The staff at Haritage Park are wonderful and caring. My mom…read moreis in rehab and will eventually need to be in long term care, her being in a nursing home has always been a big fear of our family, but not anymore they keep us informed on her progress ,help her be more involved and motivated with activities, always asking if theirs anything she needs to make her stay more comfortable. Also Very clean. foods not to bad ether. mom loves the ice cream sundaes every Sunday.

I first toured the facility in 2014 as a possibility for my aging mother-in-law. After living at…read morehome for several years we decided it was time to look for nursing home care. The facility told us they had openings in assisted living and memory care when I inquired in November. My mother-in-law came to stay with us over the holidays. As I tried to make arrangements for admittance things became difficult. The admittance director would not return my calls. They said they would need to do an assessment in our home and someone from their nursing team would call us to set up an appointment. That never happened. Finally I was able to reach the director by phone she told me they had met as a team and decided not to take my mother-in-law. I had been honest with them saying she had some bathroom difficulties and sometimes got angry. ( Isn't that why people need to go to a nursing home? I wasn't trying to get her into a finishing school.) Anyway I found them less than helpful and somewhat rude. Not returning phone calls is not acceptable business practice.

My mother was able to see her when Dr. Spidell was out of town. That's when we finally got some answers concerning my mother's health issues.

The experience in the front (checking in) is gross... as in the very worst in every respect. Even…read morethough there are 2 people at the front desk, you must follow the little foot prints on the floor to the two iPads on stands where you must enter your name and a few other details before you are deemed a person. Then, you are handed another iPad with the identical first two pages which you have to fill in again, followed by about 15 pages of HIPPA notifications and signatures, followed by deeply personal and somewhat invasive questions about your mental condition and drinking habits (no, I have never killed someone while driving drunk...), followed by a cursory nod from the desk.... we were, by the way, told that either we fill out everything in a timely manner or forfeit our appointment. Some poor gentleman arrived a bit after us and was told his appointment had been canceled..."didn't you get our email?" He was clearly upset but that did not seem to matter. I would have followed Gary Knaus to the moon and back, but after his retirement and a few visits with Dan Smith, I went elsewhere. Unfortunately, my husband still sees him.. although I do not know why. Why is he still practicing medicine? He clearly appears to spend as little time as possible with his patients before rushing off... I'm sure there must be other practitioners who actually care.
