The glassware is also eye-catching. The Co-Op is three stories of antiquey goodness. While the furniture is extraordinary, someone always beats me to the punch. They's always a sold sign on each beautiful piece. The Co-Op mostly has glassware, but this is definately a place to check out if you're into antiques. I've found a few vintage instructional manuals that have come in handy. There are a few drawbacks to the Ransomville Co-Op. The first being is that they are not consistently opened. I have dropped by many times only to find a sign saying that they'll "be back soon." Now I always call ahead to make sure someone is there. Another thing that bothers me are the posters strung up around the Co-Op. I think one "you break it, you bought it" sign should suffice. Or even one in each corner. There just seems to be a lot of them. But overall, this is a nice place.

This store is located near downtown Albion, just across the street from the public library. It is in the same building as the laundromat, so can be easily overlooked--but don't overlook it, as there are some great deals here! We were so fortunate to on a whim stop by on their dollar clothes sale day. Every clothes item in the store was just a dollar each, WHOA! :-O It isn't a huge thrift store, but we still found some great finds! The clothes are organized very well by item type/size, making it easy to peruse everything in a reasonable time. In addition to apparel, there are all of the other typical thrift store sections, including accessories, shoes, books, housewares, toys, games, dishes, bedding/curtains, artwork, decor, etc., and some furniture. I was particularly impressed with the dishes and china area. If I had less self-constraint and more room, some lovely new-to-me-china pieces would have definitely come home with me, hahaha. Overall, the regular prices here are very reasonable. Of course if you hit it on a dollar-deal-day, that is a phenomenal steal. But clothes regular prices were about $2 - $4 or $5 a piece. We live in the Buffalo burbs, and the thrift stores I frequent closer to home have regular prices about double that these days. So when we are in town at our camp, or maybe even just for a country drive to Albion on the off season, Main Street Thrift Store is well worth the adventure. Great deals, good assortment, tidy and well organized, and friendly staff--stop in to find some new-to-you treasures soon! :-)

As an antique store, it's pretty decent. I really liked the good variety of items, with anything from kitchenware and china to wood crates and trunks. There was a nice small room in the back just filled with books. It's a pretty small antique shop, though it does occupy two addresses - with both rooms the antiques go straight to the back with only a couple of aisles to peruse. The one attribute that made this place my saving grace? There's a public bathroom. Praise the heavens. I'm kind of disappointed that I wasn't able to find anything like I was looking for when I visited - I mean, it's definitely easy to get drawn into buying things at an antique store just because they're cool, different, or a good price. This place had plenty of things like that, but me being on a particular mission, there really wasn't anything that stood out to me. Knowing this place is here though, and that their main focus IS antiques, I'm definitely planning to return the next time I'm in Lockport.

That alone is awesome beyond words. If the items in their showroom don't tickle your fancy, you can flip through their cataloge and order whatever you see. Before you head off into the store, you can browse their website. I find it to be easy to navigate and is kept up to date. The owner is really nice. He lets you know that he's there to help without hovering all over you. Absolutely no pressure. The little touches matter. The decor is hilarious! Spilt acrylic food sits atop beautiful wooden pieces. Freaky life-size dummies rest on plush couches. It's crazy! I love it! The artificial desserts look so delicious. Overall the atmosphere is very sophisticated, yet comfortable at the same time. But that scary dummy catching me everytime! I hope it never goes away.

It is a general store in every sense of that concept--they generally have a little bit of everything. Absolutely no food or beverages, not even gum or a soda case. But you'll find a bit of everything else, including ... ** Lots of fabrics, notions, and sewing supplies; bolts of fabric are cut-to-size for whatever length you need ** Cards, stationary, and a small assortment of books (mostly religious) ** Decorative glassware and knick-knacks ** General kitchen items (cookware, utensils, canning supplies) ** Grill and picnic supplies ** A few small electrics, like fans and light strings ** Small clothing section with mostly knits, sweats, and Amish hats ** Candles and candle holders ** Many natural soaps, lotions, and supplements ** Cleaning supplies and household paper products ** Garden and outdoor supplies, and some tools ** Toys and games ** Office supplies ... but definitely not limited to just that, you'll surely find more. Prices are very fair. I needed a couple basic plastic mixing bowls, and grabbed them here for $1.10 a piece. I also got some fly catcher strips for 5/$1, and a fork/whisk hybrid called a Fiskie for about three bucks. I'm eyeing a nice Chinese Checkers metal tin set, that was about $11. Next time, it will be mine! Attached to this same building is Lake Breeze Bicycle, a small bicycle shop in the basement of the general store, with its own separate entrance out back. I'll write a review for that portion of the business separately, but as a sneak-peek, it's a handy, well-priced store too. During COVID times, all other customers were masked and doing our best to stay distanced in the small store. The Amish women I've seen working at the register and fabric cutting area have been masked, too. It appreciate, even way out here in the sticks, folks still doing their part to help end this pandemic. If you find yourself in this part of Orleans county, and either want to browse for nothing in particular, or look for something in particular, chances are you may find it here at J C Miller General Store. I just had two centerpieces made and they were so fabulous that I got a ton of compliments and the price surprised me - very nice. Inside, I found a load of gift ideas and chocolates, and pastry cookies. Sometimes I really get stumped for a gift item and The Flower Barn is on my list for stops to go when I get stuck. Inside, it's decorated in a warm, homey, country style that really is wonderful. I highly recommend The Flower Barn and am glad I found another place for gifts for the "hard-to-buy" for people on my list. (Also known as my parents.)
