History about Irvine Ranch
Mary D.

This is a really cool place to walk, bike, or take your dog. Jeffrey Trail has paved, wide paths, and has nice public restrooms and benches. There are also doggie bag dispensers along the trail. The path has towering trees, and cool history about the Irvine Ranch. It has pedestrian bridges and tunnels so you don't have to cross major streets for added safety. The trail stretches for about 4 miles or so and is a good workout. You can either park in the neighborhood or park at Cypress Community Park. There is Bag of Cakes and Mokkoji nearby where you can grab a snack or meal afterwards.

This is another beautiful and well kept trail in Irvine. It's 2 1/2 miles from end to end. There's either a tunnel or bridge at every intersection so you don't have to deal with traffic. They have benches and restrooms along the way. Its perfect for walkers, joggers, and walking your dogs. There are plenty of stations to get poop bags. Along the way there are signs showing history. You will see mile markers too. I didn't notice a parking lot. Today I parked in a neighborhood. Normally my walks are long and I park at the Marketplace. I take the Peter's Canyon trail and branch off on other trails until Im at Jeffrey Open Space. OC bus 167 goes up Jeffrey if you want to take public transportation

I usually don't review parks/trails but I was very pleasantly surprised by this one! My husband and I were looking for a place for a nightly walk after dinner and found this place on reddit. There's not a designated parking lot, but plenty of parking alongside the street by the park. This park is HUGE with multiple ways to walk, tunnels, bridges, and cool little plaques about the history of California. It's super clean with no trash anywhere with super nicely paved roads. It also feels really safe at night, there were still a good (but small) amount of people on Monday evening running, biking, rucking, and walking their pets here. Great place to take a walk/ruck/run!!

This is a nice paved trail for walking. There are bathrooms available, benches on the side, open space greenery, and a few bridges to tunnel under or walk over. Has a few turns along the path and some spots of incline. Overall, a nice stroll. Parking in residential neighborhood.

As a kid who routinely biked from one end of town to the other, I love seeing these safe connections being built to literally bridge the Villages across Irvine.

Tunnel pass

Went for a run, felt safe, even after the sunset. They have light poles and many were out for a stroll. So I did not feel alone. Loves the diversity of ethnicities, heard different kind of languages spoke, that made me happy

One of the very chill parks to walk, run, bike, play volleyball...anything really! It's also a destination for a lot of photographers and groups who take special occassion photos. For those who are here for the sole reason of enjoying some fresh air and outdoors, this is a really nice spot. The park is pretty vast, where you can choose any spot to begin your activity adventure! The park itself is pretty lush, lots of greenery and paved trails. There's not really any hiker trails here, as majority of this park is fairly flat. But...a good workout here nonetheless! It's also a pet-friendly park, so you can bring your fury buddies. Parking is along streetside or if you're near the park, it can be within walking distance. There are also very clean restrooms around the park. Definitely love coming here.

This is one of the best paved walking trails in Irvine. It's relatively flat but you can get a good workout in as it's never very crowded. Different paths give you different scenery. Some paths make you believe you're one with nature as you can't see the main roads around you but you can still hear the traffic. You can walk one mile or five miles, it's really up to you. The path is shared with walkers, skateboarders, bikers etc so keep your ears open so you can move out of the way. The path is lit at night so you can also do night walks. There are restrooms on the path and they are reasonably clean. This is one of my favorite trails in Orange County.

Really nice trail. First time here to have our friend take our holiday photos check her out: https://instagram.com/shannacphotography?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA== We will definitely come back to ride our bikes here on the weekend. It's always hard to find a nice trail to leisurely ride a bike. Lots of people seem to take photos here so be weary of pedestrians as you run/bike the trails.

This trail is a bit of a destination for me but totally worth it! I love that you can walk the entire 5-mile trail (2.5 to the end and back) or cut it short and still get in a great workout while enjoying the scenery. I come here to walk my dog or stroll with friends, but there are runners, bikers, and lots of families along the trail as well. There's a water spout with a doggie bowl and drinking fountain in the middle of the trail, so I always make sure to stop here to replenish. I park at Cypress Community Park and walk from there, but many folks come straight from the neighborhood. If I lived in the area I would come here everyday!

