I'm not a huge JCPenney fan, I mostly shop at their locations because they have a petites section with business casual clothes for work. I stopped by Friday to replace some worn work clothing and was really surprised by this location! They have a much larger, and better, selection than the one in Denton... hell, better than all the other locations I've been to. This store is also immaculate! It was practically sparkling in there and the sales floor was clean and organized. Most of these locations are a disaster area, but the only area I saw that was a little messy was the dressing rooms (clothes hadn't been cleared out yet). This one is also very large, I wandered through the women's clothing, shoes and accessories and as far as I could tell that was less than a third of the store. I was there about an hour, which is a lot more than I ever want to spend in one of these locations, but due to the size and calmer, more pleasant atmosphere, it wasn't much of a sacrifice. The thing I loved the most was the petites section, it was 2/3 larger than at other stores and in that section, they had plenty of all the sizes! Do you know how rare that is for us short girls? I spent a lot of time going through their different business casual work pants and noticed they had lots of colors and sizes in both their curvy fit (that's my jam!) and modern fit but not a ton of classic fit (maybe that's the most popular?). I saw at least 3 of each size on each rack I perused through. They had a decent selection of button up business casual shirts as well and I saw a ton of dressy clothing too. They also have my size in Clarks shoes which is nice because a lot of locations only carry 7 and up. That wasn't what I was there to get, but I filed that information away for later and saw a ton of purses and scarves I may want to check out on a future visit. I was so impressed that I was leaving with what I needed, instead of settling for 1 or 2 items close to what I needed. I'm definitely going to bring my husband, next time we're in the area, to see their long and tall selection! The only thing I found annoying, though understandable, is that the tags and sales signs didn't match. After 20 minutes of wandering around I realized I had no idea what I was holding since I knew the tags on the product weren't right. Realistically, with their sales, there are too many items to individually mark down tags, and signs per rack are easier to execute. However, if you are grabbing more than a couple of items, you'll have no idea if you are about to go over your budget. The very nice girl at the cashier patiently price checked things for me and I ended up leaving with 3 sets of work clothes and a few casual tops. She was so friendly and gave great service. You get 20% off for having a store card so that was 2 extra shirts right there! Staffing seemed small. I wasn't looking for someone for help, I prefer to be left alone and make my own decisions when shopping because I don't find it a super pleasant experience. I only noticed people at the cashiers and in the dressing rooms, but I was only in a particular section of the store. I noticed this location had a salon, but I'm not sure where it was located, perhaps on the other side of the main entrance. After this first visit, I'm definitely interested in checking out more of the store. This particular JCPenney has a fan forming in me with their generous selection and great prices. I would recommend checking out this location in Flower Mound, as opposed to a mall location in any of the surrounding cities. read more

I attempted to return a pair of pants to JCPenney with the original receipt after purchasing them via tap to pay. The cashier refused the return because I did not have the physical card present and would not offer any alternative solution besides store credit. What frustrated me most was not the system limitation itself, but how the situation was handled. The cashier was dismissive from the start, did not acknowledge the inconvenience, and argued with me when I asked to escalate the issue, insisting that a manager "wouldn't be able to do anything either." When I clarified that I was not trying to be rude, she argued that I actually was being rude. I responded that the comment was unnecessary. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it despite other employees visibly wearing name tags. When the manager arrived, the interaction did not improve. The cashier continued focusing on arguing that I was rude rather than resolving the issue, and the manager made little effort to de escalate the situation or offer any meaningful solution besides store credit, which I declined because I rarely shop at JCPenney. When I said I would likely need to dispute the charge with my credit card company, the manager essentially agreed that was my only option. I ultimately left the item at the store. I have worked in customer service myself, and I understand employees deal with frustrated customers every day. But acknowledging frustration, remaining professional, and attempting to find solutions are basic parts of customer service, especially when the customer is not yelling, cursing, or being disrespectful. Both employees could benefit from additional training on handling customer complaints professionally. read more

I went to JC Penny in Flower Mound Tx, to return 2 pair of Levi's that smelled like mildew. I washed one pair to see if the smell would go away, but it didn't. The manager, Cynthia Westbrook told me she would not return the pair that I washed because she could not put them back on the sales floor. I told her she needed to damage them out because they stink! She refused to smell them and said no. I repeated again, they stink and no one needs to purchase them, they are damaged. Finally, she said she will return them this time but never again! I told her, don't worry because I will never purchase anything in this store ever again, especially since the jeans I bought stunk so bad. I was so disappointed and embarrassed. read more

