I'm consistently impressed with the level of genuine care Dr. Cohen demonstrates towards his patients. For someone who has always had a phobia of going to the dentist, I'm always instantly at ease when speaking with Dr. Cohen. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he takes the time to always listen to your concerns and demonstrates a compassionate approach to addressing them. Dr. Cohen and his team are great at explaining what they are doing during every step of any procedure and are an absolute pleasure to work with. I had a horrible phobia of the dentist for many years and never went to the dentist. When I finally went to Dr. Cohen there was no judgement and he and his staff got me back on track very quickly. Although I sometimes still have issues due to my past neglect, Dr. Cohen always fixes any issues that come up. During COVID when they had to shut down for normal business except emergencies, I called Dr. Cohen with an emergency. Within a day he allowed me to come in and fixed my problem. He even follows up with a text or phone call just to make sure everything is going well. He truly cares about his patients. My entire family is seen by Dr. Cohen and he is highly trusted. His office staff and assistants are also great and we always feel well taken care of. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen's office for any dental work you may need. read more

My decision to switch from my prior dentist was based on their decision to stop accepting my insurance; therefore, I was stuck paying higher out of pocket costs. I also had an issue with one of their hygienists who babbled on incessantly about her cats while she scraped my gums raw and bloody with a rusty butter knife. My neighbor recommended Dr. Cohen and he's located close to my house, so I figured it was worth a shot. WINNING! Dr. Cohen made me realize what I was missing. He almost makes you ENJOY going to the dentist (well, almost - it's never my favorite place to be). He's a soft spoken guy with a great sense of humor and always makes you feel comfortable even with your mouth stretched open to its maximum circumference. The front office staff are cheerful, helpful and very easy going. They never seem stressed out or flummoxed when you need to reschedule or have some complication. The hygienists I've had are all gentle and do an amazing job of cleaning and polishing my pearly whites. The office is clean, bright, airy and convenient. My family (including myself) have been patrons of this dentist office for probably almost 15 years now. All I can say is that the people here are amazing. Dr. Cohen himself is an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guy who provides nothing, but professional and personable service. The staff he has on his team are extremely knowledgeable as well and never fail to keep us feeling comfortable. As most of us are, going to the dentist is not the most exciting place to go... especially since there are so many people who dread going, but I honestly feel like my mouth/teeth are in good hands every time I have an appointment and/or a different reason to come in. Their office is small and might be hard to find (parking lot is laid out a little weird), but it is so close to our house and as long as Dr. Cohen and his staff stay the same, I'm sure we will continue to patronize this awesome business. I will say though, that I dearly miss Paula who used to work the front desk (for the longest time). I'm referring to the smaller Asian-American lady. She was seriously the nicest and friendliest lady ever. So is Carolyn, but I never see her since I usually only come in on Fridays. Best dentist ever. I have severe dental anxiety and unfortunately chewed ice for most of my life which did a number on my teeth. He and his staff deal with my anxiety so much better than you'd expect. I cannot say enough in that regard. Plus, they are all just generally nice people. OK. I know it's weird, but I actually LIKE going to the dentist. I never really liked it before. Well, not until I came to Dr. Cohen's office. After not visiting ANY dentist in WAY too long, I had an emergency situation one morning. I checked the dentists on my PPO list and Dr. Cohen was closest to my house. I called at 8:15, explained my situation and was scheduled for an appointment at...8:45?!! Wow! I never thought THAT would happen. Dr. Cohen and his staff are all pleasant and professional. Paula even filled out my info on my prescription for me! You know, so when I went to the pharmacy, all I had to do was hand them a piece of paper. I've NEVER had anyone do that. I've been back to Dr. Cohen's office MANY times since my first visit and I ALWAYS leave with a smile. Now, how many people do you know that can say that about their dentist? Unfortunately, if you require to be put out by means of "gas" in order to receive dental services, you will have to find another dentist...and that really sucks for you. read more

