Long and venting review, feel free to read it all. TL:DR at the bottom After years of trouble in my nose from a car accident, I saw this doctor looking for a fix. Surgery was the only option, he said. He tacked on turbinate reduction to it, said it was "necessary" given my symptoms. Start taking notes - this was the first of many profit-first decisions this awful man made. The recovery was to be a week until things went from worse to better, and symptoms should have been gone after a month. Two months later, constant cold sensations in my nose would not go away, and the doctor's solution was to prescribe antibiotics and all sorts of other drugs that only made me feel worse. It was at this point I started to receive notes from my insurance company about the overbilling from the outpatient facilities that performed the surgery, and how the insurance viewed the charges as "exorbitantly high" relative to similar procedures from other doctors, stating that they would not be paying the full amount. It was at this point I realized he was in it not for the patient, but for the money. This is something I likely should have realized long ago, given his wife's proclivity for large, gaudy diamonds and other jewelry (she works in the reception). When a search revealed not only a multimillion dollar New Jersey mansion, but a multimillion dollar Hamptons home, concern bells went off, and I never went back to the doctor's office. Upon visiting other ENTs, they remarked how they had a very poor relationship with Ahn, seeing many patients that he had unnecessarily bestowed expensive and ultimately harmful procedures upon. It was at this point that it was revealed to me that Ahn's procedure had caused me extensive damage to my nose. Worse yet, examination of my pre-surgery scans, the doctors I visited said they would have recommended several other treatments before resorting to surgery, and they were shocked it was a first resort instead of a last one. This has led me to tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills. Since I can't afford them, and insurance won't cover many of the treatments, this has translated into thousands of dollars in credit card debt. Ahn's office is completely unforgiving, continuing to insist that I take antibiotics for a condition that is anything but infectious. He does this all while overbilling his patients on every procedure - having performed many thousands over the course of his career - enriching himself at the misery of the percentage of patients whose surgeries he messes up and remains unapologetic for. While I thought that Ahn would have some semblance of honor and help assist in treatment, he has instead shunned me as a patient and a person, refusing to offer any medical or otherwise assistance, as my physical and financial condition continue to deteriorate. He is completely honorless, spineless, and soulless. Insistent that I am to blame for my own medical condition, this man has made my life irreparably worse - not only with permanent damage to my body, but by also forcing me to liquidate my savings and go into debt to help repair it. So long as he continues to refuse to rectify his mistakes, I will be here, there, and everywhere. Reminding everyone in the world what this man has done to me, both through treating his patients solely as a vehicle to further pad his already overflowing bank, and through disregarding and insulting the ones whose lives he has irreparably damaged. TL:DR - I have nothing but the worst wishes for this man. Do yourself a favor, and avoid him like the plague. If I had to describe Ahn in just one word, it would be "subhuman." read more

Hate to write a bad review, but I feel he is doing more bad than good. I've been going to him and off for over 10 yrs. So, I have a very good sense of everyone working in the office(s). Typically a visit to Dr. Ahn is awful from the second you step in the door, till the moment you leave. The receptionist is usually a very rude asian girl who's english is not 100%. Instead of a normal greeting like "hello", it's "what are you here for? did you make an appt? you can't park there!!". Or even better, she doesn't speak to you at all and continues her phone conversation for 15-20mins. Then when she finally gets off, she tells you you're 15 mins late. But you walked in 15-20mins ago ON TIME. You then will wait an hour at the MINIMUM to see the doctor. If Dr. Ahn's first appt of the day is 10am, he will usually drive into the lot at 11:30 and blame city traffic. This is why he always runs hours late on his appts and his surgeries. He also NEVER apologizes for making you wait hours. On one consult (where I waited 1.5 hrs to see him), he spoke to me for 10 mins about a major surgery and then said, "Ok I dont have a lot of time, I have to wrap this up before it gets too crazy out there." When I had a surgery scheduled with him, they insisted I come in at 8:30am. He showed up at 11:30 and finally performed surgery at 12:30. What kind of doctor makes a patient wait for 4 hours? I checked google maps and there was no traffic. He probably just got up late. He then didn't remember what we discussed in our prior consultation and brought up new problems 20 mins before performing surgery! So now I'm waiting 4 hours for you to show up and then you want to change everything you told me you were going to do? Completely unprofessional. Most of what the other previous reviewers have said are true. He is very rude, cocky, insensitive, and only cares about money. Priscilla (his wife) who usually works the front desk also comes off as money grubbing and materialistic. Dressed inappropriately (in my opinion), she is dripping in diamonds and uber expensive designer brands. Now, you know where the money is going. Also, Priscilla is the one who prices everything. She in fact will sometimes schedule you for all these procedures you do not need so they can bill the insurance co. It is also true that if anything goes wrong or if you bring up any issues, they will get very angry and rude. They will blame you that you didn't take appropriate care or that you didn't explain your concerns clearly. Also true, they never close the door to the patient's room. I don't know the reason for this. Please stay away from this doctor. I was too naive and accepted that maybe this is the way doctors operate. But once I spoke to many other people that knew him, I knew it wasn't that. They only want to make money and a lot of money at that. They're obsessed with money! I do believe there is insurance fraud going on here. I hope someone will one day be able to prove it. read more

