There is consistency and respect for everyone. Teachers are beloved by leaders and students. The core subjects are what they should be. Biggest benefit: no drama!!! I'm so thrilled my daughter & son in law pulled them out of the other "bigger" school. Thank God! For comparison purposes only, the other bigger, more expensive Christian school in Rockford does not operate like a "Christian " school should. There is no pastoral guidance, no one to override & give Biblical guidance when leaders & school board members go astray & do not handle situations biblically. It's one big popularity contest. Some leaders & school board members are liars and have tried to destroy other Christians who simply disagree. They do not exemplify a Christ-like attitude and behavior towards teachers, students, or parents. The head of schools always looked for a scapegoat any time parents complained, lambasted and circulated emails with lies about situations to save her own butt. Special treatment and the school discipline policy did not apply if you had money. Inappropriate behavior by coaches with money or close friends with those who have money went unchecked and coaches were not removed. Recently I heard the head of schools was asked to leave. But until the school board is scrapped & Godly parents take over, there's no hope. SO ENROLL YOUR KIDS HERE! Don't go to the other bigger school.

I attended RCC for 2.5 years for the Vet Tech program. It has it's pros and it has it's cons…read more PROS: -Instructors are very nice. If you are there to learn and you're determined, you will get the attention and help you need to succeed. If you are there and do not try your hardest, instructors will not go out of their way to assist you in your future. I loved all of my vet tech instructors. -It is challenging. I was not expecting such an extensive program given that it is Rockford. I was TOTALLY wrong. This is possibly the hardest program/educational course I have ever gone through. This program will pick out your weaknesses and you will need to study your butt off. This isn't a program that you can just sit back and relax in. -Price is fairly cheap. Now, given that I started the program when tuition was $36k for the entire program, RCC has made changes so those with some financial trouble are able to attend. I believe it is now $160 for each credit hour? Don't take my word for it, but prices have dropped. CONS: -Vet Tech program changed about 2-3 times while I was attending classes there. The school was undergoing some changes and that caused me to have a later graduation date than originally stated, which in turn made me upset. I was set to finish the program in December, but instead, now finishing in March. It may not seem like a huge deal, but after so long in the program, I was ready to be done. -Everyone in power is hard to get in touch with. Several times my father has tried to get in touch with the financial adviser at RCC and will not get a call back. Same goes with e-mail to some of the staff and program director. I understand that there are several students to get in touch with, but speed should be improving, especially since RCC is growing. -Staff is sometimes unpleasant. There have been several instances where I have come in contact with some grumpy people. My fellow vet tech student ordered Jimmy Johns to have delivered to the front desk so she could eat lunch during our 12 hour day in the vet tech department. When Jimmy Johns arrived, the "manager" Dewey, basically yelled at my friend that ordering food and having the front desk assistant notify her when her food was there is unacceptable and is not allowed to be done. I understand how this can be a problem, but it was like the umpteenth time she had done this. And Jackie at the front is not always so peachy. There have been a few times she has made me sign in when I had forgotten my ID. She clearly knows me, as I have been going there for 2 years. But she is never really pleasant to me, -The front doors are open a majority of the time. We are given ID badges when we first sign up for our program and they are to be used and warn at all times. There is no need of the badges if the front doors are always open to intruders. And of course, when they do close the doors, I forget my badge, and I get blamed for not having my ID the one day they DO decide to close the doors. RCC is in Rockford and Rockford isn't really all that safe. Those doors should be close all the time except for orientation. It wasn't my favorite school, but I am glad to have gone through the Vet Tech program. Would highly recommend the program, not necessarily the school. Happy to be graduating in MARCH!

We've been involved with the learning process (thank god) and have gotten emails from the s C oil when it comes to parents being concerned about politics being dragged through our schools. They seem pretty focused on education and play. My son has improved immensely and although he doesn't like waking up, he's usually very excited about going to school, what happened at school and what he learned. He always says "hey, that's one of my site words!" We had Mrs. Rachel in preschool (he fell in love with her). She held his hand every step of the way to get on the bus and took a picture of him riding in the bus with her and smiling and sent it to us. This was after he was crying and begging us not to bring him to school because he was scared of the bus for the field trip. His Kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Schaefer. He has loved her since day one. She says she likes to use him as a positive example for other kids and she's sent us pictures of him having fun as well. He's going to be heartbroken when he leaves in a few weeks. We met both of the teachers. Very down to earth, goal oriented, you could tell they love kids and are great with them. Even the teachers aids he has had good relationships with. So glad they didn't give up with some potty training mishaps. They have a reward system for when you're being a good person. Great counselors for the kids if needed. Their are some really passionate and protective teachers and staff around this school and I feel safe with him there. Not worried about anyone trying to change him. Just growing his brain and who he is. Not judging him for not being artistic or liking Singing. It will be a hard transition to go to another school for first grade, but I'm really glad that he was able to start out here in this safe school. There are always extra curricular activities and fun days. Right now they're counting down to the last day of school and celebrating each day. So Bittersweet. I see a lot of diversity in the school as well and he's picked up on a few new words in other language with his friends. Thank you Parker!

