A friend bought me 2 blouses from JC Penny and gave me a gift receipt for my birthday. I went to return them and hopefully find a cool couch pillow instead. Well, when you return with a gift receipt the money goes back to the person's charge automatically! I said, what good is a gift receipt??? That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. read more

Lousy customer service. For a company that is struggling you would think they would help customers instead of driving them away. They told me no to exchanging a new pair of jeans with tags on them for a different size. That's it no money back just one size down and I was told no. I left the jeans there and will never return. They needed the jeans more than I did. read more

They really need to just shut this store down. You walk in and it's a literal ghost town. The employees look at you there with disgust like they don't want you in there. The girl in the cosmetic department was beyond rude and had an attitude when asked where we could pay. Found a register and every employee in the store was attempting to figure out how to use the computer (probably because they haven't used it in forever since there were literally 3 customers in the store). I am happy to say they have a nice plus sized section for women. I had to get two button down white shirts for my second job. I had to go to Men's department for them . I was pleasantly surprised when both of them cost 50.00 when I thought they would be 100. read more

This rating is for the hair salon. The stylist literally started using a dirty hairbrush on me! She grabbed a ton of dirty hair from the previous customer out of the brush and started using the brush on me. I stopped her and asked - I thought stylists are supposed to sanitize the brushes and combs in between clients. She said they only clean them at the end of the day! So gross! She said people can bring their own brushes and combs but I've never had to do that before and have never had a stylist use dirty brushes and combs on me. Then there is the issue of the hack job she did on my hair. I have long hair and she kept saying my hair was too long. Well after she was done with me - my hair was shockingly much shorter. I will never go back there again. Plus it was more expensive than my normal hair dresser who wasn't available. I was desperate as I had an interview and didn't think there could be much difference between salons - man was I wrong! I'm not sure but I think using dirty brushes and combs are against cosmetology licensing laws??? Totally gross! read more

Just got off the phone with JcPenney customer care,{which is obviously out sourced to another country. I had a problem with a coupon. They obviously changed there usage, and when I asked I was just 3x told the same new policy. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I got not response, just a cut off. This is the worst customer service ever. The company seems not to care about customer satisfaction or service. I do not plan on ever shopping there again. I can find the same merchandise elsewhere at the same or even better price. They don't care about losing a customer, which I found out in store and with my call when I mentioned just canceling my account. read more

Went into JC Penny's today for the first time being a new customer, not one person acknowledged the fact that we entered the store, with an associate standing right there, never looked up or even made eye contact with us, browsed the store and stopped into the Sephora cosmetics dept, asked an associate if she could help me, she stated I'm not really familiar with the products, and then I proceeded to ask her if I could see a particular product, she open the box and showed me the tin, I asked if I could see the inside so I would know what I was buying and she said nope, so I said well then I'm not purchasing it unless I know what I'm getting.We proceeded to stroll around and choose some item to purchase, as I was heading up from towards the counter, we passed many associates, again no one acknowledged us what so ever, we decided this is not a place where we would want to spend our money and will probably never step foot in there again, this is probably why they are on the verge of GOB, this company needs to train and educate there associates. read more

JC Penney, Wesley Chapel. Trisha DeHart (Rep) in Home Custom Decorator. In-home custom Window Treatments was a nightmare! I started the process of purchasing custom blinds and drapes back in April 2018. On May 18th I was told that the honeycomb blinds had arrived and Trisha scheduled installation for June 8th. That's works, my question then was when would drapes arrive? Trisha said, "Apparently looks like everything arrived today and is being checked in but we have you secured for the 8th." The Blinds were installed on the 8th as promised; I decided to add to my order and placed an order for shams for my master bedroom, drapes for my dining room and honeycombs blinds for sliding glass door. What a mistakes, I didn't hear anymore about my drapes so on July 3rd I sent communication to find about the status of the drapes. I was told she would check with the home office and get back to me. On July 6th, I get communication back stating, the home office is checking with the vendor... now remember, I was told back in May the items had arrived. Three days later, I received a text on July 9th at 5:47pm from Trisha, "Hi Yolanda-when you get a moment, pls call me so I can update you on your order. Thanks!" Back story, I explained to the rep that I would have friends in town for my Birthday weekend July 13th, the deadline to have everything completed. Low and behold, I get a call that the installers would be coming to my home to replace 3 blinds that didn't fit properly and install my sliding glass door honeycomb blinds as well as installing my drapes. Only to have Trisha comes to my home during installation to NOW tell me that my drapes were not approved for release so I have no drapes for my living room, kitchen, sliding glass door and dining room. Oh and my pillows didn't arrive... what my wonderful rep offer was for me to have a bottle of wine when things like this happen and of course pushing her books in my face to select another pattern. I never received, I'm sorry I know you have friends in town i here to offer immediate solution for the time being. The bottom line is working with Trisha is strictly about her commission not about the customer's satisfaction. The most recent wonderful service I received from Trisha and when I asked about my euro shams on July 27th. Trisha told me the shams we're delivered to me and after I locatd the box I send a picture to her via text showing that only the material was received and no pillows. Trisha email me back on July 28th stating, "Good morning Yolanda! I contacted the vendor and euro shams do not come with inserts. I did however see on the JCPenney website that there are 26 x 26 euro sham inserts on sale. The lack of communication and customer service starts from the top of the organization and trickles down to the employees especially the ones that work on commission... do yourself a favor stay away from the In-home service and stay away from the representative! read more

They changed things around over the last year and now there is a Sephora store right in the middle of J.C Penney. They have really good deals so it's worth a stop the next time I need a suit. read more

Have been refrigerator shopping for a few months, looking for a specific model for a great price. Was nearly at my wit's end when I had a phone conversation yesterday with Erica in the appliance department at JCPenney at Westfield Sarasota Square Mall. She was friendly, outgoing, and incredibly helpful. Her store did not have the model I want. BUT, she went so far out of her way as to contact other Penney's stores in a wide FL area to see if another location still had it. She delivered! She located the right fridge at the right price at the store in Clearwater! I told her when I spoke to her yesterday, even before she had located what I was looking for, that her customer service is excellent. I will be having a chat w/her manager and/or district manager to make sure they are aware of what a gem of an employee they have! Thanks a million Erica!! read more
