesitate to do this all over again and will recommend him to anyone I know. My C-section delivery was smooth sailing, recovery was fast, incision site healed well and with minimal scarring. I highly recommend Dr. Yu to all my loved ones with a uterus. I have been Dr. Yu's patient for almost two years. Given issues beyond both of our control, they have been a rocky two years with highs and lows. Dr. Yu has been an incredible source of support throughout. Of course he's exceedingly competent. But, what I really appreciate about his practice and his approach to health is that I feel treated as a whole person (including as a ball of nerves/ anxiety) and I don't ever feel shamed about asking a million questions, including what must be incredibly annoying ones from late night lay readings of medical journals. I have moved around the I-95 corridor but even when I got as far as Boston, I would not go to another provider. His staff match his energy - smart, efficient, and kind. Disclaimer: I have not been seen by this doctor- have been helped by front desk twice. I can only say the absolute best things about this practice from my limited experience. I found Dr Yu through his amazing reviews on zocdoc and here and called to make an appointment. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my insurance, a visit will be costly (again, this is on me and my insurance. Has nothing to do with the office). However, in both of my calls with two different employess, the front desk staff were absolutely amazing from walking me through what an office visit would look like and cost to generously offering the names of other physicians likely to be in network that are of a similar caliber to Dr. Yu. Can I remind you I am not even their patient yet? To have a practice that so generously and kindly cares for people is absolutely amazing and solidified my desire to receive treatment under the care of Dr. Yu. I am very excited to become a patient. Dr. Yu is the best OBGYN I've ever been to. He was always very caring and understanding with me. He gave me all the information I needed regarding to the situation I visited him for and put my IUD in a really gentle and fast way. I've had it for over a year and I haven't had any kind of problem with it. Every time I had questions for him he answered really fast over email and helped me as much as he could, more than any other Dr had helped me before. I'm not living in US anymore and even tho, he stills answer my questions and help me as he can since I haven't been able to find another OBGYN. Absolutely the best OB. I started going to Dr. Yu once I found out I was pregnant, and just gave birth a week ago. Dr. Yu's office is very clean, his staff is friendly and the office wait time was never more than 15 minutes. He is very competent and whenever I had questions about concerning pregnancy symptoms, I was able to email or have him paged, and he got back to me almost immediately (usually within 30 minutes or less). He was there for my delivery and did my son's circumcision. I have nothing but great things to say about him and his practice. I am a general surgeon, so I am difficult to please, but I can't say enough good things about Jeffrey Yu. I did not know Dr Yu in any manner before he took care of my wife's pregnancy. In fact I came from the west coast so I knew no one in the city. We left another OB/GYN who my wife had been with for years but who we were sort of unhappy with to go to Dr Yu. His office staff is super friendly and accommodating. He is available 24/7 for questions and problems that arise. He has an awesome system for messaging that he is very punctual with. His bedside manner is exceptional and he exudes confidence. He is spectacular and very fast with ultrasound which made every appointment a joy. We had an elective cesarean section at Mt Sinai/Roosevelt and he facilitated our admission there and stay so that it went very smoothly... Dr Yu did an awesome c-section I was there through the whole procedure. So... as a surgeon watching him work on my wife, he is fast, skilled, and left a very small incision that healed perfectly with almost no scar. I would give his surgical skill a 10/10 and I am very critical. I would recommend him to anyone I know. The guy is amazing. read more

This is a way long overdue review two years later. No joke, Dr. Yu is the BEST! I interviewed 6 OB/GYNs when I found out I was pregnant (some of the best in the city) and he had blew everyone out of the water. In meeting these doctors to interview/confirm the pregnancy, they found an ovarian cyst which happens sometimes when you're pregnant and it was extremely frightening. Others rushed me through the appointment and only delivered the bad news without explaining options or how it may play out, etc. Dr. Yu immediately saw it in the ultrasound, went into smart but down-to-earth professor mode and explained complicated medical things so clearly and logically to a lay person, gave me a pamphlet explaining this issue that he just happened to have handy (prepare much?), went over hypotheticals and options, and in the end also made me feel completely at ease that all would be ok and I knew I could trust him to take care of me and my baby's health. And on top of it all, he sent us home with an awesome baby book that day (doctor version of What to Expect). Wow. Sold. And he only got better and more amazing throughout my pregnancy. Dr. Yu is so