There are some shops I will go out of my way to frequent. Their products, customer service and IT factor just make it worth the effort. Java Jazz is not one of those places. It's good but not OMG GOOD!
This coffee shop is located inside the student center of a large community college. Java Jazz is tucked away near the dining center and there is no large signage. You need to look for this place because it might be easy to miss. This is a small shop but they have all the coffee basics. They also have various pastries, sandwiches and other noshables to get you through the day. I have not tried the food but it seems to be popular. Java Jazz has stiff competition in the food department, though, since it is located next to a Pizza Hut and well stocked food court.
I am not a fancy coffee person. I favor the basics with, perhaps, a wee bit of flavoring. I have enjoyed all the drinks I have ordered here. They seem to be quite capable in the coffee arts. Granted they are not able to offer the selection given through Starbucks or other chain coffee shops. The selection seems to fit the location and customer base.
If coffee is not your thing, there are many other beverages sold here. They have bottled water, vitamin drinks and those healthy drinks that I never bother to buy.
The prices are reasonable. There is nothing here to give you sticker shock. The staff is pleasant enough but they do not seem to wildly enthusiastic. No complaints here, though.
There is a seating area which is nice and cozy. One huge plus is the noise level is average so you are actually able to carry on a conversation when you are here. This is a nice place, it's just not WOW. read more
