We had consulted with a few plumbing companies in the area, including some of the bigger ones, and none were really able to grasp the complications of our boiler system. We finally contacted Mike and Matt, and they were able to coherently explain what was going on and what all of the issues were. When we eventually ran into bigger problems with our wall boilers (a result of the prior owners not taking any care of them for a decade), Tumminello was our choice to revamp the entire boiler room with brand new equipment. They are truly experts at their craft (a lot of the technical aspects go over my head). Mike, Matt and their guys did such a great job and we're super happy with out it turned out. They always showed up on time and didn't leave until the job was done. Our boiler room is now much more efficient and organized and, most importantly, in working order (shoutout to Matt in particular for being a rockstar - he could be a rocket scientist for NASA; he also took the care to make sure everything looked perfect and was super organized). We've also used Tumminello for non-boiler-related issues (e.g., sink installation, leaks, clogs, etc.) and they've always responded promptly (and fairly). I called Joe at 5 on a Friday, and he got someone out to me at 8AM Saturday. It was a little more complicated than expected, and he sent his guy out Sunday too, to fix something. After the gas people came back to explain their work, Joe and Pete found the issue, located a gas leak in the crawl space, fixed it, hooked the stove back up, helped me figure out a broken fixture, and finished up in a little over an hour. (As soon as I heard "gas leak in the crawl space" I was bracing for weeks of no stove and expensive work, but this wasn't the case.) In all, pricing was reasonable, response was always fast (by phone and in person), my stove works, and they made sure everything done by an iffy handyman was no longer dangerous. In my search for plumbers, I noticed that all area plumbers had mixed reviews. Also, as he was leaving it came up that he knows my uncle and does work for him, and my uncle is a SUPER diligent perfectionist about home repairs and safety, and my uncle would definitely only use a great plumber. And he's a great plumber.
