No wonder JCPenney's is going out of business They have the worst customer service I ever experienced. Had a billing issue on a PRE-SALE order being charged to my credit card before the purchase date in order to get this item at a Huge discount price. Not a problem that they ran my credit card early BUT the problem WAS No receipt. Item was put back into stock. No record of transaction I called Penney's credit card company while in the store, being informed the sale transaction was posted 5 days earlier, and not ran as a pending presale. Arguing how my credit card was not charged. It was only pending. Bottom line for these 2 people who represent JC Penney, they both majorly failed at doing their job. Mainly they both lacked in customer service department, and failed to remember without customers they would have no jobs. It costs more than a Penney to shop here, so false advertising FTW. This JC Penney is located as part of a huge strip-type Mall at New Braunfels between San Antonio and Austin right off of the highway on the east side of the interstate 35 so come and check it out if you're looking for a department store when you're down this way. It's not bad. But when people say Strip Mall I still think of Strippers, always have, always will. No wonder I date Barbie. read more

Beautiful store, spotlessly clean, stylish and organized beyond belief. It seemed far more like I'd walked into Nordstrom than JCP. But narrow shopping aisles in the men's clothing section, low inventory levels, and nothing I needed with an sale price or even a decent BOGO incentive to buy multiples? No thanks. I'll just stick to the Barton Creek store in Austin and suffer a little more clutter while I save a lot more dollars. read more

I ordered two different pkgs. for two different families. They came quickly . I received an email for one pkg. And went in to pick it up. It was fast , easy and the cashier who was new was so friendly and helpful. I then checked on the second pkg . which I had not received an email for , yet. I had them check on that one as well. Somehow I forget this place exists but luckily I always find something. I love that they sell Lancôme products which means I don't have to drive to San Antonio for great make up. I took my 15 year old swimsuit shipping and was impressed with how quickly she found something that fit but also how organized all the suits were considering the many that they offered. The prices were very reasonable too. In fact she always finds things in the junior's section! Shoes are my favorite department and the people there are always helpful. Prices again are affordable. Husband loves the variety of brands offered and their women's selection can be overwhelming but many things to choose from. They often have sales and I have seen many great coupons come in the mail so take advantage of that. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First of all, I had questions about an item and when I went to ask a cashier they said they needed to get someone named Terry. Well, I waited and waited and waited and after about ten minutes I asked again where they were. They replied that they were sorry, he does it all the time and they tried getting him again to no avail. By that point, I was so mad I just left the store. I don't know who Terry is but they should be fired, some of the most unprofessional things I've ever had to deal with. read more

I placed an order online and have it shipped to the store for pickup. I went in to pick up my order about 10 minutes after the store had opened. The lights are still off in the store. I went to the counter to pick up my items and there was a lady standing there looking at a piece of paper. I greeted her by saying good morning. It took her a couple of seconds to respond back to me. She never made eye contact her eyes stayed planted on the paper she was holding. I told her that I was there to pick up an item that was shipped to store. She continued to stare at her paper and then she looked up at me and said okay. When she turned around I noticed that her name tag had a manager on it. She then got on the radio and told some guy that he needed to send one of his people over to the pick-up area to work or he could come and work it himself if he didn't have someone to send over. She then took my information and started looking for my orders she walked to the back got my orders and came back up front she ripped open both of my bags pulled out my items and left them on the counter. I'm not sure if she was having a rough morning or not but she was not very friendly at all. I don't think I will be shopping from the store in the future nor will I be ordering online and having anything shipped to the store. I'm giving two stars because there were two other workers that did eventually come to the back and I was greeted by both of them asking have I been helped or if I needed anything they could assist me. read more

Rude customer service especially around the holiday season, slow and very bad service by the cashiers. They didn't even know how to give me my change back when all I needed was a $1.36 and made me almost wait 20mins in line and then another 15 at the register I just told her to keep the change. Most of the prices listed in the Black Friday ads are not your take home price. They require you to mail in a rebate, then wait to get your money back. Does it say that in the ad? Not where I noticed it. I'm disappointed in JCP's Black Friday. Feels like a bait and switch. read more

JCPenney photo studio,absolutely ridiculous today. I have been a loyal customer for the past 5 years and when i have made an online appointment in the past I've always been seen at that time. Today was not the case, over 45 minutes past my scheduled time and i was ask to wait even longer. The original employee that checked me in told me they were finishing a family up and then there was one person in front of me. I said no problem, 45 Mins later i stood up to with my family to take our pictures, and they said no we still have one more in front of you. Why book online if your going to add walk ins and run so far behind. I completely understand why so many jcp stores our closing. Because there were still another 4 families behind me. A complete disaster i will be taking my money somewhere else. read more

This store is awful. I pop in every once in a while. The large sizes for young women is basically non existent. Finding a salesclerk to help you is like Where's Waldo. I guess I will take JC Penney off of my list of places to shop. read more

first time in this store, & it was awesome! I was very very impressed with this store! super nice things and great prices! I will definitely be back - I use to drive to the outlets for office work clothes- but this store had a good selection! one thing I WILL comment on- as I was walking down an isle on December 20, 2015 right after lunch time, I heard an older caucasian saleswoman with short reddish hair tell a young (teens) African American salesgirl with semi short hair 'see how this is all messed up? it needs to be organized sweetie' I looked over to see what was messed up - she was talking about a clothes rack - and as I did, the salesgirl turned her nose up to the saleswoman, turned AWAY from her, and walk away - to no where! she walked across the isle I was on, then back to the middle and just stormed off down the isle towards the back of the store!!! SOOOO very disrespectful! I looked at the saleswoman, and she just kept sorting the clothes rack. I actually almost blurted out 'WOW' to make it a point to that childish kid how disrespectful she was being and so that the saleswoman would know that customers can see how their employees are acting!! Bought about $200 worth of items from this location on the day before Black Friday. Some of the items I bought did not fit family members so I had to return without a receipt which was fine except for the fact that the cashier clearly did not know what she was doing. She returned the items and told me the refund would go to my credit card even though it was supposed to be a cash refund. I told her that it didn't seem right to me and asked if there was anything else I could do. She rudely replied "no". One week later still no refund so I go back to fix the issue, spoke with the absolute rudest theft prevention lady ever. She claimed at first that she saw the cashier hand my boyfriend cash and argues with me when I told her there was no refund given. 20 minutes later she comes back saying "wrong person, oops!" Which was SO UNPROFESSIONAL because at this point I had been accused of trying to steal money and do a double refund. Apparently the fact that I was wearing glasses at the time of return and not wearing glasses upon going back to fix the return is what caused the issue. But why did I have to be harassed for 20 minutes? Not to mention another staff member asked "who's next!" While my boyfriend and I were waiting for the theft prevention women to go back and basically said get lost without showing any sympathy for the ridiculous situation, like was I garbage?. I quite frankly am disgusted with this location and will not be shopping there ever again. read more
