The different mixing plates, Beyaynetu, are subpar. Flavorless and cantine quality. I am Ethiopian, I know how the food should taste like. Take out: It is possible but you have to pick it up yourself. If you are considering ordering, make sure to order single dishes. Because of the large company at home, we ordered, amongst other dishes, a mixing plate - Beyayneto, meat edition. In addition to including an unrecognizable minced meat dish (for spaghetti sauce?), all small dishes were cramped into two boxes and thus, were literally mixed! The doro wet, siga wet and beg kej wet were all mixed in a tiny take out box. I know, all food eventually mixes together in my belly but I would like to be able to distinguish the different dishes before it reaches my belly. Atmosphere: Probably the coziest Ethiopian restaurant in Stockholm if you manage to come in a company large enough to secure one of the two wooden gojos (Ethiopian mud cottage from the country side) built indoors. If not: The restaurant has two sections: the gojo-section and the dining hall section. The latter is as charming as a hospital cantine. One star for the atmosphere in the better section, one for the food.

I had the traditional beyeayenetu with injera and different stews and vegetable mixes. My favorite was the spinach mix but I also loved the lentil stews. This place is great and the staff is very friendly. I wanted to try one of their Ethiopian beers but unfortunately they were out of all of them. I guess they finish pretty fast since they probably are specially delivered from Ethiopia.

We didn't…read morethink we'd find one but after meeting friends for a dinner this December, we decided our search was over. The owner of this neighborhood hook isn't only welcoming, but gave us extra food because they had it. With the best beer reccos and the grooviest of jams, they continue to win us (and our 85 Ib golden retriever) over time and time again. Honestly, the food is phenomenal and the drinks are affordable. Get the hummus!!

They offer a Cellar List of over 100+ Bottles and a very Special Tap List as well. I enjoyed two beers that are not available in the American market, one from Mikkeller and the other brewed for a local Wedding in 2014 by Brouwerij Alvinne. It is a very bright and eclectic venue with the bar and walls decorated with neon signs and photos. The lights are dim to give you a romantic, easy going vibe. I unfortunately wasn't able to enjoy lunch or dinner here but their menu looks fantastic with many Vegan / Organic Options. When the owner-general manager is the bartender, it makes for a positive experience! I hope to visit Babajan for a meal on my next trip to Stockholm.

Fresh, renovated, clean, airy and smoothly lighted, plus African music of course! Loved the food. Strongly spiced, keep yourself away if you are not a fan of chili and cumin. We got a mixed dish with beef, lamb, chicken and lentil and I fell in love lentil thing. Very special bread, nothing that I had tried before. I was not sure about eating with hand but it went well, a new experience! The winner of the night was the Ethiopian coffee. What a fresh and smooth taste! With touch of cardamom. Nicely served. & popcorn! Surprise! The noise level is lower than many other places. It was possible to talk without shouting. But if you are after a place to seat and drink, this is not the right place. You have a drink menu but no space as a "bar" And not to forget, very nice and friendly personnel, ready to explain the details on food and coffee for you, just ask.

Except us there were a few other sitting downstairs. Well, most of us had not eaten Ethiopian food before so we knew its gonna be different from what we usually eat. The staff was very friendly and quick with everything. So I ate lamb stew, which was severed with a small salat and bread. The bread was the coolest thing I have ever seen. It was flat like pancake, it had almost the texture of pancake one side had like the pattern of a sponge. Really cool. And mixing lamp and bread was very interesting. I am a person who doesn't like when I have bone pieces still connected to meat or any sort of remains of fat from the meat, which was the case. I am sure this is a typical way of serving the food also if my mum cooks turkish she does the same. So I am kind of used to it but not necessary like it. And one of my friends actually ask the waiter for something different because she couldn't eat it like that not because it wasn't good. It was good. But as I said some people are used to having meat neatly cut etc. Either way it was a very good experience. If you love love Ethiopian food I guess this is worth the visit.
