The restaurant followed the covid protocol properly. They reserved one door for entering and the other for exit. Staffs were wearing mask. Our server was friendly. We ordered the burger and bulgogi. The burger was mediocre. Bulgogi was better. It came a big portion. But meat was a bit dry. Overall they were okay but not impressive. read more

We have eaten at Jay's kitchen many times in the past and it has nearly always been a good dining experience. We changed over to Jay's kitchen from the downtown location due the dirty conditions at the old location. It appears the new location is also going this direction. Today we were seated at a dirty table, with dirty plates and seats. We wiped down our own seats and asked for new plates. Rai took great care of us and the food was great as usual but I'm not sure we will dine here again given the down turn in cleanliness. read more

This is a wonderful restaurant. The inside is decorated so nice and it is very quiet and you can talk to people in your party. Food was delicious we had sushi and Japanese egg rolls couldn't be better. The firecracker roll was so good. I would recommend this place to anyone. Well Jay's satisfies my sushi craving but it's nothing too special. If you like cream cheese rolls and tempura fried rolls, then you'll love this place. As for myself, I like more fresh tuna and yellowtail rolls which they are slightly lacking on. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of options available on the menu. We had the Japanese Egg Roll and Korean Dumplings for appetizers. My wife's comment was it was the best egg roll she has ever had. My wife had the hibachi chicken and I had sushi rolls for dinner. Traveling through the area on business, I decided to try Jay's kitchen based on the Yelp reviews. This is an Asian fusion concept with a sushi bar. They offer a little bit for everyone including hibachi meals, a few Korean items, and the aforementioned sushi. I went with the daily sushi special and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't what I would typically order as it had a lot of tempora but it was very good. My server was very friendly and attentive, although she seemed a little nervous. Perhaps she's new. I'll definitely return to Jay's next time I'm in the area. Draft beer price seemed a little high. read more

Went in for a burger lived here 2 years never tried Jay's. I was surprised the burger didn't come with fries. $12 Burger and not that great. $6.00 fries? They wer egood but over salted and the Fries portion was good size but 19.21 for 1 burger and fries plus tax? Red Robin would have blown this away. I realized after I left I didn't see a charge for the iced tea- Thank God would have cost 22.21 before the tip. For my money 24.21 with tip I will never eat there again- sorry het with the times. I had heard a lot of negatives about this place and after the experience I had, I really don't understand why people had such negative things to say. First of all, the place looks BEAUTIFUL inside compared to what sumos looked like (dirty and gross). The staff was really friendly and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The duck dumplings were OKAY, they honestly tasted like the chicken dumplings you can get from Walmart HOWEVER the bulgogi fries were AH-MAZING! I will go back just to eat those fries. The sushi was good, standard sushi, but those fries were the real winner here. I loved seeing some different items on the menu like the duck, the hot pot items, etc because it brings a lot of diversity to the Goldsboro area. Our waitress Mercedes was very knowledgeable of the menu, was very kind and eager to help me through my food allergies, and even gave us amazing suggestions to try. Bad Experience! I placed my to go order at around 8PM, they told me they would text me whenever it was ready. I left my house in hopes that by the time I got there it would be ready for pickup, I waited for an hour in the parking lot and I realized it was taking a bit to long so I walked up to the window to ask for an update on my order. The pick up window attendant told me that she had sent me a text the order had been ready for a while. I let her know I never received a message for my order, to which she responded isn't this your number...the number she showed me was nothing to close to the cellphone number I had provided her. I didn't make a big deal I just accepted my order and left. Upon arriving to my house I opened my salad and as I poured the dressing onto what I thought was lettuce, it looked a little to thick then I realized it was raw cabbage after taking a bite out of it and aside from that it also had raw zucchini. I was to tired to go back and complain so I just threw out my salad and called it a night. I have never had an experience like this at Jays. read more

Good sushi but anything that comes spicey has no flavor as their spice tastes very artificial and lacks flavor so all you taste is pain. And i LOVE spicey dont get me wrong but i also value flavor. And theyre portions are definately smaller when its to go. read more

Not bad food but can be overpriced paying $28.99 for Galbi? No I wouldn't pay that I can go just wait and go to my favorite Korean restaurant and get it way cheaper! But I guess that's what they do here when they think people don't know any better but overall the food wasn't bad and the prices can be ok depending on what you get. Would I go back? Maybe the restaurant is good for a group of people and want to try something different other than a regular steakhouse in town or fast food. I love Korean style food so I checked it out!
