Agent Booker took the time to explain, in detail, what summers are like here and how smoke events tend to come and go. Their response was not only informative but also positive and reassuring. The Monument PD filed the third degree assault charges that SHE pressed against ME, but they FAILED TO FILE THE CHARGES I PRESSED AGAINST HER. So, now I have charges filed against me in court for third degree assault and I have to go to court and be treated like a criminal I, but this woman who attacked me has no charges filed against her. This woman literally left marks all over my face and shoulders from her fingernails. It was VERY CLEAR that I had been been assaulted, and they didn't file charges against her? What the hell is wrong with you people? This is some of the shoddiest police work I've ever seen in my life. I'm so angry at them right now, I could spit nails. Sgt. J. Levoit, in particular, I had the most dealings with. This man probably hates my guts (I'm diagnosed PTSD, along with autism and ADHD, so Im a handful to deal with in high stress situations) but he was still nothing but courteous and patient with me. Exemplifying what REAL police work is, this officer was able to make both myself and another individual shake hands and end a very exaggerated situation all stemming from a simple miscommunication among men who in the end both had hurt feelings and really just wanted to be friends anyway. THAT building looks gritty, dark, imposing and vaguely menacing when one looks at it. THIS building, in contrast, has a modern design, is relatively welcoming, grounds are kept up nicely and the help I received here, while perfunctory, was delivered with an earnest desire to help (again, completely in contrast to the "help" I received downtown.) The officer that helped file a hit-and-run incident report for me back in June was also from DPD District 3 (it's now October). So...not too much business to conduct here, but thanks for making it a welcoming, less foreboding building to walk into and staff to interact with, DPD.
