I've had significant experience with sophisticated forms of massage therapy, including maybe 50 sessions of Rolfing from other practitioners before meeting Jeffrey. Most have been good, some have been superior, Jan Sultan was great but couldn't dedicate the time my unusually complicated body needed. Jeffrey is a master of Rolfing and it showed the very first session. I have completed 2 ten series and an advanced 5, but the subtle precision with which he talked to my body was unmistakable--I felt him make my body start breathing again at session 1. It was as if I had never been truly rolfed before. Session two I felt my legs root into the ground despite my anatomy. Every session after has changed the dynamics of my interaction with gravity. Jeffrey is amazing. I have neck and back issues from snowboarding for years and I've been going to chiropractors for years for temporary fixes. Jeff was a huge help. He's very intuitive and can find the root cause of issues. After visiting many chiropractors, massage therapists, and even getting facet block injections in the past to block pain, One session with Jeff made more of a difference than any of these things. I recently received a series of 3 rolfing/Structural Integration sessions from Jeffrey. Having received work from some excellent practitioners in the past, including Dr Rolf's proteges when they were still alive and working, in recent years I found myself unable to find someone who's work was at the level that I felt I needed. I have received hundreds of rolfing sessions, from many different rolfers over the years, and of the ones who are still alive and practicing, Jeffrey is one of the very best. He studied extensively with the best instructors, has a great deal experience, and a natural talent for the work he does. I also feel how he genuinely wants to help, and make a real difference. Rolfing is not like any other method of healing, and it has to be done by someone who was rigorously trained by the masters or it won't work. Jeffrey is that exceptional practitioner and master of the method - the only one in Southern California-- whose expertise, intuition and skill has the ability to change not only how you feel but how you stand, breathe, etc. The fact that it only takes ten sessions is also incredible. I came to my first session wired tight and tangled with tension and even after the first session found my body opened up and lengthened. It has only gotten better since. Since I was little, I had back and neck pain because of my scoliosis. I've seen countless chiropractors, acupuncturists, reiki practitioners, egoscue healers, physical therapists, pilates/yoga instructors, you name it...I've tried it. Ultimately, nothing was fixing the root cause of my problem, and my habits/behaviors were making everything worse, including doing lots of HIIT exercises, weights, and being at a computer all day long. He is highly experienced and intuitive about the body, able to quickly detect where the root cause of my tension was so that he could begin unlocking my body and my fascia. I've seen my body shift meaningfully since seeing him - it's subtle, like the rotation of my ribs, or how I can stand evenly on both feet with comfort, but it's life-changing in terms of how my body feels and how I'm able to move without pain. Jeffrey is truly the best Rolfer! Highly professional and he really listens and sees where you are at with your body and posture. He has a gift! I have experienced many different body workers as I have had lower back pain, shoulder and hip issues from running, standing long hours, lifting , which has just built up stress on my body. A quick and to the point review really doesn't do justice to the amazing transformation I've experienced on so many levels after getting Rolfed by Jeffrey. At first I thought I was going to write about each session specifically because I couldn't keep up with all the transformations from each session, but I'd have to start a blog for that! Jeffrey really knows how to work with the ever so complicated human body, in whatever state it may be in, and re-calibrate it back to homeostasis. I was so intrigued by the immense help I got from Rolfing, that I actually read Ida Rolfs book(Ida Rolf is the creator of Rolfing, and Jeffrey happened to be taught by one of her main disciples). Well, when I first came to Jeffrey, I had been through a cumulative of years of depression and anxiety on and off in my life, had a ridiculous addiction to sugar, I had a lot of issues with anger and grieving, and was overall very lethargic, where I only had enough energy to get to work and back, and that was it. After my ten sessions with Jeff, I now have loads of energy, and not the type of energy you get from coffee, but the type that makes your eyes glow and makes you want to get out in nature, get in touch with people, eat healthy, and resonate on a loving frequency like we did when we were little kids full of trust. Given how I was addicted to sugar, for me to now crave freshly pressed vegetable juices, and to not over eat to stay grounded, is a miracle! My body's energy system has recalibrated and I no longer have deficiencies that cause the serious cravings I was a slave to prior. My perspective on life is more balanced, my maturity from all I have learned over the years is finally at the forefront because my body seamlessly processed stuck emotions which resulted in my growth over all these years to integrate into a whole self. Amazing how structural realignment, which is what Rolfing is, can affect your physiology, and thus effect a psychological change. I also not only sleep GREAT, I have very vivid dreams which I can clearly remember long after waking. I have enthusiasm again! My body is more limber, it feels like one seamless whole, as opposed to connected parts where one is pulling the other. After my tenth session, I went into a health food store where I have gotten to know one of their well-respected wellness advisors, and she jumped towards me to give me a hug, exclaiming how radiant and grounded I looked, stating my body does not only have a fluid movement to it, but moves with strength, like there is a new source of power in me (I have not lifted one weight since I saw Jeffrey). I used to also not be able to sit in a chair for longer that ten minutes without fidgeting because of a stiff lower back, and just after two sessions that problem was gone, never to appear again! One thing I want to point out, is that I am constantly getting better. Even though I am done with the ten sessions, my body is still continuing to get back to all of its equilibriums thanks to Jeff having created the space it needed to realign itself. These changes aren't just felt, the integration of your whole self is so powerful that there is not an hour that passes by without me seeing these changes leading to better results in all that I do- whether it be within, or life actually manifesting before me in a profoundly more harmonious way; It is said that your outer manifestations are a reflection of your inner state- thanks to Jeffrey, I've been able to experience the truth of that statement. In passing other clients while in and out of sessions with Jeffrey, I have heard of people stating how they got relieved from much more serious conditions, that they were unable to get help for over a course of years of seeing several doctors. Sometimes we just need someone to bring us back to the state that nature intended us to be in, and all else starts to fall into place. I can't wait for the advanced work! There's really nothing else like what Jeffrey does. I have had some great sports massage and body work but it always focused on just my back and neck and weeks later the pain and tightness would return. But with Jeffrey, I truly feel like my body is completely changing and every joint in my body seems to move smoother and easier. I have had nine sessions with Jeffrey and the change is remarkable. Jeffrey must be sent by God! My back was hurting so much, i would be in tears trying to move, there were days getting out of the bed was an accomplishment, i have a dislocated kneecap and previously dislocated shoulder that sits wrong and I'm only 28. Been doing yoga for years with no difference. Difference was Jeffrey! I have waited months after our 10 sessions to write this review so I can be more sure of the difference. We did 10 sessions together, what he does is painful and hard, takes time, and you feel cranky the next few days because your body is changed so much! He transformed my extremely stressed body, my shoulder popped back in the right place for the first time since high school, my knee was corrected enough so I could start running again, he corrected my posture I even got an inch taller. Since then, for months I've been so much better and more mobile! I was feeling my body change every session but was so stressed, it didn't completely release till 8th session. By the end of 10th I felt young and fluid for the first time in years. I've been under stress since the end of our sessions but due to the transformation Jeffrey achieved, i never went back to hurting like i used to. Please keep in mind it's not a massage, it's adjusting of your body, and your body gets cranky and hurts to go back to the terrible way it was, but if you stick with it it gets much easier and it has been one of the most rewarding things I've committed to.