I am 39 years old, had tonsil problems for more than 10 years, was advised in France to get tonsillectomy but I was too scared. The past couple of years have been so bad that I decided it was time. I met with Dr Ahn who was very patient in discussing the different options and listening to my concerns. I decided to go forward with surgery. The day of the surgery I got very nervous but Dr Ahn himself, dr Chad the anesthesiologist and the entire staff were so kind and supportive that I was able to relax. The surgery went more than well and as I woke up they were all so caring that I felt home. It's now been 9 days, I had to call a couple time and Dr Ahn was always available for questions and to see me. I saw him on Thursday for the one week follow up appointment and told him I was doing fine but the pain was strong and I couldn't eat, he stayed explaining the recovery process to me, I had so many questions... he had prepared me well for what to expect but no matter how, you always have questions the following days. That day I stayed past office hours as he wanted to make sure I was ok to go home and he didn't even charge me. His main concern is the welfare and well being of his patients and i felt such in good hands. I am so glad I did not read the reviews before going as I would have missed out on being treated by one of the best doctors in my life. His professionalism, his understanding, availability and the kindness of his staff made this experience a good one. Maybe there is a lot of competition in this field and this is the reason for the bad reviews? I just cannot comprehend, it's like those people are talking about another doctor, a different staff... so grateful for the care I received and for not reading those reviews that would have deterred me from going. "Apparently, shoving a finger full of vaseline into your patient's nose = surgery." It's been several years since I've been a patient of this doctor's. I had made an appointment because I had recurring and frequent nosebleeds. I regret doing so however because all the doctor did was swab Vaseline in my nose, each of my three or so visits there. I was just a kid back then, but I still to this day remember the words "Nurse, bring me, lots and LOTS of vaseline." After smearing the inside of my nose with a pound of Vaseline (#hyperbole), he would send me home. I don't get why he couldn't just tell me to do that on my own after diagnosing me during my first visit. Weeks later, my family received a bill that said I had a surgical procedure done, so we had to deal with insurance to let them know that was BS. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was just a clerical error on his office's part, but regardless I'm glad I never went back. read more

I have been going to Dr. Ahn for 2 years for allergy shots. I have only had good experiences in my interactions with Dr. Ahn and his staff. In all honesty, I probably have only seen Dr. Ahn two times, once for my initial consultation and the second time when starting my allergy shots to go over the risks and benefits. I have interacted with his nurses and the receptionist dozens of times though and it has always been a pleasant experience. In the past they had some receptionists whose English was difficult to understand, but that is no longer the case. The parking situation is also pretty good there now. There is a dedicated office parking lot with about a dozen spaces next to the office. This is a new change from when I started going here and corrected my only complaint about the place was that parking used to be difficult. read more

If I could give a zero star, I would. Simply put. This man ruined my life. DONT MESS WITH YOUR NOSE- specifically your turbinates. I completely regret sinus surgery as I'm now dealing with nerve damage/facial pain and symptoms of Empty nose syndrome. Look it up and educate yourselves. I have severe insomnia, lack of breathing sensation, constant body tingles, swallowing issues/difficulty, breath in cold air and the list goes on. My life has been completely altered in the worst way possible. Normal activities are now challenging. I'll never forgive myself for allowing this ENT to butcher my nose. read more

Dr Ahn has very indredible credentials and good surgical skills. Unfortunately he has such cold attitude towards patients. Often scolds patients at will and the only time I see him smile is when patients sign up for surgery. The wife serve as an office manager and is in charge of negotiating surgical fees. Quite honestly, she could have stayed at home since it is so apparent that office management is not her strength. The attitude is very mechanical and there is not a single slice of enthusiam about patients at all. read more

I have had terrible allergies for a better part of my life. It would get much worse in spring seasons and I would get rashes and other uncomfortable symptoms. I started receiving allergy shot treatment from Dr. Ahn and the results have been amazing. I no longer suffer from those annoying symptoms and feel much better. He is skilled surgeon. I give my results a 7/10 however his manners are awful and I seriously wish I never gave that clinic my business. I got my sinus surgery here in 2018. Dr. Ahn was very kind when explaining my condition and why the surgery was necessary. I was suffering from sinus problems for several years, and I'm happy to say I'm very pleased with the results. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well. read more
