Well recently I've been doing a bunch of research on the building found out that it was being used as the high school before it was actually a middle school. With millions of kids that I've gone in and out of that school year by year by year! I mean I basically mean nothing to the school by how many people go through it. I'm sure there's going to be people looking at this review in 2020 and stuff thinking that it was boring in 2015 but for us everything is getting better and better and better, well kind of. We've gotten computers, Internet, and my favorite, student wifi! But there could be looking at this review that went to school here in 1980 seeing how different it is. Besides all of that, The teachers are getting nicer and nicer. I've had mean teachers last year that it is getting replaced by nicer teachers! it's becoming a better place and just being awesome. I remember coming into seventh grade and being scared of everything, but now it's just like whatever. Now the computers are getting replaced the laptops, and the laptops are getting replaced with chrome books! I'm just trying to think back in so when they had really old stuff! Speaking of really old stuff they have TVs that we watched channel 1 news on every day that look like they're from maybe the 60s! They turn on and just give them horrible noise like a dog whistle. The Internet speeds are up to 150 Mbps on the download speed and 70 on the upload speed. People have been telling me that Hononegah is at the top of some list for best...I dunno, best…read moreschool in IL or something like that. I graduated in 2005 and no, it fxcking isn't. Don't get me wrong, I miss high school...but when you get a little older, that's normal. It doesn't matter if its the best school or the worst. Hononegah is somewhere in between, but closer to the latter. Its a good facility and all, but the younger teachers are sort of uninvolved, run-of-the-mill douchebags. I mean, go to a bar and there's a decent chance you'll see your old chemistry teacher spilling a beer on some freshly 21-year-old girl, trying to take her back to the condo. Rockton-Roscoe is a pretty OK place to raise kids because the cops are insidious asshxles, fresh out of the academy, so they keep shxt locked down. Besides Walmart, Hononegah is the best thing Rockton has going for it, and that ain't sayin' much.

Both have started attending youth group at their church too. My granddaughter is getting dual credit at the county college. The teaching and communication is Godly. There is consistency and respect for everyone. Teachers are beloved by leaders and students. The core subjects are what they should be. Biggest benefit: no drama!!! I'm so thrilled my daughter & son in law pulled them out of the other "bigger" school. Thank God! For comparison purposes only, the other bigger, more expensive Christian school in Rockford does not operate like a "Christian " school should. There is no pastoral guidance, no one to override & give Biblical guidance when leaders & school board members go astray & do not handle situations biblically. It's one big popularity contest. Some leaders & school board members are liars and have tried to destroy other Christians who simply disagree. They do not exemplify a Christ-like attitude and behavior towards teachers, students, or parents. The head of schools always looked for a scapegoat any time parents complained, lambasted and circulated emails with lies about situations to save her own butt. Special treatment and the school discipline policy did not apply if you had money. Inappropriate behavior by coaches with money or close friends with those who have money went unchecked and coaches were not removed. Recently I heard the head of schools was asked to leave. But until the school board is scrapped & Godly parents take over, there's no hope. SO ENROLL YOUR KIDS HERE! Don't go to the other bigger school.

From the leadership at the top to the paras, counselors and bus drivers, they are good people through and through. The teachers went over and beyond to help my kids succeed and to feel good about themselves while doing it. They were creative and fun loving! The principals talk with us like a friend, working together to help our children. When one of my children was being bullied on the bus, I only had to mention it once and the principal was on it right away! No problems after that. The counselors helped my kids through some tough times. The staff listens and hears parental concerns. The office staff is kind and respectful. The athletic coaches were super too! Throughout all the years of our involvement with this district, we only had an issue with one 8th grade special ed teacher. Those are pretty good odds! I consider the Rockton School District to be at the heart of Rockton. My kids have made lasting friendships at Rockton Grade School, Whitman Post and Stephen Mack. I will always be grateful for the positive ways they have helped to shape my children.
