I can say that we have a positive experience with my child's teacher and she really do paid attention to each and everyone of her students. She responds to every questions and concerns that I had with my child and the lessons she had, and that is a big plus (communication wise) between a parent and the teacher. My child enjoyed this school (coming from an unorganized, poorly ran school system in AZ).

The overall environment felt negative and, at times, openly unkind. I witnessed staff speaking to students in ways that were belittling and inappropriate. In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. Our son was having problems with some of the students and they always reached out to discuss how to make things work. Teachers are great and helpful as well. Very caring. My son has special needs that HIRSCH doesn't have a program for but they made sure to have meetings with us so that we can place him in the right school (program). He's a retired teacher that comes and helps organize games for the kids like flag football, kick ball and basket ball. What a great guy! My daughter especially likes Mrs. Pakari. She's a 3rd grade teacher, she's very patient and all around a great teacher! I haven't always been fond of all my children's teacher but she's definitely one of the good ones! I received a call late Friday afternoon notifying me that my child was no longer allowed to attend…read morethe school they were currently enrolled at. It was their mistake and instead of allowing my child to complete the full year there, they took it upon themselves to remove my child and tell me that I would not be able to get a district transfer. Please note when I viewed the TUSD elementary boundary map, my address qualifies for that school. I even came into the office during enrollment season and verified it with the staff there. I took the proper channels to ensure my child was qualified for that specific school. Not only did this stress me out, my child who was comfortable with her teacher and class, we had arrangements friends to help pick up my child is now emotional distraught to know that she has to start a brand new school that is even farther from our residence. Mind you the school we were attending was not full and had plenty of room, their reasoning to pluck my child out was to ensure all the upcoming kids in new development had a space (which i live in) The staff at TUSD is disorganized, rude and without taking responsibility of owning up to their mistake.
