Linda does my hair color & I'm happy with that. BUT! The manicurist Lili is another story. As she did opposite things to my left & right hands, I asked her why. She took offense & left me. I was dumbstruck... as the colorist was doing my hair at the same time, I asked her if there was anything wrong that I said. Apparently, the manicurist Lili is very moody & does this often. Why they keep her I don't know. As all the other nail specialists run away after a few weeks, this one can be a diva as the salon is stuck with her. I would have never thought I will have to write a review like this but so far Yelp reviews have been very useful for me so I need to Yelp Yelpers here so you can save your money and your time! I carefully read the comments before writing it. It is true that French hair styler are usually good but you have good ones and bad ones everywhere. I am French, and thanks to close friends I have already been to amazing hair salons in France. Not amazing because fancy but amazing because of the professionalism, kindness, passion... I was afraid when I took my appointment because I have short hair since two years now and if you cut them wrong I can quickly have a man haircut! Also, I had the same hair styler and girls will understand my fear here! First of all, the front desk person is a little scary and not really friendly. I think she becomes friendly depending on what you are going to spend and how often you go. She might think she is but you can easily see that she just cares about money. I left and she did not even ask if I was satisfy or happy. Now my haircut, the hair styler took his time, which is great because I am wondering how I would look right now if it was a busy day and he had to rush. He did not ask me any questions though when he was looking at my hair style, so I thought he got it. I have short hair so it should not be too hard :-) I will never go back there, because he did not respect the hair cut style I had before, he did not show me the back of my head, he did not even ask me if I was satisfied and simply not a really good hair styler. He did not really shape my hair line and he left me some hair on my neck! When my husband came back, he was really sad for me, usually he can't say if I cut my hair or not and I really look like a little boy, but what is really sad is that the hair styler is satisfied!! Imagine the professionalism! Then, when I payed the front desk lady, she asked for 70$ !!!! I was told two weeks before that it was 45$, I should have not trust the girl and checked the prices myself. So I do not mind paying 70$ for a good job but for this, it is like taking 70$ out of your wallet and ripping it up. They charged me an extra $60 saying that what I got was more expensive than what they originally thought- I only asked to have my hair one shade darker it's not complicated, so I didn't understand where the confusion was! The worst was that the color she did was Not at all the color I wanted- I wanted my hair darker and she made my roots look lighter than what I originally had!!! - it's the first time my color cost so much and it's the first time I come out a hair salon and I hate it!!! This is my 3rd visit this year to this beauty salon and the last one. I spend quite a bit of time in Florida and was planning to continue my patronage, even though the highlights done in the early spring were not visible and the stylist who cut my hair left. They lost my good will and money because of an unpleasant experience with the woman who collected the fee after the service. I asked for the price and I heard $55. When I saw the credit card bill, it was $65. She got into an argument with me stating that it is impossible that I have paid in the past $55. I know that this was the price the stylist gave me. But she made me the customer feel like my statement was untrue. That is not a way to speak to a customer. Though the woman who cut my hair this time was pleasant and the cut was fine, I would not go back there again and would not recommend them. read more

They ruined my hair by doing colour ( roots) followed by Keritan straightening of the bang area. My hair started falling out soon after and left a big bald spot at the front of my forehead. I was devastated!!! Despite the warning online to never do this and many many hairdressers since expressing horror at what was done, the manager Martine insisted they still do it that way!! It cost me over $1000 to get some extensions and try to cover the hole. When I complained, she offered me a gift certificate for the cost of the straightening which was only &195 ( thank goodness I didnt do the whole head!). I agreed to take it because by then some of the hair had grown back ( tho' in a steely black twist). Then when I went to pick up the certificate, she made it out for only $100 saying that's all she could give me. I should have sued the pants off them! They are NOT to be trusted. read more

