I am not someone who is afraid to go to the dentist. I am not afraid because I will ONLY go to a…read moredentist that makes me feel comfortable. Town Center Dental makes me feel comfortable and at ease. I recently moved back to the Hudson Valley and had to find a new dentist. I went elsewhere for a cleaning (which was fine) but then I had some intense tooth pain. I went to two different dentists and they both wanted to remove two teeth. I was like waaaaait.... what??? I just remember an old dentist saying, "A tooth in the mouth is better than two in the hand." Save the tooth if you can. Why did they want to pull them? It didn't feel right. So I started to search for a new dentist and found Town Center Dental via Google search. I rolled the dice and went in. As I went into the office, I was greeted by a wonderful reception staff and a bright, clean atmosphere. I met with Dr. Paes and lo and behold I didn't actually have a tooth infection and I most definitely did NOT have to remove two teeth. Phew! I would have been LIVID if I had just listened to the other butchers. So I decided to stick with Dr. Paes. Since then, I've had a bridge removed, an implant implanted (lol) and two crowns to cover the teeth from the bridge. The implant surgery and bridge removal were painless and seamless. He's seriously made a major difference in this short time. Also - side note. They have a CEREC machine which is super cool. CEREC is a computer that takes impressions of your teeth digitally. Basically that means you do not have to use that gooooey impression gunk and that hard metal tray to make impressions of your teeth. It's a wand that scans your mouth. AND the machine makes perfect crowns while you wait. PRETTY. FREAKIN'. AWESOME. And lastly, I know a little bit about dental pricing and it ain't cheap, but Town Center Dental is competitive and fairly priced and I promise you (so far...) it has been worth EVERY penny.

From the outside, the practice looks promising and professional. But after meeting with and being…read moretreated by Dr Park, I knew better. I found him to be very pushy and demanding. He had to work with broken equipment and after 30 or so minutes fixed it with plastic, tape, and a rubber band. His work during an implant proved he lacks the necessary skill set to pwrform the implant without causing additional pain. I twice complained to Dr Paes about the bullying and lack of professional skill by Dr Park, but he did nothing. Also, Dr Park wanted to do a full set of xrays even though I submitted a full set that had been done less than 6 weeks earlier. Stay clear of Dr Park. If I could give less than 1 star, I would

Got a call to come in for a cleaning. They said they were having a promotion and the checkup and…read morecleaning would be 99 total. When I arrived I double checked that it would be 99 and was told yes. I did the cleaning which was very half assed as she said i really needed a deep cleaning which costs more. I said i couldnt afford it. They hurried through and I paid the b99 and left. Then I got a bill in the mail for $336 more dollars, as if there wasn't a promotion. So i had to call in and complain and they had to call the poughkeepsie office and call me back. They ended up taking away the charge but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Seems like a scam to try and get people to buy more dental exams and to charge them more than they were told. This should not have happened, and if it happened to me it could have happened to others who maybe ended up paying more than they should have.

I have spoken to Elaine 3 days in a row now, and all 3 time she's said she will call me back. Still waiting..... The first 2 calls she said she needed to speak with the doctor to figure out how to schedule me. Today, after telling me she spoke with the doctor, she said she needs to speak with him again. After trying to get anywhere with her, I asked to speak to a manager, and, of course, nobody is available, and will call me back. I asked if I should just find another dentist, and Elaine's reply was along the lines of "go ahead". I guess they have enough patients.

My wife and I found this new dentist office through our Insurance company and Google Reviews…read morebecause of our old dentist retiring and issues with the old dentist office procedures. For a first visit we noticed this dentist office was more technically advanced than our old dentist with more modern equipment. We are taking off a star because Dr. Kay doesn't deal with the business side of things which can be a good thing because then he can only worry about the best treatment for your teeth instead of being distracted by the business side of things. We found out from the office manager is is one of several locations owned by two dentist brothers. The one star down is because they do not have a sliding scale for low income people and charge New York City Prices in Dutchess county. The insurance companies are able to negotiate a discounted price but if you need major work and are on a limited income and have trouble covering the deductible they don't negotiate on a sliding scale do to your income but rather refer you to care credit so you'll probably be dead before you pay off your dental care. With the volume of patients running through this place they could have a little more compassion for lower income people or even donating some dental time back to the community. I'm not very happy with the business side of things but will update on future visits as the work I need will take time that my last dentist couldn't get to because he was to busy.

