ATROCIOUS treatment by management. Came in for car battery replacement, but decided to get my own and have them swap it. Upon telling the manager I would be paying with card (and fine with an increase in price) he lost his cool telling me "I don't know what games you're playing." I ended up fixing the battery myself but I felt incredibly disrespected. Also, their batteries just aren't good-I'd be paying 50 dollars more then Costco for a battery they won't tell me the manufacturer and only comes with a 1 year warranty versus 3 from Costco. Some people hate going to the doctor, but I really hate going to an auto shop. The fear is very similar. I think I'm going in for a regular check up, and find out that it's a miracle that I made it in without my car blowing up. Well, this time, I drove with car with a badly eroded battery for MONTHS and refused to get a new battery. I kept saying I would do it "next week", but one morning my car just refused to turn on. I knew I would finally have to head into "next week" with a new battery. My neighbor and friend suggested I go to Jefferson Battery Co. for a reliable, affordable battery. My friend said she got a battery installed her and it was roughly $100 cheaper than Firestone. I arrived on Monday morning a little after 8, and one of the workers greeted me with a smile and asked how could he help. I told him that I needed a new battery. Apparently you can buy the battery and have someone else--or yourself--install it. An older, shorter man rang my purchase up, and with the part, installation and taxes, I had a new battery for $150. The installation took about 5 mins. Everyone was very friendly and nice here. I was most interested in the very old school paper system and stapler they had going on! Very cool! Cars. Man. They can be annoying. I was having some issues getting my car to start...it was sluggish but it was really cold and then it just flat out wouldn't start, except a few hours later it did. Ran out on Monday morning to Jefferson Battery my go to shop for decades. And they said one cell in my battery was faulty so a new battery was had and I made it to work and was only about 10 minutes late. Sweet. They have the specialty battery I need for my automatic driveway gate, They will take the old battery in exchange and give a small discount against the new one. I found myself in the unfortunate predicament of needing a car battery so of course I priced them online through numerous national chain autoparts stores (you know the ones I'm talking about), they all wanted MINIMUM $140 just for the battery. On a tip from a customer where I work, I called Jefferson Battery and was quoted a good $50 less than this. I went the next morning and within 2 minutes of my arrival, I had 3 guys working on my car. I was in and out in under 20 minutes and under $100, including installation. This is everything you want in a business. Local people running a local business giving impeccable service at a low price. You have to think: they've been in business since 1979 and don't advertise. How do you do that? You give great service and rely on word-of-mouth advertising. The big chains can't claim that!