Maria takes the time to not only evaluate the current condition of your hair color (all those lousy box jobs you're trying to hide now), but to understand what it is you want to see with your hair color. Sometimes we speak in tongues when trying to explain the "perfect" look, but Maria manages to bridge the gap from unrealistic expectations to the recovery our hair needs. The result is a flattering shade even better than imagined! The Good: Flexible scheduling. They can usually take me without an appointment, or if I just call an hour or two ahead. The Bad: Sometimes there are other customers who are a bit cranky (because they have to wait a teensy bit longer because someone... A-hem...had an appointment squeezed in during their usual time slot). I just pop another chocolate in my mouth and let the FashionTV drown them out. The Oh-So-Pretty: Me!!! After getting new eye brows and a richer hair color, my friends tell me that I look 10 years younger and 10 lbs skinnier. Very disappointed... I like to do my nails at Jean Claude Biguine salon in Sunny Isles but their location is very busy and it's hard to make an appointment for next day. First time I made my appointment at Surfside location I was running a bit late and I called them to let them know, they said it's fine. I arrived and they told me that the girl that supposed to do my nails is busy with another client and told me to wait. I waited 30 minutes!!!! And then they told me that another client is here and they don't have time for me... I was very upset... but decided to give it another chance. Second time I made an appointment for gel manicure at 5:30pm. I left work earlier and was able to arrive earlier so I called them to see if they can reschedule for 5 and they said yes!!! I came in at 5 and women at the front told me that my appointment is at 5:30 and no one remembered talking to me ???!! I decided to wait 30 minuets.... at 5:30 the same woman asked me what service am I doing and I said gel manicure. She told me that they don't have anyone who is doing gel manicure right now and another client is here to do nails!!!!! I was so upset!!!!!! Be careful about any color treatmentt or cut here.. I'm still dealing with massive damage as a result from color and highlights that were kept on too long, burnt and eventually broke my hair. It is very upsetting and will take years to repair. I remember sitting with color and highlights after timer had expired. I've never in my whole life had any issue with color going back 15+ years and I never make any comments on this platform. However considering the extensive damage that I am still dealing with today I'm very very upset with the years of repair ahead of me. Bangs I never wanted but now created from breakage, every layer is broken and uneven and generally rough burnt hair. Beware. read more

I came in with a picture to get my hair colored for my wedding. I wanted a bayalage ombre with blonde ends. The colorist made my hair white. I told her i was not happy and she tried to fix it. It still looked horrible and the texture turned it brittle and started breaking off. I had to go to a colored specialist to get it semi fixed. Please DO NOT GO HERE. They will ruin your hair. I asked for a refund and the owner would not give it to me. she said to come in and they will try and fix it, but why would i come back when they ruined my hair?!?! read more

I came as a walk in on Christmas Eve with no expectance of booking an appointment, but was surprised when I was able to get in on the spot. Everyone working there was genuine and friendly. I recently had an appointment here to get my hair done for a formal event in town. Since I am not from the area, a relative made the appointment for me. When she made the appointment she told them I was looking to have a simple updo and she then let me know after what time it was confirmed for. When I arrived for my appointment I was informed they could not do an updo and the receptionist claimed she told my relative this when the appointment was made. I know for a fact that this relative would have let me know if they couldn't do this and it was insulting that they claimed otherwise. I expressed frustration since I did have a wedding in just a couple of hours and after showing all of the stylists the simple updo I wanted, they concluded they could not make it happen. Now being pressed for time I agreed to a blowout and asked them to add curls so at least my hair looked done. The stylist doing my hair took quite a long time and didn't really seem to know how to curl hair. I asked her to pin my bangs back away from my face so it appeared more elegant and this was apparently a very challenging task. In the end my hair looked a bit frizzy and not at all like the sleek curls I was hoping for. When I went to check out I was told it was $52, 40 for the blowout and another $12 to add curls! Considering the curls looked like frizzy waves this was absolutely ridiculous. I paid just to get the hell out of there because I was so frustrated and already late with getting ready for my event. Overall, I could have done my hair on my own for a lot cheaper. This kind of service surely would not cut it in NYC. read more

EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. I have been going here for over one year. I had an appointment yesterday and I called to let them know I'd be TEN minutes late. The manager (blonde guy) answered the phone and as soon as he picked up, he gave it to the colorist to relay to me that I would have to reschedule. I begged the colorist to please see me since I would be going out of town for two weeks and I absolutely could not reschedule (again, I would only be TEN minutes late.) She agreed but said that although she would color my hair, they might not be able to cut it (since I was going to be SO late.) In short, I arrived, I was made to wait fifteen minutes before they started on my color. The manager did not greet me or look at me in the eye. I ended up getting a hair cut as well but who knows what the manager and the hairdresser were saying in French the whole time I was sitting there. Manager left for the day, said goodbye to everyone except me. I could tell the hairdresser was upset about having to service me.This is not the way I expect to be treated after I have been a loyal customer for over one year.I have to say that Maria (the colorist) is great at her job and is also very friendly but I will have to miss her since I am NOT going back. read more

I have been going to this salon for 4 years using the same colorist/hairstylist Michal. Other than the front desk workers, who are downright rude and surly, all has been well until now. I had my hair colored and although Michal should know my color by now it seems he must of had temprary amnesia as instead of blonde he made my hair brown underneath and the roots. Upon requesting he fix it, be basically told me there was nothing to fix, it looked good. He then insisted I just needed more highlights. I told him I have never had highlights and he kept insisting I did. I would think afternoon being his customer for years he would know what HE does with my color. I walked out never to return. I feel if a customer has an issue she should not be told there is nothing to fix. Upon telling him this is not my usual color he just kept on fighting with me..
