Before seeing the doctor, I sent their office my insurance card and called to confirm they were in-network, accepted my plan, and that my visit would be governed under my plan. I have small kids and I can't afford to spend money on out-of-network providers. When I got my bill, it had me listed as a "cash payer," meaning that they weren't in-network and I'd have to pay my balance out of pocket. I called Dr. Palmer's office to discuss my bill. When billing picked up after a long hold, they were short with me, responding with, "I'm not even at my desk, you're going to have to hold on again--and what is your name?" Once I was finally able to explain my issue, I was told that although I have Anthem, Dr. Palmer does not contract with my specific plan. I explained that I had done my due diligence, called ahead, and was confirmed over the phone that my plan was accepted. Further, I told them that my insurance plan lists Dr. Palmer as a confirmed provider. Billing said they didn't "know what to tell me" that I should have checked with my insurance and it "wasn't [her] problem." I again explained that my insurance was already verified through her front desk and she again said "not our problem." She let me know that they regularly submit to insurance without verifying ahead of the visit. But when I told her that I specifically called ahead to address and avoid such an issue, she was unwilling to work with me. "I've been doing it this way for 40 years and that won't change. It's not my problem. Take it up with your insurance." As expected, my insurance says that I should have confirmed my plan with the provider's office before seeing them. I did. My insurance says that they shouldn't have confirmed my plan if the they didn't take it. I know. This lands on the provider. Had they not been too lazy to verify the plan like I had asked them, I would have had the accurate info I needed to make an informed consenting decision about my health care. I would not have seen this provider had the front desk actually done their job by addressing my query in good faith. I should have known what type of operation this place was. When I arrived at my appointment *early*, I was still made to wait over an hour longer than my scheduled appointment time. When I asked about the delay I was told, "This is normal procedure here. Going forward, you should know to call an hour before your appointment to see if the doctor is running behind schedule"--like it was *my* fault. TL;DR - Beware of this office. They are unprofessional and inconsiderate. And the standard for actually doing the bare minimum job duties is apparently too high of a bar to meet. They don't care how long they make you wait. They ask for your insurance before the visit and tell you that you're covered - without even verifying first. And if that leads to a surprise on your end of the bill, it's "not their problem" and they will do nothing to try to find a mutual solution. I would not trust this place. read more

I'm 33 and have been going to the chiropractor since I was a teenager, mostly due to sports injuries from grade school. Dr. Palmer is BY FAR the best of any I've been treated by... His adjustments are thorough, intentional, and never rushed. He has a tender touch and is quick to help give advice on how you can help mitigate issues by making little adjustments in your day to day, with the goal of you not needing to go to get adjustments as frequently as you may normally, so they can stick. During my treatment with him, I changed jobs and was working clear across town and ridiculous hours, and so I wasn't fitting my adjustments into my schedule. When I finally did go back, he didn't skip a beat on finding my problem areas again, making sure to be careful with certain 'hot spots' to keep me from pain, which is just more evidence that he doesn't rush through his patients, takes the time to review the file, and provides truly personalized treatments. You can 100% tell this isn't just about the money and churning out of patients for him. It's clear that he genuinely cares about wellness. It doesn't hurt that positivity pours out of him and his staff and you just always leave feeling great! I say all of this after not having made a visit in a few years now and even still, his amazing service and bedside manner have stayed with me as far more impressive than any other chiropractor I've seen over the years. 10/10 would highly recommend and continuously still do :-) If you're thinking of trying out a new chiropractor, trust me... go to Jeffrey. I accidentally ended up in this office after leaving another office in the building due to the extremely high cost that was not going to be going towards my deductible. I am so very happy I stumbled in there and that Dr. Palmer was able to see me. I've been under chiropractic care for 20plus years. My brother is a Chiropractor in Princeton NJ... not the easiest commute, so I found a great Dr who has been adjusting me in LA for 15 years, but he's on the west side. Also not the easiest commute. I can walk to Dr. Palmer and he is a really skilled chiropractor. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and tweaked my back this morning, his adjustment gave me immediate relief. First of all, and most important, I have never left his office without feeling substantially better (if not good as new). Secondly, you would have a difficult​ time finding a chiro who is equally talented as both a listener and a healer. Evidently,​ these two qualities support one another. Thirdly, Jeff​ is just the nicest guy, with a wonderful manner that is both friendly and professional. Dr. Palmer is really terrific per all the other 5-star reviews. However, if you are trying to use your Kaiser health insurance benefits, his office, like most, does honor the "discount" program but not the outpatient copay that Kaiser advertises. It took a couple of office visits paying upfront to figure this out. Save yourself by calling the company Kaiser contracts, currently ASH, to get a link to their "special" list of providers that honor copays. [It's not the same discount program provider list available on the Kaiser-linked member website.] Verify with the provider when you make the appt and document your due diligence. read more

I am in my 50s and have been practicing yoga steadily for 17 years. I have a strong practice but there a number of challenging poses that have always eluded me, like tricky arm balances. I have had two spinal fusions; one at C6-7 and one at L5-6. So, I never expected to conquer poses that I couldn't master when I was younger and fitter. Nor was I trying to. So, it has come as a great surprise that after seeing Dr. Palmer every two weeks for the past two months I am doing poses I never thought possible for me. Fantastic chiropractor! I was referred to him by a colleague who credited him with basically saving her life (she'd been through a few terrible car accidents and had severe trauma to her back and neck). Started seeing Dr. Palmer after a major car accident and have been under his care for a few months. He is just the right mix of professional, knowledgeable, and caring, and he has given me the greatest care. Besides adjustments, he's taught me exercises to speed up the healing and strengthen the areas in my neck, back, and legs that were affected; he has also been helping me rehab my knee after arthroscopic surgery in Oct. with exercises, massage, and physical therapy. When I first met Dr. Palmer, I could barely walk. My knee was locked up and hurt pretty bad. I could barely bend it. My friend recommended Dr. Palmer to me and so I went to see him, very skeptically. Most other chiropractors want to crack your neck and send you on your way. (What does that have to do with my knee??) Right from the beginning, my experience was different. Jeff talked to me and asked me in depth how the injury had occurred, what the symptoms were, where the pain was, etc. He examined my knee with different tests and ranges of motion. Within 45 minutes, he had located the center focal point of the pain and came up with a plan to make my knee better. And he did. After a few months and some hard work, my knee was back to normal. I went from now being able to walk comfortably to back on the basketball court and doing triathlons in no time. After that, I continued to see Jeff every couple of weeks to check in and make sure everything was alright. I have been his patient now for over 5 years now. He is very knowledgeable. You never feel rushed out of his office like other doctors I have visited. He makes time for you....to listen and to assess your situation. I would recommend him to anyone and I have.
