Brake pads, alternators, starters, etc. My old Nissan pickup with 450,000 miles (finally sold) was a nightmare to the parts counter: buy it once, and return every 100K or so for warranty replacements. It worked good for me! The Jasper AutoZone has been my main shop for the last 6 years. They always have what I need from my Ford truck and Hyundai Sonata. I even have a few classics that I can get parts for at "the Zone." The counter staff is always helpful and courteous. They'll also recommend things that I might need to do a job - I have most of what I need for most jobs, but I appreciate the reminder. It's an up-sell for them, but if you get into the job and don't have what you need to finish the job, it means another trip to the store, or a corner cut. They don't always have what I need - but I can come up with some pretty unusual requests. It never hurts to ask before I have to seek special attention. I can't remember any time that I was genuinely disappointed with any of the AutoZones that I've used.

I own 4 BMWs and buying new parts for a classic German car can be a bit of a hassle as you will find yourself constantly weighing which parts to purchase based on their quality vs their affordability. These guys, they take that all away...and I'm not kidding. I know whatever I give them, they fix it and bring it back to an OEM spec all while doing it at a price that I almost feel guilty every time I come back. Let me give you an example... BMW part number 12317804266 is a massive 220 AMP alternator for a diesel X5 I need rebuilt. Brand new, they run anywhere from $400ish (cheap knock offs, which I won't buy) to around $1,200 OEM from the factory...I encourage you to google that part number listed and see for yourself.....but also, more importantly to go down there and see how much you'll save. They may not be the most talkative or engaging folks I've brought business to but I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to deal with me either...I can be a bit much, and sometimes admittedly I get lost in the details of whatever I'm interested in the moment......Like today - it's alternators.

When I got outside the owner said "Nevermind, the other driver was able to get out." What he did not reveal is that they hit my Tow Dollie to get out. When driving away we saw a piece of the tail light fly off. Accidents happen, but not telling us was unethical. We could have gotten a ticket or worse in an accident. A new light was purchased at Harbor Freight for $24.99. I can weld the fender myself. Also I drove 6 hrs because to get there from KY. They had 4 T&C cars in their gallery. First, I called to confirm and was told Yes they still have them. But they only had 1. The man who looked up parts was helpful. The owner & son were unethical. They both walked me out and guided me right to my truck so I would not see the damage to the Tow Dollie. I do not recommend this salvage yard. Prices on both salvage and NOS were overpriced. Ex: exterior door handles were $400. I can get mine re-chromed for $160. But more importantly is the ability to trust the company management/owners. Not at AMS Obsolete in Fairmount, GA.

I was glad to do this, but am not glad to receive a badly worn and warped part without warning and after paying full price and shipping. It's almost worth the hassle, time, and shipping to return the part and order another from Ebay, but not quite.
