Penneys, you're onto something. I was skeptical about the new lower prices but I got a couple of dresses, two pairs of shoes and some other stuff at good prices. The boots were like $45 and they are Liz and Co. The dresses would've been about 18 to 25 dollars more at most stores. Something seems different at your checkouts, too. I did not have to wait very long. Sometimes in the past I did have to. Not this time. The clerks were more helpful than they used to be, too. I don't know if there are more workers scheduled or what, but there is a difference. read more

My mom received a Christmas in July Black Friday sale book from JCPenney. I flipped through every page and experienced a wave of nostalgia from my childhood growing up in Springfield and flipping through their gigantic catalogues at Christmas time wishing for every toy advertised. I want brand new towels for my bathroom so I waited for the advertised start date for the sale and off I went. I'm so glad that JCPenneys still exists. They have nice clothing and shoes reasonably priced and in eye catching styles. And upstairs has a nice home decor department. I gave the stylist three chances. She was supposed to be one of their best ones. Everytime she washed my hair she drowned me. The towel would be sopping wet after holding it to my face because she was so aggressive with the water. The last time I went she put a cape on me that she had used on her previous client. When she took the cape off I had black hair all over my clothes. She is not friendly at all and payed dumb with me. Not giving me the cut I wanted. I'm done. Very unprofessional. The towels were raggedy and frayed. The place needs an update. read more

This review is for the salon inside of JCPenney. The first time I had my hair cut here is was dissappointed, but for some reason I made the mistake of going back. Second go was the worse haircut I have ever had. She immediately washed my hair. Never even took a look at how I was currently wearing my hair or asked about my style! FYI - they will charge you extra to blow-dry your hair. read more

This is in response to the review in regards to transgender use of the changing rooms. Who is JCPenney to judge if segregated changing rooms are needed? They are not and no individual is. Kudos to them for simply removing (if in fact that is what they have done as previous reviewer states) segregated changing rooms and leaving each to their own mind on where they belong. In an educated society this should not be an issue. Sad that a company gets a 1 star review for such bigotry. read more

My husband and I went men's suit shopping yesterday. I've truly never had a better experience. Delbert was the associate who helped us and HE WAS AMAZING!!! He went above and beyond helping us find sizes, giving us tips on style, finding matching accessories, explaining pricing and discounts, etc. Next time we need any dress clothes, it'll be back to JCP and Delbert for help!!! read more

It's JCPenney's, you've been to one, you've been to them all. For me it's always a bit of a hunt to find what I'm looking for and then if I find it, find it in the right size. I don't know if they don't have associates on the floor or not anymore, but I always have trouble finding help if I need it. This is my go to place for dress shirts. They always have men's fitted shirts and have great sales. The store design is confusing at times but everything is organized in their particular department. This is a great place to buy gifts for the women in your life. Their cash wraps are plentiful but many times no one knows where the line is. They are very affordable and do a good job offering premium items that might be found elsewhere at a greater cost. read more

I placed an order for buy one get one free online with JCP. I only received one but paid the full price. I called customer service and they told me they could not send me the free one because I had only marked one in the quantity. I assumed that mean for the bundle. I would have to pay for a second one. Too bad, I will not order from them again. I have ordered for many years and spent thousands of dollars. No wonder they are losing business. Very disappointed. read more

Stefanie and Drew who work in the Jewelery department are extremely unprofessional and rude. After being "disconnected" on the phone with Drew not one or two BUT 3 times after asking to talk to a manager because he couldn't answer our questions we decided to take the 5 minute drive up to the store to find someone willing to help. However, when we arrived we had the unfortunate pleasure of hearing Stefanie and Drew not only talking about my phones calls but laughing how about how I was wrong. They both stopped laughing real quick once I called them out. Even after they realized I was the person they were just making fun of Stefani continued to be very very rude. Once they realized I was right about the ring being back from being sized (UPS tracking code) stefani seemed to get even more rude after realizing she was wrong. UNBELIEVABLE!!! First, I've had great success with the salon, because I followed my stylist, Nigel, there from his former salon. It is a busy place with all kinds of folks, but you will get good...nay, EXCELLENT hair from Nigel and so it just comes down to a stylist with whom you have a rapport. That said, the home store is just okay, lots of cooking stuff which is sometimes hard to find in this city of restaurants (but BB&Beyond has more) and sheets/towels/pillows are well-stocked. The mall store has quantity and good price in "regular" clothes. If you are worried about being on-trend and way stylish, you might go somewhere else, but if you want to buy clothes and still have money left over, this is it. Oh, shoe department? Not so much. Because they are not separately categorized, I am combining reviews for the JC Penney store in Battlefield Mall as well as the JC Penney Home Store in Primrose Marketplace (just southeast of the mall). I would give both stores 4 stars. They are consistently clean, well-stocked, and all sales and specials are clearly marked. I have noticed a higher than average level of customer service for the type of store, especially in the JC Penney Home Store. I love having that separate from the "main" store because it just has a specialty feel and the staff seem well-versed in the areas where they work. There's also a fairly impressive furniture selection at the store. The mall location has a good selection of ladies clothing for all ages, sizes, and lifestyles, making it a great place to buy gifts for family members. They also have a smallish Sephora counter inside JC Penney, which is great but a little puzzling to me, since the full-size Sephora store is practically across the hallway inside the same mall. JC Penney has been around forever and in some areas I've experienced horrible service and dirty stores but in Springfield, MO they seem to be on top of their game. read more

I have been going to this salon for over a year and love it. The one that does my hair is extremely good at what she does and she has 40 years behind her in doing hair and even owned her own salon. I love talking to her and she will go out of her way to do your hair to what you want and believe me I change styles like I change my clothes and she is always willing to make me happy. But, a client has to take some responsibility and make it very well known as to what you want. I do and I am never sorry with the results !!!!! The cost is no different than when I used to go to a different salon so I rate my stylist as high as you can. :) read more

I don't understand the negative reviews for the salon. I travel from the Branson area to the springfield store because I found a hair stylist that I feel that I can trust and I love the way she does my hair. I've never found anyone who understood what color I was wanting before. She took the time to ask the right questions and really enjoyed what she was doing. BTW I'm talking about Juanita. Might not have that spelled right. I would love it if there were a salon down here and I didn't have to travel an hour to get there. The only negative point that I have is that I wanted to get my nails done for a special occasion and they do manicures but not artificial nails. This review is for JC Penney Home Store. I have had good experiences at the JC Penney store in the mall. I have purchased quite a lot for our home at this their Home store. I recently had an exchange to make at the JC Penney Home Store. I was exchanging for more expensive items and had a coupon to use. When I was checking out, the register wasn't calculating my coupon correctly. I politely asked the saleslady to recheck it. She became very irritated when I asked her this. I reassured her that I was a very good customer and that I just wanted to make sure that my check out was correct. She then sarcastically asked " Oh? You are a good customer? How many thousands of dollars do you spend here every month?" She criticized me for returning the items (I had purchased them 2 days before) as the store "would have to take a hit" on their return. I don't know that I have ever been treated so rudely before at a store!!! I did report this incident to JC Penney in writing, but I have never been contacted regarding this interaction. I know that JC Penney is struggling financially, and with their customer service, I can see why. Since this has occurred, I have been doing my "home shopping" purchases at other retailers and will likely not return to this store. read more
