First off this place is a drive through with some expresso and Jesus name on it. I ordered a latte with hazelnut for which I paid around $6-$7 for a sweet milk which had more hazelnut flavor than coffee in it. I think she forgot to add coffee to it. Tasted horrible. Plain milk tastes better. I would not recommend this place. The only good thing was the Christmas sticker on top. read more

Now called "Hot Shot Espresso" - very good coffee, lots of different drinks to try. Good customer service, always willing to make any creation you ask for. Coffee is strong which I like, would definitely recommend! Price could be better but I'd still spend my money there. Convenient drive thru with a window on both sides. read more

We were out-of-owners who were looking for any coffee other than convenience store coffee. Thankfully we did not have to settle and found Java Nick's. I had an XL Iced Snickerdelicious Latte, which was excellent. It was a plus that they used just enough ice, where other drink places fill drinks with ice. While it's true that Java Nick's has great coffee and the people who work there are super sweet, their hours of operation are horrible! And since I have to rate things on their availability to actually get them, I have to give Java Nick's two stars. Let me explain: They close at 1:00 in the afternoon on Saturday!!! Seriously?!? I could buy three drinks on a Saturday if they stayed open until 7. On weekdays they don't open until 6:30 a.m. and on Saturdays it's 7. Closed on Sundays, which I get because it's Sunday and Christians. But, I'm Christian and I drink coffee everyday of the week. I also go out of town frequently and have to leave before 7 a.m. because it takes 3 hours to get anywhere good. So, there are just so many times I need a good cup of coffee and the cute little hut sits all closed and abandoned :( I'd venture to say they could drastically increase profits if they extended their hours of operation. And they could hire high schoolers and college students who are in class until 1:00. Just a thought. Otherwise, keep making great coffee and treat those super sweet employees extra well! read more

Noticeably Great coffee. I saw this place on the side of the road as a mini drive through and so I tried it out. Excellent choice! I merely got a coffee with milk but it was GOOD coffee! What else should one expect from a place specializing in coffee!? They do have pastries and other offerings but I just got coffee. I returned each remaining day that week on my business trip for my start to each day. Very happy I checked this place out. read more

I love this coffee shop. The owner is amazing, and always does so much for the community. Every time I've gone, the staff gets my order out fast and is incredibly friendly. This is a business that cares about its costumers and it's town, and it makes me love them all the more. The lemon poppy seed muffin top is my kiddos favorite, and if I could get the butter beer frappe every day, I would. I also enjoy reading the Bible verse of the day, every time I wait for my coffee. They make the best drinks around town. They range from hot to cold coffee drinks and then some non-coffee options (hot chocolate, smoothies, italian creme sodas, etc). You can sit outside at a picnic table if you want or just get it to go. They have several breakfast choices (oatmeals, bagels) and serve soup for lunch. There are two sides to the drive thru but they still serve one at a time so it can take a while. They will deliver for businesses if you get 4+ items. I absolutely love this coffee-shop I come here all the time and there one of the only ones that will give you 32 ounce coffee and it maybe a little pricey but it's a small price to pay when you need that extra push for the day it's worth it not to mention they stay open til six pm !! Need a good latte when you are in Carlsbad, this is the place. In fact almost the only place although trinity and blue house also have lattes. This was my best by far on this trip.
