I'm not sure how this store is still surviving in this shopping center. When I stopped by, there was almost no one in the entire store. I'd seen online that JCPenney carried a particular brand of an item that I'd debated buying without trying on (online). I decided to stop by and see that item "in person" before purchasing it. Plus, if the store had what I needed, it would save me shipping costs and wait time. There weren't many staff visible in the store, either. But I did find someone to put me in the right direction of the section of the store that I was seeking. I wandered around browsing the merchandise. At no time was anyone nearby to offer any help or to answer any questions. That turned out to be okay, as they had a similar brand, but not the ones that they claimed they carried in-store. And this other brand didn't have the features I desired. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy the items that I needed here. Again, this isn't a place that I normally shop. And I see that others don't either. I do have memories of this store being here way back when the mall was a different configuration within an enclosed set up. Came to JC Penny during the holidays to check some gifts off my list. This store is actually really nice. I don't do a lot of shopping in here, since the Penny,s close to me is a mess and I rather not deal with it. But those $10 off coupons are great. I was looking for Graphic tees for my brood. They actually had a lot of great ones. 2/$20 and the coupon. Needless to say I left with quite a few. After the tees, I went to check out the accessories area, and I was very impressed with the variety! Prices range from really cheap, to "Hell no, I'm not paying $55 for a costume jewelry necklace!!" really pretty stuff though. I also checked out Sephora, But I refrained from buying a gift card since you can only use them at the Sephora's inside a Penny's not the actual Sephora stores. The store was neat, and both cashiers I dealt with were nice. I didn't walk the whole store, but what I did see was organized, and I found what I was looking for without much issue. read more

Came here during tax free week to see if I could score some good deals. Every now and again JC Penney's will shock me and have some clothing that is perfect for that early 30 something who isn't trying to look too young or too old. This location had an amazing clearance section where I was able to score four shirts for $5.99 each and without any tax, even better! The store itself didn't seem that big. It felt like in a matter of no time I was back where I started which for my wallets sake was perfectly fine. The line, like always, is the biggest downfall of any JC Penney's. These stores make me realize why everyone shops online. There is no reason it should take someone so long to ring someone up on the register. They had two people working on register- one on the actual register and one person putting the clothing in the bag- really now? It takes two people to do this? No ma'am, it doesn't. I'll still say this place is okay only because the clothing selection was pretty great for a Penney's and it was well organized and stocked. I will never ever get on board for their customers. AVOID THE No Support Company. On 9/23/2023 ordered items online with plans to secure the items via curbside upon arrival. Upon arrival, I checked in as stated via the "order ready" email. After waiting for lengthy time, I decided to call the store for a status. After being unsuccessful to getting anyone to answer their business phone, I went inside for further assistance. Once inside there were no one available. Made a call to JCPenney customer service at (800) 322-1189. At this number a gentleman named "Emmanuel" answered, asked me my name; only to not provide support to a customer calling the "customer service" line of this company. Emmanuel directed me to callback in order to speak to someone else other than him. As a result, he placed the customer (me) on hold without notice and decided to not return. In addition, Emmanuel (JCPenney) customer service rep said there was nothing that could be done about my reasoning for the call - get some form of support due to the local store not answering calls and no one available. Emmanuel's handle of the customers issue was acceptable and is a huge deal breaker for any additional purchases. read more

This review is specific to the hair salon. I called to make an appointment with Paul today. The woman who answered the phone asked me when I wanted to come in. I told her I lived across the street, and could be there in 10 minutes. She told me he had nothing going on and to come in. LESS than 10 minutes later I walk in and a woman tells me his "client" just came in. He couldn't take me, and it was going to be a while. (She said, "a while" indicating his "client" would be getting more than a cut. ) There was no apology. Nothing. I guess they have so many clients they don't need any new ones. Infuriating. read more

