Seriously one of the best clubs I've been to, especially for its size…read more I went on a Monday night and had a great experience in almost every way. (1) The prices are unbelievable (or were in Monday night): no cover charge, 1€ bag check, 6€ for what I think was an entire liter of beer, 3€ shots. Even in Spain that would be a bargain, let alone the middle of Paris. (2) The hours served me really well. I'm always happy to find a club open on weekday evenings. Things were already moving at about 10:00 (very early by European standards). (3) The people were partying! When I arrived there were only about a dozen, but the dancing was very on. Some other clubs seem to wait until the room is packed and the people are drunk, but these people were at it from the beginning. It was almost entirely guys and girls in their early 20s, possibly a couple more guys than girls at the time, but not a huge disparity and possibly a fluke. (4) The music wasn't great but it did the trick. Bunch of over-popular US songs (mostly rock and some hip-hop) mixed with some French numbers. No real DJ work going on but hey, it was party music and it had the people moving. All in all, this is a gem. It's almost certainly a local spot mostly unknown to tourists, which is why it's so subtle, so underpriced, and so concentrated with local energy.

It's been permanently closed down. Not sure why that hasn't been posted yet. Ordered an Uber there…read morefor nothing.

I wanted to love this place, I did. Especially when I heard about it through a friend of a friend…read morewho was actually flown to Paris to spend 3 months helping David Lynch himself design and execute the space before it opened. So, of course, we simply HAD to go check it out on our trip to Paris. Anything David Lynch is part of, I want to see/experience. However, it did not deliver. Sure it was dark (it's a crazy 4-6 stories below ground), but it is mysterious & chic? Well, given that those with a membership can enter from 6p-11p and enjoy it privately and the public can enter after 11p and the public that lines up beginning at 11p kinda ruins the whole vibe, the answer would be a hard no. We arrived and on one side was a line for the dreaded "bottle service" - those willing to pay hundreds and thousands of €, to sit inside a velvet roped area inside the club, Gross. Strike one. We got into the line on the other side, where the bouncers were acting like it was a cross between Studio 54 and an exclusive rap club. They were hassling locals, making them sweat to get in. Then, when it's our turn, they immediately recognize that we're non-locals and speak English to us. They were actually cordial, but said "Good evening sir - - €25 each!" Ugh, strike two. After descending into the cavernous space, which is actually pretty cool, you quickly realize it very small and the seating is all bottle service/"VIP". Then you also realize the crowd is not the hip, creative cognoscenti of Paris, but rather the Parisian version of frat boys and sorority girls, that have zero interest in art, culture and likely have zero idea who David Lynch is. Strike three. Am I glad I went to see it, sure, but I think we stayed 45 mins tops. Ugh.

Probably a good club, but horrible staff, especially the short one who is balding, turns everyone…read moredown. Me and my friend from Scandinavia, were wearing proper clothing, had our IDs with us AND bought tickets, got turned down three times with no reason. He just told us dont try again, or i will touch you & I dont have to explain why. And I can assure you we look good and are amazing people with important connections. Horrible staff. Dont recommend.

Great club great club! Hands down!…read more We were super disappointed about Rex from the night before. But my parisian friend insists Moulin Rouge is a must-go. And yes, the sofa near the entrance still remain the classics of Moulin Rouge. Two main stages is not a big deal. But the third floor was the live for Nova Radio. I was imaging my favourite Digitalism and Sebastian all kind of started like this... This beats Brooklyn(willamsburg) and Amsterdam for me :)

When they saw me sitting there, they threw me out because "my piercing looked like I had been doing drugs". i had to insist to be allowed to as much as wash my hands. They didn't look through my bag or anything, i guess my privates and my piercing were the points of interest? I was later let back in by another security staff member who tried to gaslight me into believing the door was ajar. It was not. I saw it turn in slow motion as I was wiping my blood from my crotch and these two disgusting individuals were standing there shouting at me. Only reason I went back in was because there was no way to get anywhere safely at that time and I had a flight the next day. When I had to pee next I had my camera ready but they only did that once.

