Looking for photo shoot outfit. They had a nice selection here but no sizes in the suit jackets he liked. But we had fun trying on the different looks. Found a long sleeved shirt that he liked - smooth and cool. It felt good on his skin so he chose it. Also a good navy colored suit jacket. He paired it with a vest. All on sale so that helped. He also tried on watches in the jewelry section and Clarita was helpful. She made suggestions and brought out different styles he liked. No pressure selling so that was awesome. He couldn't make up his mind and she encouraged him to think about it. Hadn't been here in a while and it was cool to see the Sephora store inside. The cashier rang up our purchases and then ordered the suit jacket in the correct size for us. However, I don't think she put in my rewards number for the order. That was unfortunate. That took down the rating I'm giving. The restroom was clean and parking plentiful so it's a good place to shop. Prices were affordable depending on the brand you select. read more

I swear it's really hard to get any assistance at this location. There are never any sales people at the jewelry/cosmetic counters and if there are they never seem to want to help. Moved here recently. Needed to buy a Mother's Day gift. The lady I checked out with scanned my items and then scanned a barcode on her stand. She said oh I can save a lot if I get the card. Specifically said, the card. I said like a membership? She said yes. So I said is it free? She said yes. So I was like ok. Sign me up. Not until she was finished did she hand me the CREDIT card info I unknowingly signed up for. I do not want and did not want a CREDIT card. So now I'm stuck with it. I am already paying off one. Not everyone is aware of how these things work (a younger person like me who has only had one credit card.) and it feels sneaky af to do this. The employees need to be able to say exactly what it is and not just a card. No I will not be in again to buy anything else. I will repay what I bought and cancel it. I will not be coming back again even after I cancel it. read more

When your fiancé is in need of some new dress pants due to a rather unfortunate iron incident (that you had nothing to do with) you find yourself at JCPenney. PROs: ++ The cashier was nice. ++ They had a few different options at each price point and some additional sales on top of that! I sure do love a good deal! CONs: -- The store was a complete mess during our visit. I'm not sure if they just didn't have the staff to go through and fold the displays or if they had an unexpected rush, but it was rough. -- The layout of the store was a bit confusing. We had a harder than expected time trying to find the men's novelty tees. -- There weren't enough cashiers working. Eh, while I have shopped here in the past I must say I wasn't that impressed during our visit. I'm sure I'll make my way back, but this JCPenney won't be my first choice. read more

This 2 star review is just for the salon. I actually like the store itself, but I was really unhappy with my experience at the salon. The only pro is that it was easy to call and set up an appointment for the specific time I needed. I was encouraged by this and looking forward to my visit. When I walked in, the lady at the front desk (her tag said manager) was counting money. She didn't acknowledge me for a couple minutes, and then when she was done said "sorry about that." But instead of greeting me and checking me on, she ignored me and started chatting with the other stylists. She did greet a lady that came in right after me though. It felt so weird to be ignored. It was only when another employee came in for her shift that she greeted me and checked me in. Off to a bad start. My stylist was nice enough but it was the worst cut and highlight I've ever had. I asked for a partial and she did the skimpiest partial ever. I understand I'm not paying for the whole head but everywhere else I've had a partial, they do at least twice what she did. She then left toner on my hair for wayyyy too long, leaving me with a dishwater color (I can't even call it blonde). She also ignored my request for a trim and leaving the existing long layers as is. She cut off so much and gave me a face frame similar to the Rachel from Friends of the mid 90s. I hated it and still hate it over a month later. On top of that, she told me my hair was full of "wax" from not using expensive shampoo and tried to sell me their salon shampoo twice. I call BS on all that. I was hopeful this would be my new salon since my old one in Southlands closed, but i will not be returning. read more

I have to admit, I like JC Penney for certain things. Need a cheap jacket or basic suit? This is the place to go. I also like their Ana brand for more trendy items. However, I don't find that they have a long wear life. This one in Southlands is nice, clean, bright and open. They have great sales and nice sales people. I like it mainly because it is not in a traditional mall so it is easy to get in and out of - which is always a benefit! read more