FOOLED BY HIS WINNING SMILE AND ADORABLE DOG IN HIS AD: I thought I was signing on for an…read moreold-school, thorough dental care when I contacted Dr. Meshnick's office. It all STARTED OUT GREAT: Lisa and Sussn( ?) answred the phone in a polite, professional way.I WAS OPTIMISTIC. NOTE: Despite their limited office hours, they seemed friendly and warm, and they excepted my Blue Cross Blue Shield dental insurance. So I scheduled the first appointment for my exam and consultation. THE GOOD: Dr Meshnick seemed to be listening to my concerns throughout the consultation. I knew I had some deferred care that needed attention, particularly with some previous emergency work that had been done several years prior. THE WORK: Post and crown work to fix the previous emergency work. This was done PRE-COVID-19. OVERSIGHT: despite the fact that I had expressed concern about a chipped tooth on the other side of my mouth, the Doctor dismissed it as fine. COSMETIC: The last item I discussed with the doctor during the initial consultation was a long-term strategy to improve the alignment of my teeth. I scheduled the post and crown work and had it completed. My insurance covered paid about half and I was sent a bill for the remaining balance. THE BAD: shortly after having the post and crown work completed, the suspicious tooth that I had pointed out to the doctor broke off. I reported this to the doctors office via voicemail message. THE UGLY: fortunately, the affected, broken tooth, is in the back of my mouth and is generally unnoticeable. REMEMBER , During my initial consultation I had called attention to a potential degradation of the very tooth that later broke. I was told by Dr. Meshnick that the tooth was fine. Just weeks after the post and crown, the tooth broke. The gaping hole that was left requires additional caution and care to prevent infection. STUCK WITH THE SITUATION: My travel schedule picked up again and I did have to reschedule hygienist appointments each time reminding them of the gaping hole and making it clear that I was disappointed by the oversight and the failure to notice the issue. THATS THE DENTIST's JOB, right? COVID HIT AND I became ILL. I spent months in self-quarantine. The very last thing on my mind was calling the doctor again about a broken tooth when I was so ill. THE MONEY FACTOR: although During the COVID PANDEMIC I received bills to pay off the balance of about $240 dollars, not once did anyone at the dents's office express concern or empathy for my dental situation which I believe was due to lack of thorough care of the consultation stage. INSTEAD, when I spoke with Lisa today to provide credit card information for my final bill, she denied receiving any information from me about the broken tooth and my disappointment in the care I received. Instead, the previously-polite Lisa became defensive and curt. Not in any way apologetic, in fact she was borderline sarcastic, making feeble excuses for the deficiencies in care and tried to make it seem like my fault that the issue was not picked up sooner because I rescheduled my hygienist appointments well-after the work was done and the second tooth broke. THE FINAL DECISION: she claimed that I never reported the damage to their office. Malarkey. As expected, she defended the doctor. Of course she should do that. She's employed by him and it is not a comfortable discussion to have. I get that. But turning the table and blaming the patient for the business' mistake is not acceptable. The fact is that I could have received the proper care before Covid if the doctor had paid closer attention to my complaint and investigated it further. THE RESULTS: In my opinion, I did not have to walk around for months with a broken tooth during a pandemic. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? Dr. Meschnick seemed to be a very nice person and I'm sure he was a very proficient dentist during most of his career. At this stage, I feel like he msy be in semi retirement mindset. THE SIGNS I MISSED: Limited hours and a lack of thoroughness. I will not be returning to this dentist.