The Jeffrey Open Space Trail area has lots of great open paths for walkers, runners and bicyclists alike. The trail extends from the 5 Freeway east to Portola Parkway and is a trail to explore with some tunnels and bridges to cross under and over. There is plenty of trees and plants all around to make you feel like you are in a forest. It is a good place to enjoy the nature while walking or cycling.

Decided to bring the pup here and give her a nice walk. The trail is nice and spacious, you just need to keep an eye out for bikers speeding by. You should bring water for your pup - the doggy water fountains are flooded and muddy. I wouldn't trust mans best friend to drink from the fountains there. Nice place to get your steps in and let the pups burn off some energy!

Visited this trail as a detour when we were in Irvine for the Pumpkin Patch. It was a very well paved and scenic road. There were a few bikers on the path and the space was well curated to include lots of nature. Good little stroll in Irvine.

Nice for kids, pets, biking. It's close to the street, so there is car noise but the scenery is beautiful and blocks most of it.

Hands down one of the cleanest, most convenient parks in the Irvine area!…read more There are several baseball fields, tons of gated tennis courts, playgrounds for the kids, countless picnic areas that are numbered for parties and gatherings. I think what makes this park stand out is the crowd. Any park can be beautiful but, without the proper maintenance from the park crew (and most importantly the park goers) it doesn't stand a chance. You see tons of regulars here with their dogs, families, kids. Everyone is friendly and respectful of one another. The dog crowd at this park is also one of the best I've seen. Although the park is not off leash, there's wide open areas for you to allow your fur family to play catch, run around, and have a bit of freedom! They do have a couple of posts that have doggie bags however, they run out quick so please do come prepared with your own poop bags just in case! There are plenty of water fountains throughout with water filling stations attached, so don't forget a bowl for your fur family!!

lol my old review ~2yr ago: "Just wish it had a bunch of pickleball courts". Ask and ye shall…read morereceive! Last Tues was their ribbon-cutting ceremony inaugurating 8 brand-new public pickleball courts in Irvine. + Tall fences to minimize ball-on interferences. + Many tables and benches to sit around. + Many clean restrooms 1-3mins walk away. + Enough baseline room for retrieving lobs. . Okay sideline room for ATPs. . Wide skill range there, from novices to high-intermediate players. - LONG wait. Since the first day, crowds rushed in to line up for open play. The rack is already full with 30+ paddles. + During middle of the day (lunchtime), it's empty. . Only one rack queue for all 4 (or 8) open-play courts. - Starting yesterday (Fri 2/6/26) the other 4 courts became reservation crts. -- On the first day, it was chaotic. My paddle was first in line. A game ended and someone called next 4 and gave me my paddle. I turned to hop on an open court, but no court was open. I turned back and the queue had already shifted along, so there was no spot at the front for me to put my paddle back. I asked around. One person said he was in the same situation, then he grabbed an open 4-paddle holder to put his paddle back in front of the line. I tried to put mine in, but he kept blocking me out to let his folks put theirs in. I was dumbfounded, disgruntled, distraught. No one cared to help my situation. An Irvine city employee walked by, and I explained my situation to him. He couldn't offer much help. After a few min, I accepted my miserable situation and put my paddle back in the end of the line. I only got to play 1 game that day. - The city employees should've known better. Keep 1 or 2 members monitoring the hectic paddle queue to ensure no one gets cut in line. . Moral of the day: before removing your paddle from the front of the line to hop on the next court, make sure you know which court # you're going to, make sure the ppl there are leaving, make sure the other 3 ppl in your group of 4 are going with you. . Idea: If you do wind up in my situation, and you've already lost your place in line, one thing you can try is grab an empty 4-paddle holder, squeeze it in to the front of the line, and put your paddle in. Offer any 3 random ppl (who are already near the front of the line) to join your 1st-place paddle holder. If people object, explain your sad situation first. If they remain adamant, I guess the mission's a no-go, then you'll end up having to return your paddle to the end of the line. I'm only just thinking of this idea now. Didn't get to try it while I was caught up in the moment. Hope the same thing doesn't happen to you.