Amazing service! They check you out quickly and care about what you are purchasing. I am very picky when it comes to clothes; but buying four shirts was and achievement. Can get a little pricy and messy. The fitting rooms should be a little cleaner and updated. That day, shorts were on sale. I absolutely love JCPenney, I love the good deals and the variety! They only get 2 stars from me though because recently a little black diamond fell out of a promise ring I received 3 years ago, and the ring itself was worth $100. Had it sent in to just see how much it would cost to replace the TINIEST little thing and it was $86. Super disappointed that it would cost so much to replace. I'll be going elsewhere to fix this, and will not recommend anyone buying anything from the jewelers side. I loved my promise ring. I don't know why it'd cost 86% of what the ring is worth haha. read more

I called corporate customer service at 1.800.322.1189 and asked them to cancel an internet order. They tried to contact the store and "surprise" no answer. This has happened to me countless times. Seriously, you have voicemail set up to leave a message? The only way I can do this is to go to the store in person. How hard is it to cancel an order and credit my Penney's card. read more

Customer service is horrible. Went to Sephora inside and waited at the cashier for 10 minutes before someone came up and checked me out. There were at least 3 people working in the Sephora. Only one person was helping someone else. Not sure what the other two were doing. Go up to the regular cashier stand and bunch of employees just hanging out talking not working. The lady who was helping us argued with us about the price of a shirt and wanted us to walk back with her to look at it. We just said nvm and gave them the shirt and didn't buy anything. read more

Horrible Salon, I went in for caramelizing I was specific with the stylist and confirmed she could do the coloring correctly, she said yes after 5 hours in the chairs the highlits were a horrible orange color and did not highlight the hair from root to tip. (looked blotchy) I called and spoke with the Manager William who was of no help at all and gave the phnoe to the tech that colored my hair. She rescheduled me to come in at redo it. I go go back again 4+ hours in the chair and my hair was even worse, I walked out of there in tears. After $115 and 10+ hours I refuse to go in anther day to have her try to correct the color in my hair. Do not waste your time or Money at this SALON RUN!!!!! read more

We stopped in here this last weekend. I needed to get some new jeans. I was hoping for some Levis, as they just fit me well. I'm not about to go out and buy some $80-100++ designer jeans. Always a good selection of Big & Tall men's clothing. Hard to find shirts that say "Tall" and are actually more than 1" longer than normal. JCP shirts are easily 3-5" longer than most! Great deals in store and if you add your phone number they will send you a lot of texts with huge discounts! read more

My review is not for the store itself, rather the salon. Most people do not know they have a salon - I didn't either until I went in one day for portraits. The first time I called to set up an appointment, Rebekah answered and so my appointment was made with her. I am so glad it was her! She is absolutely awesome. I love going in every 3 months and being able to not only get a beautiful new do - but have some great conversation. This salon is awesome! The ad in the newspaper wasn't clear so I called to get clarification. Needed to talk to Optical Department. Hit #4 to speak to customer service. No one answered. Called back and got a different department and she connected me to optical. Optical was busy and is calling me back. JC Penney has laid off a lot of people. They don't offer the deals they used to. They have gotten rid of most of the good brands of clothes. There is hardly any signage. Bottom line, corporate has totally screwed up the store. That is very sad for me because I have always loved and shopped Penneys my whole life. Now I only go to the optical because of the deals they have. And it's a hassle to even get through to them. I purchased a shark vacuum cleaner and it stopped working within a year. The manager at the Southlands store said they only have a 90 day return policy. Thank goodness I am only out $125 for a vacuum and not $2000 for a refrigerator. I suppose if you are purchasing clothes JCPenney is fine but otherwise I wouldn't risk the money on purchasing from this company. All of our drapes are from JCP. They are really well-made, the colors stay true, the sale prices are really good. I found some on clearance that I really liked, but they didn't have enough so they ordered them. Barbara, in the drapery dept, is super helpful and knows EVERYTHING about the products. The order came in and one of them was wrong (from the warehouse) and Barbara called and had another one sent to my house for free since it was a JCP warehouse mistake. She didn't have to do that, but she did and I was happy. The Southlands store is small but I like it a lot more than the one in Park Meadows. If you need drapes/curtains/window stuff, go find Barbara at the Southlands store. read more

