This review is about Gail L who was working in the Beauty Departmart on Saturday, March 27, 2026. I was sure my purse was stolen from this store and I was assured from security who reviewed the camera that it possibly was stolen. It was Gail who helped me the entire time of this ordeal, including after the police had arrived and the store manager had gotten involved, of which neither was any help. It was Gail who allowed me to use the store's phone to cancel my credit cards. Gail who called & texted my daughter from her cell hoping my daughter would respond. She did and Gail saved the day. She never left me stranded as the police & store manager did. Gail is an excellent employee; you should be manager because you know how to treat customers in all ways necessary. Thank you so much! I am writing about a complaint on one of your employees from this past Saturday Nov 9 around 12 /1 o'clock at the Myrtle Beach location. I went to the store shopping for dress clothes and was really excited to see that you were having the an early black Friday sale after 45 minutes of shopping and trying on clothes, I decided on one piece of clothing and decided I was gonna come back later next week to purchase more clothes. however when I got to the register there were three cashiers one was a white guy on the left, one was an Asian woman in the middle and I don't really know who is on the right hand side. I walked up to the register to the Asian lady and she greeted me very friendly and I was very friendly back and she rang up my shirt that was on sale according to your sale signs and told me it was $43 I told her I thought it was on sale and she stated that if I had signed up for a credit card it would be $14. Now keep in mind. She didn't not even ask me if I had account with you guys or credit card. I didn't think anything of it, but I refuse the purchase due to the fact that I'm not paying $43 when there were multiple things on sale and I could've sworn this top was on sale. so I declined the purchase and I after coming home I started thinking about it. She was asking people in front of me if they had a credit card but she never asked me that and then I went onto your website and see the shirt was on sale and doesn't say anything about having a credit card to use or have credit card. Perhaps you should speak with your associate about policy because I feel like this was kind a scam to get me a sign up for a card however she did not know if I had a JCPenney card or not because she never asked.... Attached is a photo of the shirt that was similar that I was interested in purchasing but in black. I feel like I will take my business elsewhere to Belks, Dillards, Kohl's, other than JCPenney's because I feel like this was just a scam to get me to sign up for a card even though again, she never asked if I had a card and ur signage did not state that the discount price was tied into having to sign up for a card . JcPenney is ok. I only give it 4 stars because Sephora is inside. The clothes aren't expensive and the quality is good. It's definitely packed with clothes and there's little room between racks. They try to stuff as much stuff into every inch as possible. You can definitely find some gems if you have time to rummage through the racks. They advertise a lot of "Saturday Door Busters" for early birds. I've never been for one but they are supposed to be when you can get even better deals. read more

Absolute worst experience ever. Received a spiral hair perm that completely fell out in less than 2 weeks. Come to find out the stylist had not done a hair perm since she was in beauty school - 17 years ago - nope not one, mine was the first. Honestly, I could get over that if they would have fixed it, but not even close. The Salon Manager Wendy was absolutely rude would not do anything, then spoke to the GM (in person) who would not hear anything I had to say just that the Salon Manager already told me they were not going to do anything. Today I was going to file a complaint with the State Board of Cosmetology but needed the last name of the sylist and manager. I called the Salon and spoke with Salon Manager Wendy who hung up on me when I asked for the Stylist last name! Wow - that is some customer service! Know if you go here and have a problem - that is the service you will get! read more

Hi I would love for someone to know my experience I've had /having at the Jcpenneys salon.. First of all I use to use the Murrells Inlet Jcpenneys salon until one day some one for no Reason was extremely rude to me and it made it very uncomfortable for me , I've been going to that salon since I was 15 I never had the expreirince I had with someone that I don't even know . I'm a huge fan of Mistys but due to the rudeness of a co worker I don't want to feel negative vibes leaving a salon my time there should be enjoyable.. Ok here's the best part I decided to drive to coastal grand jcpennys .. I was greeted with happiness friendly staff upbeat the vide felt great , then a sweet beuatiful lady name Kim did my hair for the very first time I am hooked she's wonderful great friendly she made my hair ROCK .. Can you believe that? I got rocking hair. I travel alot for work in and out the USA so no matter what I always go see Kim now. She's not my full time stylist yet due to me traveling but I see her at least 3 times a month. If you ever want a great salon with amazing up beat attitudes please visit this salon it's so worth it, And yes I would like you to try out my fav gurl Kim. Just got my hair done at the salon here A few days back. I have came to this location to get my hair done at least two other times. It is not looking any better after a couple of days. The gentleman at the salon turned my roots orange. It may not be completely his fault. The salon normally keeps records. But I spent three hours in the salon. He said it is best to find one "hair doctor that knows yours hair" however the point is that my hair is quite simple I have been having it done the same way for over a year now. Nobody else in the store completely messed up my hair and made it orange based off records of color. Not only that but the experience was not fun at all. Normally women go to the salon to relax and because it feels nice. This gentleman kept hitting me in the head with his dryer comb until I proceeded to kindly ask him to stop because it hurt. On top of I could feel him ripping out my hair as he combed through it. After 100 and something dollars he then proceeds to say if I come back he will fix it for me next time. Like NO!! Just hung up the phone on the clerk in the window treatment department named - Deb. I called to see if I could return drapes I purchased 3 days ago because they were too short. The pair was supposed to be 50" x 84" according to packaging and the tag sewn on each panel. Both panels are 82" end to end. She then proceeded to ask me if they were grommet drapes and I said "yes". She then insulted me by saying the 84" is not from the grommet to the bottom. I then told her I realized that and I measured from fabric end to end and neither panel was 84". Then she asked if I had washed them(which I hadn't). Treated me like I wanted to return damaged goods when they were crap from the factory being too short. I have purchased custom drapes and sheers from J C Penney before, but will NOT be returning that department ever. read more