calm, intelligent, incredibly responsive, super on top of everything, skilled, patient, proactive, articulate, and I suspect a mutant superhero who's somehow everywhere all the time. The one week he was on a family vacation out of the country, I fainted on the subway and ended up in the ER, and his back-up doctor was fantastic in guiding me through this dilemma. I saw Dr. Yu the next week for a regular appointment and didn't mention anything hoping he maybe never found out - but he'd already done his homework before I came in and the first thing he asked me about was the incident to see if I was ok. Dang! Two weeks later I fell down a few subway stairs (someone rushed to catch a train and knocked me down), and I landed on my belly, freaked out my baby was hurt. Emailed him right away and he got back to me in minutes and got me in to see him right away just to make sure I was ok. (Everything was fine and Dr. Yu was awesome, me and the subway just didn't get a long in my first tri.) He always responds super fast to questions I had via email or to deliver / explain test results. I always felt like I could ask him anything and he'd answer in lightening fast speed which made you constantly feel like you're the only patient he sees, when in fact he's attending to a million other people (with the still same amazing level of care!) and probably just delivered a new baby 10 minutes ago. So committed he is - at one appointment, he came in to the office for my appointment still in scrubs after a super long delivery and he looked like he'd just gone to battle yet was so focused an on his A game. Mutant superhuman! At my 20 week appointment, the hospital technician found a serious issue that was at risk for pre-term labor and wanted me to come back 2 weeks later for another assessment. I left the hospital freaked out and concerned, and before I even got home from the appointment, Dr. Yu had received my results from the lab and sent me an email telling me "You're probably worried but don't be --" followed by yet another smart explanation and positive encouragement. His proactive approach to care and ability to anticipate the concerns of individual patients is insanely amazing. (Turns out the technician just didn't know how to read the ultrasound right, everything was once again just fine!) Come labor and delivery day - Dr. Yu once again amazing. And in the few days after, he checked in on us in person and on the phone to make sure we were well. We also never dealt with a single insurance bill issue because he and his staff were so on it! I also love that he is a single practitioner and I was 99.9% sure he would be delivering my baby, not a different doctor on a rotation. Again, mutant superhuman. Thank you to his family (wife, kid/s) for any sacrifice they may make to allow him to provide such amazing care. He is a gift to the world - to deliver the most precious gifts into the world - and to provide the best most trusted and possible care any OBGYN ever can. I have referred him to so many of my friends (and all of us being Type A full of a million questions with high expectations over achievers) and they all also love him. He addresses every neurotic question but never with judgment and always with intelligent easy to understand explanations. Of course he's won a ton of awards and if I recall in my research (again, neurotic type A), he was at the top of his Residency cohort and has been noted in Doctor magazines as an up and coming star, etc. He more than deserves every one of those accolades and more. I am just so sad that I moved away from NYC and fear I'll never find a doctor as amazing as him ever again. Thank you, Dr. Yu!! You are truly the best!! I had to find a new dr since mine moved out of state. I spent a fair amount of time talking with Dr. Yu. Since it was my first visit with him, we went through my medical history for a bit. He doesn't overbook, I barely had to wait 5 mins to be seen. His assistant/nurse, Nicole, is really nice. I had to have a couple of tests done just to make sure everything was okay. Normally I'd have to wait for an appt with someone else to get an ultrasound done, but Dr. Yu does it himself. I had blood work done as well and received my results the very next day. With my last dr, I had to call the nurse at the office a couple of times after a week or two to get my results. Dr. Yu uses RelayHealth to communicate with his patients and whenever there's a question you might have, he responds right away. Would definitely recommend Dr. Yu. He explains everything to you and makes any situation calm and somewhat relaxed even if you have certain concerns that may be difficult to handle. read more

I was so fortunate to have Dr. Yu deliver my first baby in 2014. I knew he was a great Dr. but it wasn't until moving out of state and having to go to another Dr. for my second that I realized just how amazing he was! He and his staff are truly the best. He is trustworthy, knowledgable, professional and caring. He helped me have a natural birth and exactly how I wanted it without any hiccups. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes to see him at my appointments and never once had a billing issue in the 2+ years I saw him. That seems to be a rarity for any Dr. office these days. Terrible. Should not be an OBGYN. I put my IUD in with him in December 2016 and, in addition to NOT telling me to take pain killers before the procedure (despite telling a friend of mine, who also went to him, to take Advil beforehand), he cut the chords of my Mirena IUD too short, in a way that bothers my partner during intercourse and that will make the IUD more difficult to remove when I have to do that in a few years. On top of all that, he was very cold and dry during the whole procedure. I felt terrible pain, nausea and and almost passed out afterwards. But all he did was send in a nurse to check in on me after realizing that I took longer than expected to vacate the room. Then he disappeared, not even asking if I felt better afterwards and never following up again. This man should not work with womens' health in any way. read more

