On the evening of our visit, I was dining with my daughter, her boyfriend, and my grandchildren. The situation began when the children did not like the juice they were served and politely asked if they could have something different. Instead of handling the request professionally, the owners became immediately rude and aggressive. We were told that no changes could be made. A female owner/employee approached our table speaking in an aggressive and confrontational manner. When concerns were raised about the way she was speaking to customers, she stated that she was "from Brooklyn" and that was simply how she talks. Regardless of where someone is from, speaking aggressively and disrespectfully to paying customers -- especially in front of children -- is completely inappropriate. The situation escalated when words were exchanged between my daughter and the female owner/employee. My daughter then left the establishment to avoid further conflict. Shortly afterward, a male owner/employee pulled out a gun during the altercation. At that moment, my grandchildren became terrified and started crying. We immediately contacted the police because we feared for our safety. Before realizing the seriousness of the situation, I had attempted to pay for my meal despite the poor experience. I was shocked to discover the cost of my plate was over $40 for a four-piece chicken platter with macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and a drink. However, once the weapon was displayed, I left the food behind and exited the establishment to protect myself and my family. No family should experience fear, intimidation, or the presence of a firearm while attempting to enjoy a meal together. This incident was traumatic for my grandchildren and upsetting for everyone involved. I believe this matter should be taken very seriously and properly addressed to ensure no other customers experience similar behavior. Charges will be placed against the gentleman who pulled out the fire arm.
