This unique accessory store opened up in Glenelg this year. The owner is beautifully dressed and gracious in her approach and certainly passionate about her stock. On visiting the store recently , she spent a lot of time and patience showing me her diverse selection of watches. It is good to find a shop that offers something different in an era of mass produced products. So, if you are looking for something different for yourself or a gift and have quite a few dollars to spend this could be for you.

It was full of all sorts of bags and all different colours. The shop assistant was extremely helpful. Mum described what kind of bag she would like and the type she didn't want. The lady showed mum several options and was patient with mum's indecisiveness. Touche de Paris also sells other accessories such as jewellery, watches, wallets and sunglasses. I'm not sure if I'd recommend this store to my friends (because it seems a bit mature for our age group), but I would recommend it to anyone with a taste for Paris, luxury and a big budget!

The clothing is fairly diverse and caters for a range of budgets. You can buy a casual outfit right through to a dress for formal. They often have a sales rack out the front to attract customers inside but don't forget to look down the back near the change rooms as there is usually another sales rack hidden there. They also have a good selection of accessories to complete your outfit.

Their range is quite eclectic, and changes often. When this place is busy, it's a little overwhelming. There are women speaking loudly from all angles, and the shop assistants are very flamboyant, which can be quite fun. I often try to sneak in here for a quiet browse, but if it's busy I don't bother. Though, the sales racks are always worth a look, even if you have to elbow your way in to see them.

This Cotton On is no exception - I think it's actually more chaotic that others in the chain. This store is just a standard guys' and girls' clothing shop. No kids' wear or underwear here. Thank goodness, because it's crazy enough without. I dove in here desperately seeking shorts, as the ones I was wearing were hideous, according to both myself and my boyfriend, and I'd subsequently spilt chocolate all over them. The sales racks down the back of the store were overflowing with size 8s of all styles. I can't resist a $10 pair of shorts, so I kept looking until I found something closer to my normal size 12 (of which there were NONE to be seen.) Half an hour later I stagger out with nothing. Why don't these clothes fit? What's wrong with me?? So apparently, I'm a size 14 around the legs, but not the backside. How does that work? I seem pretty proportional - I'm big all over!! Yet the shorts gape like crazy at the back. Maybe you're just meant to wear them a lot tighter at the front? Ew. I now recall why I don't shop here. Nothing ever fits. This saddens me, because I like cheap clothing, and I like their casual styles. Sadly, it is not meant to be.

It is at this point of dressless attire and stress that a lightening bolt moment hits, and reminds me that there is one more aesthetically pleasing dress shop to possibly save me. Suddenly, hope remains. Located in the Marina Pier at Glenelg, this shop is often forgotten about until you casually happen to pass it by. There really are some nice collections here at Montaigo. Their windows are impeccable and devine, often displaying full length red carpet gowns. Totally worth heading to if you are attempting on dressing to impress. So before you give up hope and are so desperate that you are about to fly to Melbourne for a dress, don't forget about Montaigo.

Some years ago I bought a bag among many other items from this shop. I also had purchased a number…read moreof times from their other outlet at Eastwood as well as theit Harbour Town one which is now called something else. I am very careful with my things. I take good care of them. The handbag cost $35 10 years ago which wasn't the cheapest for what it was. A cheaply made accessory. After a couple of times of me using it, literally, the seams became undone and the lining became loose, no longer attached to the outer vinyl fabric. Threads were hanging and it looked awful. I brought the handbag less than a week later to the store with receipt of purchase bur the proprietor or manager, she was one of the two, refused to give me a refund. This kind of thing should not have happened to a product so soon after purchase. It has never happened to me before or since! The proprietor said that she couldn't be sure I didn't overload the bag with personal belongings! I only kept my purse, phone, keys, couple of tissues and sometimes a lipstick in it. The woman said she could sew and repair the bag herself if I left it with her for some days. I found her attitude unacceptable given how new the item was. Although I was a regular customer I stopped going to all their shops after this experience. Their "knitwear" and scarves smelled like petroleum too. Not recommended. Of course I don't know if new owners are there now. The lady who refused me a refund wore glasses.

There are a lot of garments in this shop that I couldn't imagine anyone looking good in but then there is the occasional item that looks incredible and is still cheap. One of my favourite summer dresses is from here and everyone comments on it (in a good way). This is a shop where it is worth fighting through the squashy racks. Near the counter there is always a display of inexpensive shoes, purses and other accessories. It is also, strange but true, good for cheap sports socks, go figure! The name of the shop caught my attention, and I presumed it would be a poxy range of tourist items - and it certainly has plenty of these. However, if I was a tourist unprepared for an Australian summer, I would be quite happy to find a place like this. They sell thongs, hats, sunscreen, boardshorts and plenty of daggy t-shirts to keep the sun off. They also sell sunscreening moisturiser, tea tree soap and eucalyptus oil. Their range of hats is one of the best around the area. There are, of course, boomerangs and prints of aboriginal art for sale. They sell kids clothing saying cute things (as they always do) and plenty of fridge magnets and stuffed koalas. However, there is plenty in here that you might not expect, and it really is a very useful store.

I don't often wear women's clothing. In fact, I NEVER wear women's clothing…read more Okay. It was ONE time. But it's funny how often a dude'll have to be inside a women's clothing store. In fact, it's interesting to see the time spent in women's clothing stores when outside of a relationship as compared to time spent in women's clothing stores when INSIDE a relationship. I'm sure the comparison would be staggering. I like to treat trips to women's clothing stores like trips to art museums. I don't quite understand what I'm supposed to be looking at, but I try to appreciate what I'm seeing all the same. At some stores this is easy. At others, it's impossible. Impulse Boutique is the type of store that makes it easy. I like the look of a lot of the dresses, and am even able to make suggestions! I'll say to milady, 'How about THIS one?' And she loves it. Of course, she's not once picked one of my suggestions. They're all terrible, apparently. But the fact that I'm (allegedly) putting in the effort does wonders. And from what I understand, the selection at Impulse quickly changes.

Chasing Nel made the move from Brighton Road to Glenelg recently and I think this was a good idea…read more They are now amongst the other fashion boutiques along Jetty Road which makes it easier for Chasing Nel fans to incorporate them into their day of shopping. I walked into Chasing Nel this week for the first time since it's been at Glenelg and I was greeted as I came in. I had a browse and the price tags began at about $50 and higher. Chasing Nel is a great place to go if you are looking for fashionable clothing and can afford to spend a bit. Their clothing ranges from party dresses to casual day wear and swimwear. They also sell gorgeous Peep toe shoes and accessories. If you prefer to shop online or live too far, there is also the option of their online store. Happy shopping ladies!