Earlier this year, I had a mild toothache and I wanted to get it checked out soon. My regular dentist of over 15 years had recently retired, so I came to Yelp to find a new dentist. I called Dr. Cohen's office and the staff was very friendly over the phone. They scheduled me for 7 am two days later (only because my schedule is hectic, otherwise they would have seen me that afternoon). I had not been to the dentist in over a year and half because I no longer had dental insurance. When Dr. Cohen and I finally met, he did not give me any guilt trips or rude remarks as other dentists and doctors usually do. That alone was reason enough for me to come back. He is very friendly and genuinely cares about your oral health which might be why he doesn't waste time chastising you. He spent a few minutes going over the X-rays with me and telling me about what I could do to prevent pain, including quick and inexpensive fixes for a broke college student like me. His prices are reasonable for cash patients. You can also ask for a quote over the phone so that the bill doesn't make you fall backwards when you see it. I went back to Dr. Cohen with my little brother today. My brother is terrified of the dentist, so he hadn't been to the dentist in a while. Again, no guilt trips. Dr. Cohen made my brother feel completely at ease, taking time to fully explain the X-rays to him as well. We are very thankful because he really took his time with us. Even after two extractions, my brother told me on the drive home that he actually looks forward to his next appointment! I almost hate to share this review because I don't want everyone to find out about this gem of an office. Nevertheless, go to Dr. Cohen if you know what's good for you! read more

My husband has been going to Dr. Cohen for a few years and really enjoys him. My children started seeing him about a year ago and also like him. His staff is very personable and professional. The dental hygienists are such sweet ladies. They run the office they way a dental office should be run. Dr. Cohen is a dentist that will take TIME with you. He never appears rushed. He is a genuinely kind man. I must note two things: 1) It is a very busy office and always booked months in advance. 2) If you need a dental procedure that is not covered by your insurance, Dr. Cohen's fees do seem consistently higher compared to other dentists in the area based on my research and experience. For example, he charges $50 per molar for sealants on a child, where I have found several other local dentists who charge around $40. Also, when I compared the fees his office submitted to the insurance company for routine exams and xrays, all of Dr. Cohen's fees are higher than our previous PPO dentist charged. However, because of his gentleness, like-ability, and my families overall positive experience, we have decided to pay the higher fees. This place is great...for a dentist :) I love all the things to look at while waiting and the friendly staff too! The dentist is very caring and gentle, and definitely goes the extra mile to please his patients! I recently had spinal surgery and knew that I was going to be out of commission for a while. I was so busy preparing for the surgery that I forgot that I had three teeth that needed work done. These guys did everything they could to fit me in on two different days so that I could get the work done just in time before my neck surgery. It really proved to me that they care about their patients and it is as close to feeling like family that I've ever experienced at a dentist. Great job guys, thanks for all your help. I came to Dr. Cohen after my sister recommended him. I had chipped a tooth and needed to dentist ASAP! Dr. Cohen and all his staff are very friendly and accomadating. My tooth was fixed without any complaints. I made an appointment to finally have my teeth cleaned, whch I hadnt done for 6-7 years, due to lack of insurance! Not only did i not get a guilt trip, it was a pleasant experience. I've got to agree with the previous poster. I was very much impressed with not only this Dentist, but the entire staff. Friendly, professional, courteous, and despite it being my very first visit, I felt very much like a person, and a valued patient, not simply a number or a random mouth. I have not had the luxury of dental insurance, or even a big income to afford a lot of dental work. They didn't make me feel bad about this, they simply gave me my options, and a roadmap of work to be done, and left me feeling like I am sure I would get excellent care in the future as well. There response to her request was we only take PPO insurance and if you want a cleaning there nothing available until April of next year. That's 8 months from now. UPDATE!!! 11/20/12 As you will read, I don't like going to the dentist. Because of him working with me, I have been able to start the treatment plan. Today I went back and had a Crown on a back molar. Same great care as last time. No pain. No anxiety. 11/03/12 I write this two days after the extraction of one of my molars. The back story is that I have a fear of dental work so when I broke my tooth over two years ago I knew that I was in a delima. I met Dr. Cohen over a year after the accident and he told me that my tooth was in trouble and gave me different options. Due to my fear, I did not follow his recommendations. He was willing and did set up a series of exposure practice runs for me so that I would feel more comfortable. All at the time and date that I chose and WITHOUT CHARGE!!!! Ultimately I was able to get the procedure done and am so thankful for his patience and compassion. The day following the procedure, Dr. Cohen called me to see how I was doing. He then gave me his personal cell number with instructions to call him if I had questions or concerns. What dentist does that! His office staff has also been very encouraging and supportive. No doubt that without them, I would still be suffering in pain. If you need a great dentist, look no further. Patience and compassion are words that I have seen in many of the reviews here. No words could be more accurate. As for pricing, I disagree with one of the other raters. I found it to be very fair. Consider this....I went in there at least 8 times prior to having the actual procedure and wasn't billed a penny nor was the insurance. Additionally, he will spend what ever time you need to either answer all of your questions to your satisfaction or make you feel at ease. On a side note...I have never had to wait when I arrive. to say i'm not a huge fan of the dentist is quite possibly the understatement of the year... i recently switched dentists (due to location), and completely lucked into finding Dr. Cohen's office. my first visit was yesterday, and i wound up having to get a root canal (fun!). i was extremely anxious, but not only was the staff INCREDIBLE, and extraordinarily nice, but Dr. Cohen made me feel comfortable, was patient, answered all of my questions, and was very gentle. seriously, these people are SO NICE. (i actually thanked them for their niceness about 5 times) i would absolutely recommend this practice, and i am so thankful that i made this switch. i'm still not a huge fan of going to the dentist though. but one step at a time, right? read more

