I've come to JayDee's once in a while. Jerry got me all cleaned up for my wedding back in 2013. These guys are awesome! My most recent experience is with Bryce. He's young but damn! He can give a clean straight razor head shave! He is easy to talk to, even great with young kids, he was finishing up a kid when I got there. Another plus, he works later than the rest of the crew. First thing's first, I am writing this review from my personal experience as a LADY! I had a cute A-line bob going on up until i decided to chop off all my hair two months ago. Luckily my friend DJRonald gave me all the contact information to JayDee's Classic Barber Shop! He told me to ask for David and told me I should make an appointment a week or two in advance. So as my appointment date reaches closer and closer, I was nervous, of course! Ive never been to a barber shop so I had no idea what to expect! I even had no idea what I wanted done, It was hard for me to explain since I was still fresh in the whole "short hair scene" haha. Made an appointment with Bryce and was blown away with his skills and patience when dealing with my 2 year old. Took my kids today. Victor took care of the hair cuts today. Good environment, and they take care of both kids and adults with no problem. Place looks clean and with out bad odors. It is a little pricey, but it is worth it. As a recommendation, they should work at making appointments. I heard them all getting a little confuse making appointments every time the phone ring. Living out in Discovery Bay, it's a rarity to find decent barbers out here. From Brentwood to finally settling in with an Antioch barber for quite awhile. However, overtime it became inconsistent so I had to make a switch. But who woulda known it just be down the street next to my old one. I scheduled a week in advance and was told that I was assigned to a barber named Victor. I arrive about 5 mins early to my appointment and was told my barber should be coming back from his lunch break. Although Victor was a little bit late to the appointment, he did apologize and was very attentive to what I wanted. I told him what I was looking for and made it very clear to focus on the fade and line up of the haircut. Most importantly, to take his time because I was in no rush. Just in case, I also showed him a picture and he asked a bit more questions before proceeding. The process was so meticulous! As time passed by, you can see the level of craftsmanship and detail he put into it all. Overall, he executed everything I asked for perfectly and I quote, "Made me be a believer!" I had to find a barber last minute do to overload at work, I was too busy and didn't have time to make it to my go-to barber. I called about 12 barbers in the Brentwood, Antioch, and Pittsburg area. I got ahold of Jay Dee's and asked them for availability, the man on the phone told me $40.00 a cut, $60.00 for a face shave and cut, so $60.00 an entire head. He told me his line was almost full and those were the prices of the day, I asked him if I could get a cut in 15-20 minutes and he said yes, I told him I'd be there shortly. I walk into the shop 15 minutes later after driving down from Brentwood and he says "We closed it up at 1pm" ..... I understand that every barber shop in the area was either closed or overbooked because of Christmas, but to tell someone come down and get a cut then send them away upon arrival is just unprofessional. read more
