The doctor stated I could try Flonase daily for a couple of months, and if it didn't work, she could put a tube in my ear. At the second appointment, I explained the pressure is still there, but I acknowledged I had not consistently used the medicine since the first visit. At that point the doctor offered to place the tube in my ear during the appointment, or I can use Flonase daily to see if it helps. I opted to go with the original plan using Flonase daily. The doctor stated if it doesn't work, she can place the tube in my ear. Since daily Flonase didn't work, I called and scheduled the appointment to have the tube placed in my ear. Note: I made it clear during the call to make this third appointment that it was for the procedure to be completed as the need for the procedure had already been discussed and established. I arrive to the appointment only to have the nurse practitioner tell me that today's appointment was only to discuss the procedure and I would have to schedule the procedure for another date. I told her that the procedure was already discussed with the doctor and I made it clear when I made the appointment that I was coming to have the procedure completed. I also explained that the doctor offered to conduct the procedure during my previous appointment. Of course the nurse practitioner couldn't care less and was completely indifferent! Icing on the cake, it was nearly 30 minutes after my appointment when the nurse practitioner told me the doctor wasn't even there yet! ENT's are a dime a dozen. My advice, avoid this one!

Dr. Ung performed surgery on me back in 2010 for polyps that I had in my frontal and maxillary sinus cavities as well as fixing my deviated septum. Not for one single moment, did I worry about his care. He did NOT use packing on me, and treated my parents (who took me to and from surgery) with exceptional detailed information about what he was going to do, and after surgery even held a consultation with them to show pictures and progress. Just on Monday, I had a second procedure completed by Dr. Ung. Not related to the first surgery, this one was on my conche (turbinates) inside of the nasal cavities. Once again, top notch service, professionalism and kindness. I did not get knocked out for this procedure, and did not EVER feel even the slightest pain during or after the procedure. I actually talked to him the entire time and he patiently answered my questions while he worked on me. My initial meeting of him was back in early 2010, and since then, I have referred over 10 people (all who let me know they needed ENT care specifically). I went there on a day off from work, almost a one hour drive from Chicago. After paying my co-pay, I learned that I would be seeing a Physician Assistant (PA), not a physician. If I want to see a PS, I can go to an Urgent Clinic. For a specialty, I expect to see a MD or DO or DPM. I explained the issue to the PA and it was as if I didn't speak at all. He wanted me to have a CT scan of my sinuses; I told him I did not have sinus issues. He wanted me to get tested for sleep apnea; I told him I did not have sleep issues. Then he wanted to do an endoscope of my nasal passages, a MANUAL endoscope. During the initial conversation, I told him that I didn't do well on the decongestant known as Afrin. He wanted to spray my nose with a lidocaine-Afrin mixture. OK, he must not listen... The entire process took less than ten (10) minutes, and he discovered that my right nasal passage was very narrow. Just like I told him. To prepare for the CT, he prescribed a strong antibiotic for one month and fluticasone spray. I told him that I already used this spray daily and it was not good medical practice to prescribe antibiotics when there is no indication of infection. But, he is the professional. He said it was required by my health insurance provider (true, I checked). I did not schedule the CT; the antibiotic vial sits unused in my bathroom. Eventually, I will dispose of it in accordance with govt. recommendations. Today, I received notification of my bill. Six hundred twenty five dollars ($625.00) for the endoscope! I will pay it, but not until I receive a complete, unredacted copy of the record for this visit. BTW, I have a certificate in Medical Technology, a degree in Chemistry, and have spent the last 45 years in various aspects of human health care.

At my most recent visit, Dr. Saidha did not appear to recognize me or be familiar with my medical history. She had only a single sheet of paper and seemed confused about my prior visits. When I requested to go over of my last three test results, she reacted as if the request was unreasonable. She also acted like it had been a year since my last visit, when in fact I had seen her less than 2 week earlier. Additionally, she was rude and became defensive when I asked questions about the next steps in my care. This lack of familiarity with my case and unwillingness to communicate clearly made me very uncomfortable. It is difficult to trust a physician with surgical care or any type of care when they do not seem aware of the patient in front of them. Additionally, she often seemed rushed during appointments and appeared to make assumptions about the next steps rather than thoroughly explaining the treatment plan.
