I went to his office on the recommendation of a friend, and was quite leery upon arrival due to the state of the town and the office (this was the dirtiest bathroom I've experienced in a healthcare setting, and of course the Mom Valley isn't a beacon of economic vitality by any means). However, as soon as I met with the Doctor, I realized he was fully engaged in my issue and was intently hunting for a diagnosis. My appointment was late in the day and he had squeezed me in, but he treated me like I was family. I was there for about 2 hrs and started to get antsy after an hour and a few brief consultations. Finally, at about hour 1.5, Dr Rach parades in with all of my medical history and ultrasound records ready to troubleshoot!! Mind you, I had not provided the information for my previous ultrasounds or doctor visits because frankly, I don't know where I had been since I'm new to this area. He spent all that time to look up this information on my behalf, analyzed it, studied me, then evaluated it! Who does that anymore?! I didn't leave until 6:30 pm. This doctor spent a lot of time trying to help me - he even stayed late into the evening. I don't know anything about medical school or what makes one doctor better than another, but I do believe that a doctor who is committed to solving a patient's problem is a damn good doctor. I've never had a doctor be this intent and scientific and committed. I highly recommend this guy. He will take care of you.

I went in a month ago to get something to help me pass a kidney stone I knew I had (I've had 5 of them previous to this one), however Dr. Herman wanted me to get a CT scan and didn't even bother to perform an exam on me so it was pretty much pointless for me to go in in the first place. He said his staff would send in an RX for the CT asap and so I waited for them to send it off and then left. Well two days later, just as I expected, I passed the stone in my home without any meds, which was the most painful thing ever. I didn't even bother telling the office because they are useless, but I figured I would still get the CT so I could see if I had any more. Well a month and a week later, I get a call form the hospital saying they JUST received the notice that I needed a CT ASAP, however, there was no script attached to perform it and I would need the doctor to send over the actual script. WHAT IDIOTS?! Please save yourself the head ache and money and find someone, anyone better than this poor excuse of a doctor. Sincerely, a very angry ex patient.

He didn't even send my urine off for a culture, or else maybe he would have seen that these weren't UTI's at all. I'm lucky that I only have Interstitial Cystitis, and not some sort of cancer in my bladder, because I have seen in other unsatisfied reviews that Dr. Lutins has a tendency to ignore even those patients. I thought perhaps he was having a bad day, or was bad with female patients, but it seems like he is simply a terrible doctor who does not care about his clients. Please don't see him, and if you have already and have had a bad experience, please share it wherever you can. I'm calling the networks he is affiliated with and making sure they know of this problem, which doesn't seem like a one off thing. Do the same if you are in the same boat as I.

When Dr. Halenda left the practice, my husband was assigned Dr. Albert Geskin. My husband was prescribed finasteride as an essential treatment for his PSA levels. He took it as prescribed until his prescription expired over two months ago. He called their office repeatedly to get a prescription refill. His calls and messages were NEVER returned, so he went without this necessary prescription for two months. Finally, he had an appointment on December 18, 2024, which had been scheduled during his last appointment with their office. During this appointment, he learned that his PSA levels were slightly elevated. His prescription was renewed at that time. While the practice may not consider cancer to be an important issue, it is of critical importance for my husband and me. Their office's disregard for his essential needs borders on medical neglect, if not by legal standards it is. It's outrageous how their office's communication fails, especially in the face of cancer. Along these same lines, I WAS a patient with their practice for bladder and pelvic issues and was treated by Justin P. Isariyawongse, M.D. After the last time I was seen several months ago, I needed another appointment. I tried calling their office for two months, and all I ever encountered was an outgoing voice message. I left several messages and never received a return phone call. I sent messages via their contact form and never received a response. After two months of trying to communicate with their office and schedule an appointment, I gave up. I found a new urologist at Magee who has been exemplary in their communication and treatment of me. Moreover, their front office staff are rude, condescending, dismissive, and lack any human warmth. Nobody wants to be referred for a diagnostic mammogram. This means you are having some type of…read moreproblem and, unlike a normal screening mammogram, you are starting from a place of being extremely scared. I live much closer to the Magee imaging location in Pleasant Hills, but the first available appointment I was offered was here at Passavant so of course I took it. The staff here knows you are having a rough day and treats you with absolute kindness and professionalism. Although I had filled out detailed paperwork in advance, the radiologist sat down with me to talk through it before doing my imaging to make sure she understood my problem and concerns fully. I did not feel remotely rushed. It was explained to me that if I needed any additional imaging to zero in on a problem, they would be doing it before I left, and everything would be read and explained to me then and there. This is exactly what you want and need in this situation. I was very fortunate to have a good result today and the radiologist took me into a private room so the doctor who read the imaging could talk with me. Again I did not feel rushed as we discussed the issue, my results and next steps. The doctor could see that I was very scared and emotional and held my hand while sharing the news, and gave me a hug as I left. I felt so compassionately cared for as a whole person, not just a patient. I'm sure these professionals are dealing with a wide variety of situations daily and I know from having my own family in the medical profession that this takes a toll over time. I appreciate them doing what they do in such a kind, thorough and professional manner.

Here, I had an appointment for my first-ever mammogram, and the two employees provided me with highly professional service. Upon my arrival at the main entrance to the hospital, I used my cell phone to call a phone number to check in with the registration desk. The registration employee kindly gave me directions for navigating through the hospital to her office. She then gave me a registration form to fill out. Within a few minutes, she walked me to another room to change out of my shirt and to put on a gown. (Make sure to wear a two-piece outfit and to not wear any powder, lotion, or deodorant.) The second employee performed the mammogram. She also had a very kind personality. I had no idea how to position my body in the mammogram machine. The mammogram felt physically painful, and initially I pulled my body away, but the employee very patiently repositioned me to ensure that the images turned out well. Tip: For me, leaning to the right or left and grabbing onto handles helped me to not pop out of the machine. A radiologist should read my mammogram images in 7-10 business days. The results will be sent to me both online and through the mail. Sometimes patients must return for additional testing if a "technical recall" occurs and additional views are needed. I hope that my first set of images are good enough that I do not have to return again until next year!
