I see a chiropractor at home...after 17-hrs of driving, some difficult hikes, 2-days rafting on the Colorado River and tent camping, I had screaming neck and back pain. I researched chiropractors in the Snowmass / Aspen area online and saw positive reviews for Dr. Rachel Langsam. Dr. Rachel was responsive and communicative via text. She was accommodating and saw me three times during the week, including Saturday of the 4th of July holiday weekend. Dr. Rachel is thorough in her exams. As part of each session, she: ^Spent time stretching prior to adjustments ^Used electrical nerve stimulation (TENS unit) ^Used infrared therapy, which improves the action of the mitochondria within cells, triggering the growth and repair of new muscles cells and tissues. ^Educates the patient in proactive ways (stretches, ice, topicals) to prevent pain. I appreciate her gentler approach to manipulation, using an activator and drop table which provides high velocity, low amplitude, and low force adjustments. After my adjustments, Dr. Rachel used a combination of Epsom salt rub and Arnicare pain relief gel on my back & neck. Back in September, my husband and I had planned a hiking/biking trip. However, when the trip got…read morecloser, my husband woke up with a very painful toe. After some internet sleuthing, it seemed to be gout! He took some extra days off and we tried everything we could do at home to help him feel better, but we didn't want to cancel our trip. I had a great idea, how about we make the trip a tour of the hot springs of south west Colorado? Since he couldn't hike or bike very well. I had read that acupunture was good for gout and I had gotten it for trauma and anxiety and it was quite effective, so why not give it a try? I made an appointment with Chris and got all of the paperwork done on the way there. He was so kind and gentle and it felt great just to be in his presence. I went for a bike ride along the river and my husband got his treatment. It went well and he sent some Chinese herbs to our house. This condition resolved itself very quickly and my husband was back to mountain biking and hiking.