I was super happy with the services she provided: touch up color with low lights on the first visit and a haircut with root touch up and lowlights on my last visit in March. Anna (with Trina's support) took great care of me and made my hair look healthy and lively. Bu-bye grays! I loved the haircut, too. Hoping to get back in before she graduates in June. Which brings me to my soap box. I saw another review up here and I'm disappointed to say the least. This is a SCHOOL salon. To walk in here and expect it to be as fast as a normal salon, well, that's just wrong--especially anything involving color and a hair cut. To call out and give a STUDENT a bad review on social media is wrong. Complain in person to the management at the school and let them resolve the problem. Don't take it to yelp. Please! For those of you reading this and considering if the a school salon is for you or not, please read on! The most important thing to keep in mind when choosing to frequent a beauty school salon is that it's going to take longer--sometimes a lot longer-- than at a regular salon with a licensed beautician--not a student. The benefit to the client is the highly reduced rates of the school salon services and the feel goods that you are helping a student learn and perfect their skills. I've been to the Aveda Salon School in Chicago and it is a comparable experience to the Salon at Educators of Beauty in Rockford in that there was a lot of waiting and it took longer than a normal salon. But I went in there with that expectation, because that is the only expectation one should have in that situation.

But I'm perplexed and I'm just not understanding how and why I'm supposed to wash mine? The Stylist say's, "it's for cleanliness", which just completely throws me off. It's not as if I'm going to touch the stylist, she's the one who's going to touch me!! Well that all just seems way out in left field to me, so I decide to just leave. On my drive home it started to weigh on me. Is this where vagrants go to cut their hair? Do they think I have slimy hands and are going to put them on the arms of the salon chair? I used to have my hair cut at the Beauty School at the Community College in Madison when I was a student sixteen years ago. They never had their clients have to wash their hands. What a strange deal EOB has going on with the hand washing. Well, I'm out.

The teachers have shown me that they really care about my son education's needs. Miss. Starret, has gone the extra mile for my son in explaining how to do his work. I've never heard such a thing as sentence starters and paragraph starters until he enrolled in this school a few weeks ago. Most teachers wouldn't go that extra mile because they usually say their over worked and they can't explain every single step to a child because they have other students' but that was not Miss. Starret's approach, she helped him and he finished it up. In my opinion, attitude, plays a key role on how kids and teachers perceive each other. We all have different learning styles and teachers have to adjust to each child learning style differently. My son didn't have a report card but I went in to meet with all of his teachers anyway. Especially after looking at some of the positive and negative reviews, I was ecstatic to see and meet some of the instructors. I can honestly say, they are a bunch of focused individuals. I have most of all of my son instructors phone numbers, including the Principal (how rare is that). They seem to have a very good OPEN DOOR POLICY. I must say, they are on top of things over there. I'm a very over protective parent when it comes to my child's need. Especially with his adhd and attention span I have to be over protective. This school has me excited about my son's future in high school. If he is tardy to class they have this kickboard system that I can see everything he has done so it's quite obvious my son won't be getting away with being late to another class. when he comes home I can talk to him about what his positive and negative actions were for that day. With the kickboard he has to tell me, if not, I'll see it anyway on the kickboard. Cons It'll be nice if they could offer classes like kennedy middle school, 1st, 2nd and 3rd period. It'll make kids feel more responsible to make sure they are not getting to the next class late. Additionally, it would be great if they offered discounts for the school uniform. I purchased almost $150 of spirit wear at my son's prior school and he had almost 20 shirts. Nonetheless, so far so good but I'll post another review once I've established a better rapport Advice to Management I read all of the NEGATIVE and POSITIVE reviews. Usually if anyone have to go too a unsatisfied work environment It's usually because their voice isn't being heard. This action causes a unhealthy learning experience. It would be nice to get survey from the staff anonymously to hear their opinions. If someone is coming to work complaining all the time it's probably a TRAINING issue or an ATTITUDE ISSUE. Indeed, if it's a training issue and it doesn't resolve then It's an attitude issue that can take away from the overall good learning experience that our children need. That's my opinion.
