I went in to discuss a neck lift. Dr. Nelson told me to do TruSculpting first. I resisted because I have heard that all those non-invasive procedures are a waste of money. He said if it didn't work that he would do my neck lift at a discounted price. I spent $1700 on TruSculpting, which did nothing. Then when I came back he claimed that he never said he would discount my neck lift and refused to do it at all. Same saggy neck, out $1700. Fail! read more

I got work done by a surgeon in San Diego and wasn't completely satisfied with the results so the second time around I wanted to make sure I found a Dr. that I felt would achieve the look I wanted. I did lots of research and read reviews and settled on three surgeons that I liked. I met the first two and they were nice enough, but the moment I walked through the door of Dr. Nelson's office I knew this was the place for me. Audrey and Leslie at the front were very nice and welcoming and throughout the entire process did a great job following up and reminding me of appointments. Meeting with Dr. Nelson we talked about what I wanted, and he took the time to explain to me my options and what he recommended. Very easy to talk and he tells you like it is which is important when it comes to setting realistic expectations. The day of the surgery I was nervous because this was going to be a procedure where I was awake the entire time instead of being put under like I was the first time around. When I got to the office Cristina and Dr. Nelson did a great job of helping to settle my nerves and the surgery itself ended up being a breeze. Now I waited 6 months to write this review because I wanted to give me body time to heal so I could write an unbiased review. All I can say is THANK YOU to Dr. Nelson for a stellar job. I have had two major reconstruction procedures performed by Dr. Nelson. On my first visit I was completely impressed by the staff before I even met Dr. Nelson. My daughter was Dr. Nelson's patient for a double mastectomy and reconstruction. The most important recommendation I can make about Dr. Nelson is his obvious expertise. In May of 2019, I had a face and neck lift performed by Dr. Jeffrey Nelson. He recommended a chemical peel and also a little bit of work on my eyelids. Dr. Nelson is a superb plastic surgeon. He is extremely meticulous in his work. I could not have asked for better results following my prophylactic bilateral mastectomies. Sad they don't want to help military personal or have the time to call me back about my previous calls. Dr. Nelson did an amazing job on my breast augmentation surgery! After one year post-procedures, a great improvement is apparent but not as great as I had hoped. The literature does say subsequent procedures may be necessary for optimum results and I will not go down that road again. The recovery is painful and not something to undertake lightly. Post procedure, I have a small knot on one cheekbone which is the result of the suturing done under the surface of the skin. The folds in my lids are (thankfully) gone but my eyes look a little droopy. The major lines in my cheeks are also gone but the skin around my mouth doesn't look too different than pre-procedure. The procedure entailed incisions in the scalp which minimized or nearly reduced the amount of scars I thought I would see. The doctor is very skilled. Skin care is a major onging part of maintaining the cosmetic surgery results. This office sells a number of cosmetic lines and also schedules injections of fillers. All in all, I am satisfied with the result, thought the price was fair, and feel my overall appearance wasn't transformed into some plastic surgery horror story. read more

Went to him for consultation of breast reduction and he suggested send to my insurance for coverage and his staff said they would submit it that day. 2 months and 3 calls to his rude office staff later I was told they were busy with other patients and hadn't gotten to it earlier but had submitted my claim to my insurance "recently " but when I asked for the date submitted she couldn't give me one. I Called my insurance carrier and Dr Nelson's staff had lied to me. They had not submitted anything! I filed fraud claim with my insurance because his staff lied to me. I called to ask for information regarding closing my gauges. Of course the lady I spoke to on the phone said "we can't be sure unless you have a consult." Understandable. When I then asked absolute worst case scenario, most expensive case she then said "it ranges from $350 to $750. The latter being the max" I asked "per ear?" She said "No. for both ear lobes." She told me this after I had mentioned my gauge size and that my ears were definitely NOT worse case scenario. She confirmed that $750 would be the max. I agree to a consult. Drive 45 minutes across town. Pay a $50 non-refundable fee, only to be told that it was instead gonna be $1,900. Lady in the front could only say "yeah, I'm sorry, every case is different blah blah blah. You want to talk about running a scam? Here ya go! Just thought I'd share my experience. read more

I Had a double Mastectomy and reconstruction: I was referred to Dr. Nelson from my Breast Surgeon, who would not work with anyone else when doing my Bilateral Mastectomy. I interviewed Plastic Surgeons who had various qualities such as bedside manners, experience, and communication skills. My consultation with Dr. Nelson was very informative and hands down more professional and experienced than any doctor I had discussed my situation with. I left knowing I was in good hands. I went with Dr. Nelson, because he has a no nonsense/"tell you how it is" attitude. I love and appreciate his honesty and his experience speaks for itself. I was dealing with the most stressful and scary time in my life with breast cancer. I wanted someone who would get to the point and spend the time needed with me to make sure I understood my options, what he could and couldn't do. I have had a total of four surgeries to complete my reconstruction, which included a lift/nipple sparing, expander placement, implant placements, and an additional reconstruction surgery due nerve pain. I trust Dr. Nelson with my life and will continue to do so if I ever need anything else. He is very professional, kind, compassionate, caring, good humored, honest, and a true artist in his field. I will always recommend Dr. Nelson for any cosmetic surgery, especially reconstructive breast surgery. His staff is wonderful and very attentive. A true joy to see them each visit. I had to spend almost 12,000 dlls to fix my nose after a bad rhinoplasty performed by Dr Nelson. After the surgery he scheduled follow up visits to check the progress and see how I was healing. It was obvious that something went wrong but he did not care much about it. My nose was torqued, the tip of the nose collapsed... a total disaster. He kept saying we need to wait. So I waited almost 1 year because that's the time your nose takes to heal completely after this kind of surgery, I was deeply disappointed when he said " I can try again and I see If I can get a better result but I don't think it would work. If I was you I would leave it like that. " My nose looked bad, worse than before the surgery. I could tell that he wasn't the right doctor to fix his own mistake so I began searching for options and this time I visited a couple doctors in town. Finally I had a second surgery ( a revision which always is more expensive than the first procedure because the new doctor had to perform almost a miracle to fix someone else's job.) Thanks God the second surgery was a success and my nose looks symmetric, the tip looks natural and lifted, I had to pay almost $12,000 to have it done right. So be careful. Dr. Nelson really impressed me. Very knowledgeable and did a great job on my procedure. He is a little "rushed" at times making you feel like you have to hurry and ask questions but always answers them and does seem irritated at all. His Assistant Cristina was amazing. I went to see Dr Nelson for a consultation, he spent 1.5 hours with me for a "free" appointment. After much consideration I did go forward with the surgery. I can't say enough about this man and his staff. They were very kind, supportive and NEVER made me feel bad about calling with questions after surgery. Prior to surgery he took the time to answer all of my questions to make an educated decision. I have had some minor issues post op (my healing, not surgical), and he has seen me, again answering all questions along the way. I have talked with the staff and they have always made time to answer questions and help me along my journey. As a nurse I have worked with many specialists, have sat in many specialists office that don't take the time, or respect your time (make you wait for hours in their offices).