My little one adored working with her, which made the smiles and giggles come naturally and beautifully. Chrissie's ideas for backgrounds, props, and poses were spot on, and the final product was beautiful. I will absolutely return, and request to work with Chrissie. I got a Groupon for this location and thought it was such a great deal to get a CD and 3 sheets for $25. We were going to use the photos all for my newborn and I totally regret going to this location. It wasn't horrible, but close enough. They have 1 studio and totally over booked the day we decided to go, which was mid-week. We had an appointment & had to wait another hour, with a newborn that's not easy, so when we finally were in the studio we felt totally rushed being that there were 3 families behind us and practically stared at us until our session was over. The worst part was the studios camera was malfunctioning! We would finally get our newborn to smile and she'd snap about 3 pictures then go to her computer and say she didn't get any of them because her cord to her camera was loose & they're waiting on a new cord from another store! It was such an annoying trip to see them & honestly wasn't worth the $25! read more

Horrible customer service at this Aurora store. You need to beware of ordering merchandise in their stores or you may wind up getting the wrong item. Furthermore, They'll claim you paid with a gift card when you actually paid with cash. I'm out $30 and was only offered a gift card; no refund. I'm pissed!!! The pants I ordered are still there at the customer service desk along with the gift card I refused to accept. So, if you need to order merchandise they don't have in stock, don't order it from this store or just go online. The clerks will make it worse. read more

I couldn't find JCP portraits for Southlands, so I am writing it here. I love JCP! But I did not have the best of luck at the portrait studio. I felt rushed the entire session and when I asked to come back later for a reshoot, I was told I could but she (the photographer) told me she wanted to go home early. So right then I was like uh ok. I scheduled to come back that evening but right after I left, I got a call saying that the slot I scheduled couldn't be filled. I don't understand why I wasn't able to come in when the studio says "walk-ins welcome." Oh well! I already didn't want to go back because I felt like I would just be rushed. The photographer I had wasn't that good either. I felt she didn't have an eye for photography. Wanting to do my pictures later that day, I called Park Meadows JCP portraits and they booked me right away! I showed up an hour later to have my pictures done and was not rushed. I'm not sure when I'm going to learn my lesson and not go to this store! They love to treat me like I'm an imbecile, and claudia the clerk thinks she can talk to me any way she wants. I went to pick up my purchase that I made last Friday, and I had noted that I did not receive the online/in-store discount which I decided we would address when I went back in. She told me, "I've never heard of that." I told the dimwit that it was on the stores website and I offered to show it to her; she said no. Called the 'slow' manager rebecca and she comes and tries to explain that I'm not going to "see the discount on your receipt because Tom did something special in the system..." What? What does that even mean. I told her never mind that I would return the purchase, then I thought better of it because I'm the customer and I'm not stupid.The slow manager, rebecca had left at this point and I told the claudia to call the manager back and she started telling me that I'm rude - NO, she was rude when she insinuated that I was lying because she didn't know about the online/in-store purchase discount. When rebecca gets back, she starts trying to explain her 'invisible discount' theory again; I told her that we were going to do what the customer, me, wanted and I asked that they have Tom the store manager call me, but I doubt that that will happen. I will take this purchase back if I don't hear from him. I said thank you and walked away; slow manager's yelling after me, " You have a good night!" like she didn't have good common sense. read more

I made an online purchase; order arrived. One of the shirts I had purchased was a, Liz Claiborne® Cap-Sleeve Popover Shirt. I loved it, however, the button on the front, mid-way down the front, was faulty. I wore it twice, the second time I thought I had fixed the issue, however, I looked down and saw that it was open, yet again. I took it back to JCPenney to return. The sales person asked if I wanted to order a new one, I said yes because I liked it so much. My order came in approximately 1 1/2 weeks, it was a patterned shirt, same style. It was not a solid, teal colored shirt like the first one, so we sent it back. Two weeks later, my order arrived again; same issue, patterned shirt, not what I ordered. We attempted to re-order again, could not because it was out of stock. I made repeated trips, to pick up the WRONG order. The shirt is on clearance, and I can not get it because it's out of stock. Instead of being informed, and the order not being placed, the warehouse just repeatedly sent the item they had, thinking I would 'settle' for it. I'm really disappointed in JCPenny's business ethic. read more
