I think that many clients are regulars and it may be family-run, or at least is a locally-owned business. Classes are quick (45 minutes) and incorporate smart warm-ups and cool-downs and possibly a range of exercise equipment in between. Body Rocks is small and friendly - nothing like a mega-gym that is overwhelming and "cold." The monthly fee is a good buy if you go frequently. I recommend trying out all of the different classes. Pure Barre is a 55 minute full body workout using isometric exercises to push your muscles to the point of fatigue. This is where the change happens! I immediately saw results after starting Pure Barre. As if seeing results made this workout addicting enough, the classes are actually fun! Although the flow of the class remains the same, the movements change each class so you will never do the same exact workout twice. This was very disappointing because I just signed up 7 months ago and if your monthly fees are going to be raised I would find it more professional to alert someone so they have a chance to decide to cancel the membership or not. I would also expect to have the same membership price for at least 12 months after signing up before being subjected to a surprise price increase. This alarms me to make sure I double check the withdraw from my checking very closely on a monthly basis. I am one of 5 people that I know of that has chosen to cancel and look somewhere else because of this price increase and the manner it was handled.

So pickleball was a smash hit. Then I went into the club to get a beer, a tour, and a membership. I was pleasantly surprised by all the amenities that they offer. They have weights, a walking/jogging tracking, a steam room, a bar, a lounge, TVs, ping pong, shuffleboard, pilates classes, cardio fitness equpment, indoor & outdoor tennis courts, outdoor pickleball courts, volleyball courts, basketball courts, indoor golf, soccer/lacrosse field, and updated locker rooms. There's a lot going on here compared to other health clubs in the area. I spoke with the general manager, Val, and she was super friendly and down to earth. We had a draft beer from the bar, while we chatted and watched tennis on TV. I really liked the vibe that this place has and I am hoping to start using the weight machines and pickleball often.

The locker room facilities are adequate, but you will definitely be taken back to the late 80s early 90s with the decor. There are several toiletries available for use in case you forgot anything, and a separate area with large mirrors for getting ready after your work out. The facility offers a full-size basketball court, walking track, and with several weight/fitness equipment options. I have never been a member of this club, but have visited as a guest many times. It is tucked away in an industrial parkway area of Fairlawn, so you need to be alert when searching for the building.

There are balls to borrow so you don't have to bring your own. I called ahead to confirm that a court would be open since they always have other activities going on. We walked on the track upstairs. They have a little sitting area we were able to pack a picnic and snack before going to the pool. The pool entrance has several family bathrooms to change in. Plus the locker rooms. In the locker rooms they have a nice sauna so you can warm up. The pool area the kids love since it is spacious and divided into sections. The younger one enjoyed the water play area and the older ones enjoyed the slide. They were able to go over and over again with little wait. Overall a lot of fun for a family. Cost about $10 per person for a day pass.