Dr. Jeffrey Yu deserves 10 stars. We were lucky to have him for our first baby. He is very friendly, professional and my wife could reach him 24/7. He walked with us step by step and gave us priceless advice as well as great care. When time came to deliver the baby, he did the impossible and managed to deliver our daughter as naturally as possible (only epidural). We were looking at 80% chance for C-Section, but he took great care to deliver without even making one cut!!! My wife is recovering fast, baby is doing great and we owe it to Dr. Yu. I would not go with anyone else, Dr. Yu is a treasure and the best OB you can find out there. It makes a HUGE difference when such a special doctor is with you every step of the way instead of the usual doctor on call. You can tell the difference in the level of care. I saw dr. Yu yesterday for the first time. I recently moved back to the city and was looking for a gynecologist, and picked him because he had great reviews on zocdoc. And now I know why! We first talked in his office about any concerns that I had, the exam that followed was as relaxed and as comfortable as it could be: he explained everything that he was doing, he is extremely gentle and has a very rare combination of warm personality and exceptional professionalism, which I find crucial in doctors. I started seeing Dr Yu last fall right before I got pregnant with my first child. From the first office visit I knew the experience was different than any other doctor I had seen. He gives you his attention, walks you through everything, and will answer any questions you may have. I have never felt rushed at a visit During my pregnancy I always felt safe and he responded to any questions I had after hours very rapidly. I never realized how important it would be going to a private practice until the 3rd trimester when i knew I would never want anyone else besides doctor Yu to deliver the baby. When you are at a private practice you are will have the doctor you see deliver not just anyone on call, this was very important and something I would have never thought of before. I second every positive comment others have said here. From my first appointment with Dr Yu I knew his care and expertise was exceptional. He's patient, answers all of my questions clearly and in a positive way (vs my prior doctor who made me so scared), and is always on time and super efficient in appointments. He never finishes an appointment before asking me if I have any other questions and I never feel rushed. My husband also really respects and trusted him immediately which is important to me. I am so grateful to him because from the moment of my first appointment when I found out I was pregnant in February up to the delivery last week, he has always been there when needed, professional and best of all ( absolutely essential to me), knowledgeable. I have gone to literally..DOZENS of gyno's. I have had many problems with my womanly parts and have gone through surgery and many biopsies and i have been going through hell for about 10 12 years until i met Dr. Jeffrey Yu. I HATED going to the dr...any dr....but I truly LOVE going to Dr. Yu. Not only does he know what he is doing....but he actually cares. He really REALLY cares about you and your feelings and whats going on and will do EVERYTHING to help you. A little while after I started going to him, I found out i was Pregnant and I knew I wanted Dr. Yu to give birth to my first child and I made the right choice. I fought to keep him as my doctor and I couldn't be happier. My pregnancy was AMAZING and Dr. Yu knew what he was doing. My birth was incredibly easy and perfect. I never knew a doctor could be such a good person. I have always known Doctors to be just about money and all the patients he can get....but Dr. Yu cares about you and treats you like family. He calls checks up on you...he is incredibly easy to get in touch with if you have ANY question..trust me..I asked so many questions and non to him were too little or too stupid to answer fully. Not only is Dr. Yu phenomenal, but his staff especially Jocelyn is the sweetest, funniest and caring assistant you can possibly meet. If you go to Dr. Yu....you will NEVER look for another gyno..i promise that. He will definitely be my gyno for as long as possible and will deliver any other baby i have. read more

