I went in to see Dr. Adeyi for my annual physical, and my visit exceeded expectations. Parking was ample and convenient. The facility is modern, clean, and looks beautiful. The front desk staff was kind and attentive (they even brought me cold water!). I was taken to the back by Nurse Florrie, who is just the sweetest woman. She was friendly, kept the mood light, and listened actively while I took her down the long, twisty road of my medical history. She, along with the front desk staff set the tone for my visit, and helped put my mind at ease. Dr. Adeyi was everything I hoped she would be, and more. Her reputation preceeded her, but even still, she exceeded my expectations. She was so kind, patient, and compassionate. I am usually very nervous in doctors' offices, due to some trauma from previous experiences. With Dr. Adeyi and Florrie, I never once felt uncomfortable. I felt that Dr. Adeyi really aimed to collaborate with me on my care, balancing her expertise with my preferences and lived experiences. Finally, I have a place that I can call home for my healthcare, with providers I can trust. I look forward to feeling like the best version of myself, as I feel like I have found the people that can help me do that!

I had called (Wed, July10 at…read more10:06am) to see if we could get a bladder infection test ordered as my mom recognizes the early signs of them coming on. I told Hailey that mom was not in pain so not an urgent matter but would like to get the testing and treatment process started. My mother, Ethelyn Foley had taken her first outing on the bus and gone to get her hair done at a nearby salon around 1:00 on Wednesday. We got no further communication from Hartley as far as timing or appointment times were concerned. My mother reports that as she was sitting in the hairdressers chair, a woman walked in asking for her by name. My mom acknowledged that was her name. The woman approached an crouched down next to mom and said, "We understand you might be getting a bladder infection. We are here to take your urine sample for testing. You can go to their bathroom in the back and go ahead and give us a sample in this cup (holding up a sample cup). My mother is very hard of hearing (she is 100 years old) and could not understand what she was being asked for. The nurse repeated herself more loudly now - so mom could hear. Mom was so stunned and confused she reluctantly complied with the request going into the bathroom at the salon and give a urine sample for the lady - at a hair salon! Everyone in the salon saw and heard what had transpired and mom was mortified. She was so shocked and embarrassed she did not know what to do. I called her later in the day to see if she enjoyed gertting her hair done and this is the story I was told. I am angry at the unprofessionalism of that action and feel like her HIPPA rights have been grievously violated. I will be seeking legal advice on this matter.