From the initial greeting via phone to schedule an appointment, every single member of the staff is friendly, polite, professional, and truly cares. There is help with insurance questions and billing, never any billing or insurance mix ups...and we deal with 3 separate plans across 4 accounts. It's incredibly refreshing to have such a delightful and professional front desk team in a medical office! The hygienists and assistants are top notch! All so kind, thoughtful and GREAT! Disaster after disaster with Jeffery Cohen. Please stay away from him when it comes to your teeth. #1; office says your dental insurance will pay for it or most of it; after he does the work your informed your insurance won't pay for any of what he did; than he filed a small claim suit. "If I was told the truth on insurance, I would not have gone ahead with the procedure. Good thing small claims has no teeth...I never paid him for his dishonest practices. #2. Did a crown on my wife without a root canal first which turned out to be a very bad decision; she was in horrible pain all the whole Jeffery insisted it didn't need one "bull" he eventually drilled through an expensive cap & did the root canal & the pain stopped. He's not only a incompetent dentist; he & his office manager & him are dishonest. Stay away from him & his dishonest incompetence office. I would not recommend this place and the dentist at all: 1) I had an appointment for 7:30 am for a small filling. The doctor was working on so many other patients at the same time, that I spent 2 hours on the chair for this small cavity and got late for work. Also, he put me an amalgam filling without telling me, which I would have never allowed. Thirdly, the filling fell one year later (and I chewed it and almost broke another tooth with it). 2) On my first appointment (the above one was the second and last one) he was extracting a tooth. Again, the waiting time on the chair was a lot due to working on multiple patients simultaneously. The extraction was painful (not enough anesthesia) and after that it was bleeding for more than a week (sloppy and incompetent job). The extracted tooth had a lot of gum (and blood) on it - I guess he didn't separate the gum before the extraction and tore it much more. I had two other wisdom teeth extracted by different dentists - the bleeding lasted no more than a day. Overall you don't have a sense for a clean place there and the front desk is rude, especially if you ask them to send you your xrays. read more

I recently, 2 years ago moved to Palm Springs. I tried some local places in Palm Springs but it was all about up selling services not really about dental care. So I'm back at Dr. Cohen's office for my my dental care. It's a 2-3 hour drive but so worth it. He is awesome, gentle and thoughtful, plus just a great dentist.
