A1 Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Pittsburg, California

My son needed a cut and I didnt want to drive to his barber that he regularly goes to. I remembered there was a barbershop near me and decided to book an appointment. The process for booking an appointment online was easy, straightforward and simple. I booked with Barber Nelly Nell. Even when I had to reschedule my original appointment with him it was still simple and easy.. Availability for a sooner appointment, too. Really happy for that as a busy person/parent. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30pm, I was going to be a few minutes late and I let Nelly Nell know and he was understanding. Still took my son in. The appointment lasted a hour, which isn't our normal wait time with my son's regular barber, BUT it was SO worth the wait. He took his time with my son's cut, talked with him and was very intentional with how he fulfilled the service. My son got a hot towel on his face, his first time, and he liked it. When he stepped out the chair, he was satisfied and so was I. My son had minimal hair all over him, which he appreciated, and was really happy that his line up was clean and even. My younger brother goes to NellyNell also and everytime he gets serviced by him he loves it. The shop has a welcoming and chill vibe. It definitely gives barbershop I wasnt uncomfortable or anything. Space was clean, put together, professional (i observed other walk-ins and appointments be treated while waiting) and vibrant. With all that said, I will definitely be bringing my son again AND be a loyal customer to Barber NellyNell. If you're looking for a barbershop and in the area, I recommend A1 and NellyNell. You will not be disappointed. read more

A1 Barbershop - barber shop vibes - Barbers Near Me - Pittsburg, California

No one had any customers when we walked in, maybe that should've been a sign, but we're new to the area so we're trying to find a good spot. This, however, isn't the one. My son showed a photo and wanted a mid to low taper fade, but received a very high taper with a very noticeable, uneven diagonal hair line going down towards his right eye across his forehead. My son was upset with it. Boookie did line up my son's barely there mustache which we didn't ask for, but it looks good if that's what we wanted. He also did my son's eyebrows, which we didn't ask for, but they look good. This location is also in a spot where there's only one way to turn in and it gets very congested on that part of Railroad. Not the best, but it's in a very centralized area with lots of traffic in that part of town. read more

Nelly Nel cut my 2 year olds fro lol he did an amazing job and made my son feel very comfy! Nelly asked what we (the parents) wanted the whole time. He was patient and so warm. We will definitely be back. read more

Quality work and a pleasant experience. Ezra was Very patient with my child. The vibes were great.

We've been to a1 barbershop since they've opened and had different experiences (and all good ones) with all three. My boys have seen Ryan, Laura and now Nas. Today I had two appts with Laura and long story short, they ended up getting their cuts with Nas. He was kid friendly, we didn't feel rushed and walked out happy. Good environment and good vibes from everyone there. read more

Thank you so much A1 Barbershop for the free event in honor of Dr.King's Birthday. My kids appreciate this event it goes a long way .

I was looking for a decent barber shop to get a haircut for my two year old son and I before a family gathering. My barber had to cancel last minute due to family emergency. He recommended A1 since I was in that area. Definitely going to keep them on my list of trusted places to go. When it comes to keeping my image up to par I don't mess around. Especially working in sales. They also had a great skill set for cutting kids hair. Very family oriented and accommodating. Do recommend. read more

Welcoming staff who all had excellent cuts themselves. Super clean and organized inside the shop. Saw a variety of people coming in and all received the same attentive service. Saw a young child with his dad getting his first barber cut and it was heartwarming to see him relax and enjoy the service. The prices are reasonable so people can afford to keep looking and feeling good. I had some great conversations there. If you are in the area and need a cut you can trust these folks. read more

I came there and got my son and nephew haircut. My nephew went to the young lady in the back. His haircut was perfect. But my son haircut was horrible. He went to the lady in the front. They charged too much for kids. $40 and $35. For a bullshit ass taper fade and a line only around the sides. Only to have my son hair line not even at all. Don't go to the girl in the front to the right when you walk in. I will never go back. read more

I brought my 7 month old son to get his first haircut by Nelson. He has sooo much patience! My son kept moving a lot but Nelson was very kind enough to work together with us and most of all made my son feel more at ease every moment my son felt uneasy. His wife is just as patient and understanding and also went out of her way to make my son feel comfortable by putting on cocomelon on her phone for him! Thank you so much . Such a great experience. Also the certificate, how cute is that lol. read more

This shop is the spot.I love the people and the atmosphere. I got a really clean fade by Nas the Barber, he hooked me up. He's now my go-to guy. Check them out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Blotchy, not faded well, he went to his senior pictures like this. Can't be fixed without cutting too much, have to wait for it to grow out. The lineup on his forehead was not evened out either. His hairline is higher naturally on his right side, when lining it up, less should've been cut on the right to even it out to make it look straighter. read more

I'm new to Pittsburg and have been looking for a barber. I went to A1 yesterday and got a great haircut! Nelson is awesome! Great cut, paid attention to detail, friendly and I'm 100% satisfied! read more

Unfortunately horrible experienced. Our barber was Nas. We had a cut for 2 booked. Somehow, those two haircuts were completed in 23 minutes TOTAL. How he did so much damage in such little time is beyond me. He completed butchered my sons hair. Somehow ruined locks of curls and turned into a mullet. To be honest, seems as if he was disinterested in cutting their hair. There was no time or effort put into these cuts. He just wanted us in and out. We were referred here by our previous barber due to a move from SF to Concord so our expectations were higher. Specially went with referral to avoid this. Really disappointed in the service and lack of respect for two young boys hair. My son now has to walk around with his hoodie on to avoid the embarrassment of his hair. read more

Took my son to A1 Barbershop for his first hair cut, walking in I had anticipated I would have to strap my son still but it was the complete contrary! Nas' approach was super smooth my son didn't cry once, in fact I was so surprised how chill my son was the entire cut and was thrilled to see my son get a certificate to remember this experience! We definitely will be returning for all future haircuts and highly recommend for anyone else searching for a barber/barbershop! read more

A wonderful addition to the Pittsburg, Ca community! Great service and talented barbers. The barber shop is family-owned and operated, and it shows in how well they treat their customers and staff. When there, you feel welcomed and part of the A1 community. In the short time they've been open, they have already had several events to introduce themselves to the community. They've provided free haircuts, COVID resources and job information. Their last event, themed, "Sunday Kickback", didn't disappoint; it included a live DJ, car show, and $20 haircuts to remind us of the old school days. And they always include their neighbor businesses and non-profits in the events and promotions. And the barbers seem genuinely happy to be there. Whether they're cutting at a community event or on a regular work day, the barbers provide excellent customer service. read more
