I wasn't able to work on it myself so a friend told me to take it to dominant. as I said, the truck has a few things that needed doing so I told him to do the brake line first. micheal bailey said he could have it done in no time. it didn't seem to be that way though. after a week I asked if the truck was done and was told he needed to order parts, for a brake line? I didn't think that was the problem but ok. I called there again a few days later and was told he needed to get parts, exactly what I was told the first time. he had my truck 11 days...11 whole days for a brake line! when I went to get it I was charged $656.60. he then said the brakes would stop the truck but be careful. I should have paid more attention after that ominous statement. when I got it home I thought all was ok. I went to check my mailbox and as I was behind the truck a few yards I could the brake line hanging down! I got down to see what was up with the line. when he had bent the line to follow the contours of the bell housing which looked fine but as it was going to the left rear wheel it, the line, was hanging about 7 inches below the axle with all of it exposed. it's a 4 wheel drive truck and I go to fishing spots that are pretty rough. that line was wrong, just wrong. a tree branch a stump or anything I would go over the brake line would have been torn right out. very shoddy work for sure. I took it to a couple of garages closer to home and both guys said the line was dangerous. I was asked how much did I pay. I told them and one guy that was far too much. one of them even said he could have done all the brake lines for $400 and have it back to me in three days. it seems I was having to pay a whole lot more because he didn't know the proper way to do it. I've never written anything like this before but I just had to write this. I'll never go back there and will tell people I know to avoid the place. I hope he reads this and say that wasn't how it went. people, all I've written is true.

During the phone…read moreconsultation, they mentioned additional repairs were needed (spark plugs and coil), specifically referencing 'since you like to do these things yourself' - which reasonably implied this was information for future self-repair. I specifically authorized only the hose repair and diagnostic testing. They texted that my car was ready with a total bill of $407.67, including $262+ for unauthorized spark plug and coil replacements. When questioned via text (screenshots attached), they offered to remove the new parts and charge only for the authorized work ($127.33). While I appreciate this resolution and them working me in on short notice, upon arrival they informed me they would no longer work on my vehicle - simply because I questioned unauthorized repairs. Additionally, they damaged my engine cover by overtightening it with a power tool, making future self-repairs more difficult when I go in to change the spark plugs and coils myself. 1 star for making the billing right when questioned, but cannot recommend a shop that performs unauthorized repairs, damages components, and then refuses future service when professionally questioned about it. Clear communication, proper care of components, and customer authorization should be standard practice.

I met Mr. Roland maybe six years ago before I purchased a truck from a dealership near his shop. I…read morewanted to have the truck checked out before I purchased it, and the auto dealer recommended Roland. I thought maybe that was a conflict of interest and wanted to take it to my own mechanic. My mechanic was backed up and couldn't get away, so I reluctantly took the truck to Mr. Roland, and I was beyond satisfied with his expertise, service, and kindness. He drove the truck and turned the steering wheel a few times while driving straight and explained why he did that. He turned down the radio to listen for any noises that may have been out of the ordinary. He did a few quick stop-and-go checks to check the brakes. He did a hands-on examination and told me that I would eventually need to have a tiny hole in the muffler repaired at some point, but it wasn't major and recommended a shop. He told me the tailgate latch was tricky to open, but showed me how to open it without problems. And he also guaranteed me that he could beat any price in town. With that being said, a year later, my GMC Terrain started stalling and shutting off whenever I would come to a complete stop, which was kind of scary. I took it to Firestone, and they placed it on a machine to diagnose it and quoted $700+ to fix the issue. I then remembered Mr. Roland and went to see him. He called one of his technicians out, and while the car was running, he asked the technician what he thought was wrong? The technician put his ear to my car to listen to it and told Mr. Roland the exact same thing that Firestone had said. That was very impressive considering they did not have to put my car on a machine to diagnose it. Mr. Roland, not knowing what Firestone had quoted me, said it would cost me about $300+ to repair it. They were kind of busy that morning, but he managed to squeeze me in. I went next door to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, made some business calls, played a few games on my phone, and did a little shopping to pass time. Within two hours, my car was ready. I've been back a few times to have my vehicles inspected and/ or repaired. In fact, it's been a while, and I need to have my GMC checked out again, so I'll be calling Mr. Roland.