This review is long overdue. From beginning to end, Dr. Yu was always thorough, informative and accessible. It was nice to hear that he would answer any questions or concerns via email quickly, and when put to the test, he did not disappoint! He answered my questions quickly, usually within two hours and eased all of my concerns, no matter the time of day. And because of his convenient office hours, I didn't have to take any days off from work for any of my appointments! Dr. Yu walked my husband and I calmly step by step through the entire process. Even when I was overdue, he tried his best to avoid inducing my labor. Thankfully, two days before I was scheduled to be induced, I went into labor. Dr. Yu is patient and calm during the storm that was my labor pains! The entire birth process turned out incredible and he was there to deliver our little princess. Finally, but certainly not least, I can't forget to mention Nicole, Dr. Yu's medical assistant who is incredibly friendly, kind and warm. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Yu. Dr. Yu delivered my second child and I would say that my experience ended up being so great only due to his care (especially compared to my first delivery). He is always available, always answering emails via the health app RelayHealth promptly. I never felt that there was a lack of communication - he knew exactly what my preferences were during delivery because he is the only doctor in his practice... so he sees you for every visit and also delivers you child himself. He never rushes you during office visits and allocates enough time to answer every last question. He is also incredibly reassuring. Dr. Yu is awesome! I've gone through a traumatic few weeks at another Ob/Gyn with a lot of miscommunication and had a generally terrible time. I went to Dr. Yu with my records to see if he could help clear things up and he went through everything with me and explained everything clearly and made sure I had a thorough understanding of every part of my exam and the procedures I'd undergone previously. I'm in recovery from a surgery botched by the other doctors, and Dr. Yu made me feel much calmer about the situation. He assured me that since he is a solo practice there won't be any miscommunication down the line, since I won't be thrown between multiple doctors. He's available outside of office hours if an emergency or concern should arise, and if you ever need an appointment at the last minute he can fit you in any time Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday. I was late to my appointment and was still seen within ten minutes of arriving - a huge change from my last place, where I'd wait over an hour every time to see a doctor. I'm recommending him to all of my friends already. I'm so happy I managed to finally find an ob/gyn in NYC who has hours outside of 9-5 AND who seems to genuinely care about his patients. read more

I would love to give Dr. Yu a better review, but unfortunately, his completely incorrect prognosis regarding my pregnancy makes it impossible for me to do so. My first visit with Dr. Yu was great- he confirmed I was pregnant, did a sonogram, took my blood- all good things (though he never took a urine sample, which is pretty standard). When I went in for the second time, he examined me and told me that my cervix was dilated. He also did a sonogram to check for a heartbeat. There was one, but he told me it was slow. He quickly turned off the machine and told me to go to his office, where he proceeded to tell me that I was most likely to going to have a miscarriage. To be specific, he told me he thought I had a 75% chance of miscarrying and that he had never seen a case like mine where the pregnancy ended up being successful. He went on to explain what the miscarriage would entail and told me I shouldn't travel home for Christmas as I had planned to do that week because it could happen at any moment. Understandably, I was completely heartbroken and scared of what was going to happen. Thankfully, I decided to seek a second opinion. As it turns out, my cervix was NOT dilated, the heartbeat he detected was within completely normal range, and I was not at risk of miscarrying. I carried to term, delivered at 40 weeks with no complications, and today have a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy the majority of my pregnancy because he set such a negative tone at the beginning with his misdiagnosis. I constantly worried that something would go wrong based on what he had told me. Although he is very nice and easy to communicate with, I would not recommend him. read more

Dr. Yu is the best. He's held my hand every step of the way of my first pregnancy, very calming and informative. I knew he was the baby doctor of choice when he told me that he's "got this," alleviating my worries about childbirth and allowing me to focus my efforts instead on everything that comes after baby is born. love love Dr. Yu! He answers all your questions. When you take blood test at his office, the turnover time is amazing - gets back to you the next day! When I had tests done at Roosevelt hospital, where he is affiliated, he went through the result and got back to me the very same day! Dr. Yu has been my Ob/Gyn for almost 3 years and delivered my first baby. Even though I've moved, I still plan to continue to go to him for regular visits and to deliver any future children. I've seen Dr. Yu for my annual check up for the past 3 years, and would follow him anywhere if he were to ever move out of NYC. It's worth paying the tolls and parking from NJ to see him, because he's just that awesome! I have a SEVERE phobia of needles and basically anything doctor/hospital-related, and he's been nothing but gentle and caring throughout my whole craziness that I put him though each year during the usual exam.
