After an excellent experience, I am going with Fielack for all my electrical needs. They've earned my trust and their work is obvious quality. They upgraded my service to 200 amps, moved the service meter to a better location, installed new service panels, and identified/explained code violations. They did an excellent job on all. I had the pleasure of working with Lou for the initial estimate. He was interested in solving my problems, listened to all concerns and answered my many questions. Each recommendation was backed by good reason and explained clearly. He also pointed out things another company's estimate had missed. We found Lou easy to work with, the office was responsive, and the price fair. So we went with Fielack and am happy we did. The moment they arrived, I knew these guys were serious. One of the electrical outlets on my kitchen counter died the day after Thanksgiving. I called in hope of scheduling a service call for next week, and spoke with Lou. I described the problem; he asked several questions, and suggested that I try a simple remedy--which brought my outlet back to life! He also explained how and why it had worked, so I would have the knowledge if it were to happen again. Since Lou had saved me from a service appointment which would have wreaked havoc with my work schedule, I would gladly have paid for his advice, but he would accept only thanks. I have used Fielack several times and have always had a great experience... yes, getting upgraded electric or changing out lights and/or outlets is expensive, but these guys are nice, clean, quick and courteous. When I first moved into my house, I couldn't have the AC on and flip on the bathroom light or everything would go dark! Now, I'm relaxing in a cool living room with beautiful lighting and working outlets for all my electric devices! They made my house safer, and I recommend them to 100%! read more

This company rewired switches in my basement and the work performed was nothing less than an electrical hazard. The workers wired 2 "hot leads" together, which was feeding back into our electrical panel. Then, when the wires they twisted together came loose, it caused an "arc", shorting out parts of the panel. I resolved the problem with the help of my father, who worked in the Con Ed generator shops for 45 years. My wife posted a review on a home referral list with a woman's name in the title alreting the public to what happened. Then Lou called me to try to resolve the issue. I told him that I would not take a refund, even if he offered, because that was not the purpose of the review. I also told him to correct me if he thought my wife's post was inaccurate and I would ask her to change it. We talked for approximately 30 minutes and he could not offer anything to refute the issue as I found it. Instead, he wrote a VERY MISLEADING response to my wife's review. Since she was not part of my conversation with Lou, I would like to respond. Lou's response: Our electrician made correct connections for switches to work properly again" WRONG: This was a network of switches. I called the next day to say they were not switching on and off as they used to. I spoke with Adam. Lou's response: "When we followed up days later on another electric issue our electrician had found not related to this original problem..." WRONG: Let me tell you the "unrelated problem". As soon as they saw I had 100 watt service, they started to sell me on upgraded service. They spent as much time on this as the wiring issue for which they were called. I told them that I almost never had a circuit trip, so it was not an issue. Regardless, I took their advice and got 2 more quotes from other -----'s list providers. Not only did they both quote a lower price, they also advised that an upgrade was really not necessary. Lou's response: "If the problem was not related to what we did then we would only charge the time to correct and not a full service call." WRONG: When I called to advise that I had discovered that the switches were not right, Adam tried to apply pressure for the upgrade - he said that if it was not incorrect he would have to charge me again UNLESS I let them do the upgrade, in which case he would check it out while he was there. I told Lou this. I also told Lou how I did not mention this to my wife because I did not want to bring up collateral matters. Funny how Lou forgot to mention this in his response. -- I was blowing bulbs in the basement for nine months. Then, all of a sudden, there was a major short. I described the issue to Lou precisely. Lou asked me if his worker had installed a wire across boxes (presumably, to confirm my account of the improper wiring). I told him that the worker had in fact added this wire and advised that I had disconnected it but it was still there. Lou has no defense to the poor worked performed by his company, so he has resorted to a poor excuse. The entire time I spoke to him, he assured me that he was an "advocate for the customer". However, in retrospect, it appears all he wanted to do was try to bury his obvious mistake from the public. read more

Fielack Electric was supposed to come over and give a free estimate. My mother was there while the electrician came over to give me a free estimate. They wound up doing an hour and a half inspection on my pool's electrical system and charged me $350.31. They conned my mother and told her it was not a free estimate, which it was supposed to be and told her to pay $350.31. Again, It was supposed to be a free estimate. They then wrote up a work order for $6,000 and told my mother the work was necessary. She gave them a $1,350 deposit because they told her they would deduct $500 off the $6,000 price. I had other electrical companies come in and give me free estimates. They further disconnected my outlet and on/off switch. This disconnection rendered my pool pump inoperable because I have no way of turning it on. Algae has grown and my pool water has turned green, due to the hot weather. Furthermore the salseman convinced my mother that work was needed and she gave him a $1,350.00 check. That day I left 6 messages for the owner advising him that no work was to be done. I spoke with the owner the next day and he still deposited both checks even though I advised him that his services were no longer needed. I asked him to fix the on/off switch and outlet which he removed and he advised me that he would charge me for that. I called him constantly the past three days and we have not spoken because he called me back once while I was not home. To sum up, he was there to give a free estimate, and he disconnected 2 items and he has my money. The company has not contacted me in 3 days about this and refuses to repair what they damaged. Furthermore he disconnected a lighting wire and now 2 lights in my backyard are not working. He still has my money and refuses to refund it to me. NEVER USE FIELACK ELECTRIC!!!!!!!!! read more
