Madeline was our photographer and she did great I came here with my family, including my three month old baby and honestly, the photos turned out perfect. The only suggestion I would make is to bring your own props if you need to get a babies or animals attention, bring your own squeakers or whatever is best. Also be prepared. My son is seven and we practice him holding the baby weeks prior to taking photos. We scheduled the appointment during the time I knew my baby would be happy. Know that is the best to work on your posture as well. Sit up straight, chin down and be mindful of leg position. They will not point all of this out as they are not actual professional photographers. We've had our picture taken by professional photographers, and it's much more expensive so the price that you're paying is still worth it here. in terms of buying photos here it is very expensive so what I would suggest is getting the digital download and printing them somewhere else. Also for the digital download, I bought it online after the fact and was able to use two coupons which took $100 off so for my whole session, membership and photos it was $118. I got the session on Groupon for $13. My husband bought the membership for $40 and the digital photos were only $65 online. My husband got the membership because we are most likely going to come back and use them. It's all about being prepared at this place read more

I am extremely upset with my experience at JCPenney Portraits - Henderson, NV. I ordered a 16x10 canvas and an 8x10 photo from my daughter's 3-year-old birthday photoshoot on December 16, 2025. Only the canvas was delivered. The 8x10 was never received, and as of February 4, 2026, this still has not been resolved. I have contacted them multiple times, and they claimed the missing photo was resent THREE separate times. None of those replacement orders were ever delivered to my home. On top of that, when I try to call during the hours they say they are available, no one answers. The location is also too far for me to drive just to try to speak with a manager in person. This experience has been exhausting and unacceptable. At this point, my daughter's photo feels like it's floating around the city with no accountability, and no one at this location seems capable of tracking it down or fixing the problem. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication, follow-through, and basic customer service. I would not recommend this location based on my experience. read more

Let me just start by saying I hate leaving 1 star reviews. I really try to leave more positive reviews but I have nothing nice to say today. My husband and I just went on our honeymoon and we wanted to get family portraits done including our fur babies since all of our family photos are just Christmas photos (which were also taken at this location). We have a boxer and two cats. As soon as I walked in I was met with a woman who did not want to see me. I warned her in the very beginning that my boxer dog is a rescue and she is weary of new people. My boxer warmed up to the woman very quickly and I even commented on how impressed I was. I will admit one of my cats was very spicy but I was handling her and didn't expect anyone else to. So now we are at the last photo of the 5 of us and then I just wanted one of my boxer by herself. The woman told us how to pose and my husband had his arm under our boxers tummy and he was actively moving her into position when the woman came over and tried to MAN HANDLE our dog to put her in position herself! It is COMMON SENSE to not put both hands on a dog that is not yours and try to move them!! Well my girl got very overstimulated by this new person in her face and she jumped at her and nipped at the mask the lady was wearing. My husband and I of course immediately pull her back and the lady was terrified. She told me she was done and I had my husband take all 3 animals to the car. I told her that's why we tried to warn her IN THE VERY BEGINNING!!! I just don't understand why you would put your hands on a dog you don't know. My boxer was doing fantastic until the lady tried to handle her. And I never got that picture of my boxer by herself :( In the end my husband and I left very angry and dumbfounded. I can absolutely say this was the worst experience we ever had. I wish I got the lady's name but in the moment it was just so chaotic I forgot. She had short blonde hair and glasses. read more

Wish I read the reviews on this place before I took my kids here and wasted almost 200$ for 12 pictures 3 pictures you couldn't even see the faces only the clothing and hands. Took them for the mermaid pirate special because My kids love them and I thought it would be fun. It felt super rushed and although I was expecting more I was incredibly disappointed. When I called to say I can't believe I only got 12 pictures for that price when I was told I would get all the digital downloads plus the three photos that you can't even see the faces the girl told me they are supposed to tell a story that's why she included the randoms shots. Like what NO I paid to see pictures of my kids not the outfit in full zoom. I tried to call customer service and they took 30 minutes to answer only for the person to say their is nothing he could do and he barely spoke English. This was by far the worst photo shoot experience ever! Not sure if it's just this location or all JCPenney locations! Won't be back and highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. read more

We have appointment at 11 and I called the lady that we're going to be late for 5-10 mnt, she said is okay you can still come. We got there with my elderly parents and one of the girl told me that I have to re schedule another day. They don't appreciate someone else times. We book this appointment since last week. We went to make up artist and everything just waisted. Hopefully this review reaching one of the manager there and please give your employees proper training how to handle their customers. read more

Workers there don't communicate to the customers the eta for their session. We were 5mins late to our appt and we showed up and checked in. Granted we should've been punctual but traffic happens. We sat there for 4-5 hours after our scheduled appt and no one informed us that we will have to wait for ALL the appts (up to closing time) to go first and we will be last. Very unprofessional and careless. None of the workers let us know anything until we asked, no update no nothing. Don't come to this place, they're inconsiderate. read more

My family has been coming here for years for our biannual family portraits. They are great even with our large group of 16! They're patient and creative when it comes to the little ones, and they go along with it when we have crazy ideas like our maffia picture, lol. They're also really good with our pet photos (they've changed their policy recently- pet photos need to be 1st or last session of the day). And they're good with letting us take as long as we need in deciding which pics we want (& since the pics are being split into our 4 smaller families and then being sent out to corresponding grandmas & grandpas, this can take quite a while). And because we always have a club membership & coupons we always feel good about how much we're paying for it all :) read more
