Like most women, I wanted to do a maternity shoot during my pregnancy as that's all I knew of until I found Lisa's website. I saw her birthing photography/videography service and I was just so impressed and inspired. The clips that she had on her site gave me the feels. I reached out to her with some questions and she was a wonderful person to connect with. A few months later, I decided to go all in and invest in service. I wasn't sure what to expect but let's just say everything she has done has been way more than expected! During labor, I ended up in an emergency c-section because every time I had a contraction, my baby's heart rate couldn't be found or it dipped too low. Because of this, Lisa couldn't come into the OR even if I advocated for her to be there but she gave my bf her camera so that he can take pictures of what he could and he also captured audio of our baby boy crying when he finally entered the world! Since she wasn't able to get the whole birthing experience, she went an extra step and threw in Fresh 48 which ended up being taken about a month later as our son was in NICU. I was able to gather both my family and his family for an amazing photoshoot that probably would've never happened if she didn't offer this to us. The video she created with her shots and the stills was so amazing that it made me cry when I watched it and i watched it a lot! I will forever cherish this and am excited for others to see it especially my son when he is older. With the package, I also received a beautifully packaged printed photo album (card board thick and not photo paper) and a USB with all the media files. All in all, I am so happy that I went with Lisa. She is truly a talented and amazing person to work with. I think what sets her apart even more as a birthing photographer/videographer is that she was a labor nurse for 19 years so she KNOWS whats going on! I also appreciate her in that I was able to ask her some questions regarding my pregnancy in general because I didn't really have anyone to talk to as well as her telling me what's going on right before I was wheeled into the OR. I didn't even know I was going to have a c-section so I am thankful for her lol!! If you had to choose between a maternity shoot or the birthing photography/videography if you have a tight budget like me, I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest investing in the birthing photography/videography service. You get the whole room with different backdrops and lighting. They let you use their lighting equipment, and tripods. The area is a little sketchy, so I sat in my car until they opened up the door, lol. The only con was, I wish there was some kind of door, to our room, because there was someone waiting for the next spot, after ours sitting on the couch outside the room. I could see them as I walked back and forth to different spots to the room. I'll defiantly ask next time we do a shoot here. We also had someone walk through our photoshoot, looking for the restroom. She wasn't informed but their supposed to go around the building and come into the front door. So only a few mishaps, but other then that, we got great pictures!

Current Special- 39 Portraits for $9.99 for one pose- seems like a ton, but this includes micro pictures. At this price, it's very affordable, even on a tight budget. This rating is strictly for the value. At the time we got the special for a lower price; I think that it was raised a couple dollars sometime between when we had the pictures taken (November) and when we picked them up (two weeks later). We didn't get any additional poses or anything else, because this was the second portrait studio we went to, before the holidays. Fewer backgrounds as compared to JCP, smaller space, fewer seats- it's sort of "basic", is the best way to describe it; but it was clean. The photographer was nice and she tried to get our son's attention as best she could. The actual studio space is in the back, so there is some sort of privacy. It's a little block and there are way less props. I think the shaggy carpet (supposed to look like snow) was the only thing she used. We settled on a pose where he looks really pissed off plus he wasn't wearing any socks, because my husband thought it would be funny. You choose the pose right there. Few enhancements. There were photos on the walls for examples. We were the first appointment there and noone else was around (gave me the impression that it wasn't busy at all). You will get a call when the photos are ready. When you pick up the photos, there is a soft-sell approach with additional poses- no pressure environment. The pictures came out nice- the quality, though the background looked a little fake, it was lacking dimension, the bench in the picture looked flat. We soon ran out of pictures from the first session at JCP, so we were able to give out more pictures from this package. Like I said, the price was the best thing about the special here.
