Copying my Google review from about a year ago here…read more. Great clean, well-maintained and friendly environment. Great play spaces. Heads up for TheClubs.com members... For some reason (buyout/takeover?) they are no longer associated with TheClubs.com, so a membership from one of the other Clubs is no longer honored here; a local daily pass or 6 month membership is required. The staff doesn't know why they are no longer affiliated. They just have a notice behind the desk telling them that none of the other Clubs' memberships are honored anymore. They did credit our daily pass fee toward a 6--month membership (4 visits gives you a full ROI). Curiously, their membership cards still use The Clubs logo and they still have TheClubs.com website on their homepage, even though they are no longer part of it. They are in need of some website cleanup.

There is a possibility that one of their employees could get any information on that piece of document. I already paid the entrance fee which is not refundable per their website. This is the only place in this country that I know would keep someone's driver's license, and I fully regret going there. Alert! They will keep your driver's license. And don't forget to get it back when you leave b/c you don't want to drive without license.

I've been training with Nick, the owner, for over a year now. I enjoy our sessions together. I…read morefinally have a regular schedule with Nick, but I started out going to random sessions throughout the week, based on my schedule abs his availability. I always found him to be very flexible with me. The sessions don't come cheap, but hey, you get what you pay for. That's a common theme in life. Don't forget it. Nick monitors my progress but is also very open when it comes to movements and weights. Some days I have knee pain, some days I don't. If the weight looks easy, he will increase the reps or the weight. Sometimes I am the one who says I can do more weight, and he increases it. Sometimes I am tired and sore and he asks me how I'm doing/feeling and makes adjustments based on that. I've never been injured working with Nick. He watches my movements and corrects me as needed. He asks me if and what I've trained outside of the gym so he can tailor my workout to areas I've missed. I enjoy conversing with Nick as I train. The studio is private, so my sessions are always one on one, but the gym is a membership only place, so occasionally there are other people working out. The personal training clients get first dibs on the equipment when with Nick, but there is enough stuff and space that we are never negotiating with other people. He moved to a new gym space recently and it's more spacious than the prior spot. He also has gathered more equipment. Parking is way better now too and there are separate male and female bathrooms. I'd say the new place is a major upgrade. I only do the personal training. So while I can't speak for the gym membership, what I know is- the price is reasonable, you get 24 hour access with scheduled appointment (so the gym isn't overbooked) and there are security cameras for your safety. Check his page on IG for more info, @theweighthouse and his website theweighthouse.com as well. He also has some fantastic merch for sale.

This is the gym for you- the community is supportive, complimenting your fit, giving you the latest bar/restaurant review on the daily or offering friendly Wordle competition. The equipment here is top-notch, and the members are super friendly (except for that one girl who's always in the way with her jump rope - jk that's me.) I never knew working out could be so entertaining. The members are like a cast of characters straight out of a sitcom. There's the guy who grunts so loudly you'd think he's summoning a demon, and the woman who is always in a matching sports bra and legging set (seriously, how does she do it that early in the morning?), the girl with head phones in, but is always listening and our beloved neat freak keeping us all in check when we didn't re-rack our weights that one time. No matter who you encounter, you're sure to have a good time. If you're ready to be prepared to laugh so hard you might accidentally drop a weight on your foot - join us. Good thing there's a strict shoe wearing policy...

Cons: as founding members we thought we would be taken care of during price hikes. Dead wrong. We never got to see things promised like a protein shake shop, founding members wall, etc. Another con was the lap pool. Not heated and always too many kids to do anything. Upstairs half the time had too many classes, so you didn't really get to use the equipment anyway. Spa/rox extra, nothing good included in the price that you're paying which is just over a two hundred a month now for 2 people. We really didn't want to leave but it is clear that groups, groups of younger guys in crocs/socs, kids at the lap pool It seems they want to lure new meat in instead of taking care of the members that signed up prior to their opening. Wound up canceling and moving on to other big box corporate gyms shortly before the previous owners closed with no notice. From what I understand, they had a couple of more owners after that.. both of which let the gym slide downhill a bit. However, decided to come back just over a year and a half ago as I had heard that they were under different owners, and they dropped a significant amount of money on brand new equipment and ,,,WOW am I impressed! 5 new Power-racks & deadlifting platforms, Cadillac weightlifting bar, specialized/color coded Power, Strength & Squat bars! Talking to one of the front desk employees, he said, "they Purchased over $60,000 of new equipment and kilogram/powerlifting weights." They also have hand sanitizing stations/towels to wipe down all the equipment after you're done using which is great! Especially post-pandemic I've made it a point to support LOCALLY owned businesses and this is def one of the best gyms in Otown! Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.