Reading the previous reviews on how people were treated, I was extremely apprehensive. My wife…read morestayed positive and said we would be fine. I thought I was about to get thrown out Fresh Prince of Bel Air Jazzy Jeff style. I was wrong. Terribly wrong. We were on line for maybe 10 minutes tops. They had the option of pre-ordering tickets but we learned you can pay for your entrance with cash or card. After kicking out the people in front of us off the line, which had me tense, they Chanted New York and let us in. Everybody that worked there were extremely nice and the music was jumping!!! They were playing deep house music nonstop. Our favorite!! One thing to note: the place is a very young crowd and if you want to really let loose and dance, good luck. The place was packed. Could barely get into my groove, but all in all we had a great time! I would suggest getting there early. In between 12 and 1am. Any later and you'll be on the line we saw forming ad we were leaving.

My 3 friends and I had just come from a nice dinner (where there was a strict business attire dress…read morecode) and were looking for a nice local place to go out, and this extremely rude woman who worked at Rex at the front entrence looked at my friends and I up and down with a nasty look on her face before saying "non, pas possible", saying we couldn't go in because of "how we are dressed". Ive heard of being under dressed for a venue but not overdressed.. anyways this place sucks and it's filled with tourists and snobs.

I will do my fellow anglophones a favor and write an English review of the dark and wonderful…read moreplace: I recently spent a week in Paris and, true to what I heard, the goth/industrial scene is VERY underground there. You won't find anything advertised online (the last true goth club shuttered in 2008), and those frenchies aren't too big on facebook either. Nevertheless I managed to sniff out this place hidden in a backstreet over in Le Marais near the Bastille, and boy was it worth it. Some highlights: ----PROS---- - The setting is VERY MUCH like the Vault in SoHo, NYC. Basically, this was place is a former wine cellar complete with interconnected catacombs deep underground and renovated with a sound system and awesome lighting. Doesn't get better. - Incredible decor complete with authentic medieval suits of armor, swords, and coffins, and laser lights. - Great sound despite being built like a bomb shelter. Great EBM DJs on the night I went there. - Safe, clean neighborhood. I had no problem walking all the way home up Magenta Boulevard at 3am. ----CONS---- - Only open Saturday, and is open from 11am - 2am. Not a lot of time to party for a true night owl to enjoy it. - $10 euro cover - Dancing on stone all night = knee surgery a few years down the road. - The arched cave ceilings are very low: if you are a particularly tall person there is very little space for you to dance. - If you are claustrophobic you will probably not enjoy it here. It is deep underground and labyrinthine. - It is probably far from wherever your hotel is, since most tourists don't stay around the Bastille.

The place has character, worth it just for that. Use caution and watch your head or flailing hands…read morewhen enjoying your groove. Drinks were priced for the space, but not terrible. Great times can be had, check it out.

I went over to a man working there near the DJ booth and asked if there was more live music on. He looked super angry and like a thug and shrugged and said 'i don't know' . Then I was wondering what to do as people had dispersed .. I saw a couple smoking a cigarette at the back of the bar. Me being from another country and not knowing French laws followed suit and lit a cigarette. It was such a dark and dingy bar that i wouldn't be surprised for patrons to smoke there. When my cigarette was almost finished the same angry thug looking man came up to me and grabbed my hand aggressively and squeezed it hard manhandling me until my wrist hurt and took the cigarette out of my hand and said 'get out! Get out! You are forbidden to ever be in this club again! You have broken French laws. I'm escorting you out!' I have never been treated like this in my life like I was a thief or a horrible person. I didn't know French laws were as such and it was an innocent mistake. I was manhandled and in the USA I could sue this bar for touching me in this way. I will investigate French laws and might file a claim. No one should aggressively manhandle a woman this way. Disgusting treatment of patrons. He could have kindly asked me to put the cigarette out and I would have complied. Never go this bar. Also expensive drinks