Shopping at brick and mortar stores is tough enough due to the crowds at the checkout line. Stores do not need to make it tougher due to inadequate training of its employees. As a result of purchasing a $100 gift card last week, I was given a $25 coupon. There were many restrictions on the coupon, such as, brand exclusion. On the top of the coupon, it boldly stated I had to purchase $25 or more of merchandise to use the coupon. This evening, the cashier misread the section which stated the coupon is for purchasing $100 gift card. As such, I was told I needed to purchase $100 worth of merchandise. I asked her where it stated that. Rather than admit being wrong, she had the POS decide whether the coupon was eligible. Guess what? It allowed me to use the coupon. Do I get a apology or a thank you for shopping? Nope. read more

I ordered a bed from JC Penney's online on November 24, 2022 order # 2022328313466387. I specified and paid for deluxe delivery, indicating that the delivery agents would unpack, assemble, inspect, touch up and rewrap item prior to delivery. Agents would then deliver item to the room of choice and remove all packaging materials. Instead they showed up a month late, on January 3, 2023 without calling first and just dumped the parts in my bedroom. They are a third-party carrier. JC Penney's said they would have someone call me in a few days for assembly and gave me a reference number of 20230103482966. I am 68 years old and there is no way I can assemble this bed myself. read more

I ordered three shirts. They were delivered to my old address. After waiting on the phone for over an hour for customer service, the gentleman said there was nothing he could do. So I'm out $80.00 and have no merchandise. I called again and finally got a supervisor. After pleading with "Tim" he said all he could do was try and retrieve the package, however, instead of sending the retrieval to my old address (where the package was delivered to) he sent it to my new address! These people are absolutely terrible! I will not shop at a store that makes obvious mistakes and does nothing to correct them. Don't shop at JCPenney is my only advice. Your typical JC Penney except the Sephora is right in the front of the store! You don't have to tempt yourself with all the clothing when all you want is the makeup. It's a very clean store. We weren't greeted by anyone but that's okay. I was just in to look. Bummed that the Sephora shop didn't have what I wanted. But I'd come back as they sometimes have makeup exclusives that aren't available at Ulta. read more

Love JCPenney in general but this store is the best! Awesome customer service and sales. The inventory is great too. I have found some of my favorite wardrobe pieces there, as well as jewelry. The Sephora Inside JCPenney is also fantastic. I worked there for the Christmas season a few years ago and can attest from the inside that the associates are equipped with service skills and product knowledge. I am not impressed with the new pricing system. The signs are confusing such as $5 and up. Then when I looked for the $5 items there was anything on the shelf for that price. The store is clean and organized. It looks much better than most JCP. The staff in the photo dept are very friendly and knowledgable about their services. Returns are fairly easy even without a seat. This store has limited boys clothing and a great mens section. Throughout the store the service is lacking. The sales associates on the floor do not offer to assist in any way. I walked the entire store and not one associate spoke to me. When I questioned an associate she appeared a little bothered by my question and told me I could always order online. She did not offer to help me place an online order. This is truly disappointing because this is such a nice store but the service other than the photo dept stinks. read more

I went to this JCP location after going online to order a specific style and size of Levis. The online site allows you to check for availability at your local JPC stoer! how cool is that!?! it would be, if it was true. i found a few of the jeans in the style I wnted, and none in the size i needed. The clerk went in the back to check, and said, there weren't any in the back. I said the Online site said the Vista Ridge mall had some, and she offered to call them for me. i am so glad she did, becasue they didn't have them either. She then told me that the Flower mound JCP has a paltry selection compared to the Vista Ridge store. good to know. read more

Don't get me wrong, I like JcPenny's but I can never find an associate around. It almost seems like they avoid me. Whenever I do find one though they don't put much effort into helping me. The store is nicer than other JCPenneys. It's newer and there are very few customers. I think so few people go there because of the never ending construction on FM407. I couldn't get an appointment at my regular salon, so I went to this store with no appointment and I was one of only three people in a huge new salon. I keep going back because the ladies there have many years of experience and do a great job for about half the price of another salon in Flower Mound. Right next to the salon is a portrait studio with no customers. I don't like JCPenney merchandise much but I recommend this salon. read more

The people here have been very helpful, but I am especially grateful for the managers and a sales associate who said she is also a 6th grade math teacher. They have been above and beyond helpful!