The other day I ordered an area rug and to save a few bucks I set it to be picked up from my local JCPenney. i saved a couple dollars and I figured it would give me a chance to walk around JCPenney and relive the years gone by when I was much younger walking through the store looking for Christmas presents or what have you. When I got there and parked hustled on in the store. I had been before a few months back for something and felt like they were short people as I couldn't get any help that day. This day was even worse. From the beginning it was rough. The whole front of the store there was no one but a cashier that looked very over worked. she pointed me to the back for pickup. I went through many sections and didn't see anyone, just some other customers that looked lost. I made it to the back where a handful of employees were somewhat hiding out and chit chatting. after about a minute one decided to acknowledge me waiting and took my internet order receipt. he came back once and asked me what it looked like. A roll of carpet" said, a bit surprised and the inability to identify a roll of carpet in a order room. I left soon after with my order, a bit sadder at the condition of JCPenney. I'm happy they still exist, but I hope they turn around there customer service issues here. read more

When I was walking into JC penny's there was a specific shirt I needed and I needed a large. So I looked and I found a perfect extra large blue shirt on sale for 6 dollars, great so now all I need is a large version. Eventually I found one, we bring it up the the cashier to pay and it charged me the original price instead of the sale price. I thought it was a mistake so I told the cashier and she gave me an attitude and went in my face mockingly asking if she needed to call the manager to explain it too me. So I said no worries and just paid for the shirt itself. If I wasn't in desperate need of that shirt I definitely wouldn't have bought it due to that cashiers attitude and lack of respect. I would recommend trying another clothing store rather then walking in JC penny's. read more

We went here just before Christmas, to find a new pair of pajamas for my daughter. My first thought on walking in was that the place needed some real updating. It had the feeling of an older outlet store. In short, it felt dumpy. It's a much smaller store than most of the other Penny's. It didn't take long to find the lingerie dept. The problem was, I think the entire department was smaller than the bedroom in my house, and that isn't very big. I think I actually saw about 6 pairs of PJ, 3 of them being heavy fleece, which doesn't actually work for So. FL. I only briefly looked around the rest of the store as we went through, but didn't see anything worth a closer look. While it's more trouble to get in and out of the other malls, it's worth the effort. read more

WORST JCPENNEY STORE IN THE AREA! I have had the displeasure to recently visit this store twice within the past month. Each time worse than the other. I spent more time waiting in line to pay for my purchases than I did picking them out. Sales associates are rude, lazy, unhelpful, and incompetent. Long lines despite not being busy while sales associates walk around doing nothing. Telling customers to find coupons on their phones at the register while others are waiting is unacceptable protocol. AVOID THIS STORE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!! I went into JC Penney on a Sunday almost at closing time. I felt bad, but it was an emergency because my window a/c just went out....they had one on sale I wanted....and I had a gift card to use. The management could not have been nicer. They moved the heavy box to the register for me, notified me of a 15% discount on appliances, and then even wheeled it out and loaded it in my car. I really love shopping at jcpenney i always find something here having said this i do live very close to the pompano store in pompano beach fl so i do tend to go here more ... This is unfortunately a smaller store but years ago this store was huge and it was a two story store which i loved..don't understand why when this mall was renovated they made jcpenney so small and took out the 2nd floor....big mistake in doing this.... Now I know why I never shop in this store! Walked the whole store floor looking for someone to help me and there was no one to be found. I made the mistake of thinking that it would be just as easy for me to physically go into the store instead of ordering on line. BIG MISTAKE! I had a previous experience with an employee that works in the back where you pick up on-line orders. Her name is J. Lettini I remembered that she was very helpful (the only one) and pleasant, so I sought her out after 20min of looking for someone to help me. Fortunately for me, she was there. I waited for her to finish ringing up a lady just so I could ask her where I could find an item I was looking for. In the meantime... the manager is right behind her with no interest in helping me or anyone else. I finally got my turn with J. Lettini. She jumped on it and helped me to find what I was looking for. Oh, did I mention the store was a disaster! And the cashiers that where there, where in no hurry to check customer out. Almost as if it hurt them if they worked any faster than turtle speed. I also tried calling corporate to give J. Lettini recognition and after waiting 15 minutes to talk to someone. They hung up on me. I'm telling you...this store can not stay opened for too much longer. If you don't want the headaches, stay away from this store! read more
