I went up there because my order was already placed it was two açaí bowls, one had strawberries and pineapples and the other had just strawberries. Also I didn't want coconut on either but I forgot to put that for the pineapple one. So I get my order and look and the one with pineapple has coconut but it doesn't have the pineapples, so I told the workers that and I told them I forgot to say no coconut which was my fault but I told them if they could add pineapple and take off the coconut. I get home and there's still coconut on it, so I have to go back up there and tell them to just give me a refund because I don't have time for them to remake it over, so the guy he gives me the refund for one of them but forgets to give me the refund for the second one so I have to sit there and wait for him to come back. So this was a terrible experience and I probably won't come back to this one. read more

I just got wanted to give a quick shout out to this location. They are quick and deliver your order to your table while you are waiting. No shouting of people's name. This allows everyone else to keep conversing or reading or listening to the music without constant interruptions. I'm partial to their menu. So nice to have something different to order. read more

The service and employees are nice enough. The smoothies are even pretty good. But it doesn't look like they maintain the place very well. There are blinking and dead lights, and there's dust everywhere. They are also currently blasting explicit rap. My son is almost 3. He may not understand a lot of the language or meaning in the music, but I do, and I'm uncomfortable being here with him. I wouldn't come here by myself either if given the option. read more

I really like Tropical Smoothie. I feel extra healthy when I grab a smoothie or a sandwich here. The other day I had a ginger apple smoothie and it really hit the spot. The Lenexa location always has plenty of employees on hand to assist hungry customers, and the store itself is always clean. I do wish the smoothies came in smaller portions but on the other hand I never have a problem finishing them because they're so good. This place is killin' the smoothie and flat bread game right now. They have a daily happy hour, believe it's still from 3pm to 6pm, that is a buy one get one half-off smoothie (incredible deal and unheard of to hear daily smoothie happy hours unless you're visiting Sonic). Additionally, their peanut butter and banana flatbread (peanut butter, banana, granola & honey) is incredible and oddly extremely satisfying. Don't knock this 8th wonder of the world until you try it and then you'll instantly get what I mean. Their menu, for being a smoothie cafe, is quite extensive (wraps, bowls, sandwiches, flatbreads, breakfast, seasonal food) and constantly changes with "Seasonal items". They do offer breakfast and kids foods as well. Even their smoothie list is impressive and breaks it out into "Kids Smoothies", "Superfood Smoothies", "Classic Smoothies" and "Seasonal Smoothies". My favorite smoothies here are AVOCOLADA (made me a firm believer that avocados in smoothies is actually a great thing) and CHIA BANANA BOOST . Trust me on these. Go ahead and treat yo' self. Smoothie Spree Chronicles - Part 11: Step aside, Smoothie King! There's a new smoothie monarch in town. (Not that I ever liked Smoothie King anyway...) I was really impressed by the size of their smoothies (24 oz!!!) and their reasonable prices. I tried the avocalada (avocado, pineapple, spinach/kale, coconut and lime) and added ginger, and it was pretty great! It wasn't the best smoothie I've ever had on my smoothie spree around KC, but it was still delicious, and the reasonable price + friendly service earned them 5 stars. I haven't gotten the chance to try their food yet, but I really want to because they can substitute the meat in some of their menu items for Beyond Meat strips (aka fake chicken). Disclaimer: Giving this two stars based solely on the food and smoothie I ordered today but I've heard good things from coworkers. There's ample parking and it's easy to find. The interior is spacious and clean and there are places to sit whether it's just you or a larger group.The staff is friendly, which is important to me when I try a new place. (It's never fun when the staff seems inconvenienced by your questions.) I had the Detox Island Green Smoothie (can definitely taste the ginger) and the Baja Chicken Bowl sans cheese. The smoothies only come in one size and it's huge. I didn't finish mine because it was pretty sugary, which is to be expected since it's a smoothie. The meal bowl was really disappointing, especially since it's almost $8. You'll see in the photo that the avocado was brown, so I didn't eat any of it.The rice was dry so I was glad I had the salsa. The chicken was fine but I threw most of the meal away. Overall, not a great first impression. read more

I've seen a lot about Tropical Smoothie Cafe online, especially with the new one opening in South Overland Park. I decided to finally give it a try as this one is down the street from my apartment. It was really busy when I went, and a little difficult to get to the counter to order. While this was he case, I can only assume this means the food is good! I opted for the watermelon mojito smoothie, as I'm a fan of mojitos. However, this smoothie was really lacking in flavor. I usually associate mojito with mint and lime, and I wasn't getting any of that with this smoothie. Just watermelon, nothing to overly sweet. Despite my smoothie being a bit of a let down, I do intend to go back. I'm not going to let one smoothie stop me from trying another, or trying something off the food menu. read more

From the name, I just wasn't expecting to find great sandwiches and wraps, but I was wrong. I had the turkey, bacon, ranch sandwich and my date had the Jamaican jerk wrap. We both had smoothies. Everything was very good and served quickly--nice for those who don't have a lot of time for lunch. Our bill was about 24 bucks, so not inexpensive for a joint without table service and the staff could show a bit more personality, but I'm willing to come back again! It's not very big, and they were busy so we were lucky to find a table. And, don't expect a lot of ambiance, it's a bit spartan and very informal. read more

I came here for lunch with a friend. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is friendly. I had a buffalo chicken wrap. It was good and was served warm, which was nice. My friend also ordered a wrap, but hers didn't come out until 15-20 min after I got mine. People who came in long after is were served smoothies before she got her wrap and I had almost finished eating by the time her food made it to the table. A cute little spot in Lenexa that definitely doesn't disappoint. I got the "Immune Blast" smoothie which is pretty tangy but in an enjoyable way, and the Thai chicken salad but with the fake chicken option. It was delicious. This place is a Vegetarian's heaven and very affordable considering how heathy and filling it is. I would highly recommend this place. Okay it took me a while to get here and I've only had a smoothie but I'm hooked! I got the Island Green, which has spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, and banana...and I also added avocado to it. My daughter treated me to the jerk chicken bowl. I have to say-I was not impressed which was disheartening after having them cater an event at my job previously wherever the jerk chicken wrap was delicious! However, the bowl was 50% lettuce, maybe 1T of rice and IbthinknI saw some black beans. My daughter ordered a different bowl to eat while waiting at a local business. When I asked her later on how did she like her bowl she was not a fan. Her rice was hard and again the amount of lettuce was ridiculously too much. If a place is called Tropical Smoothie, I would think they would be able to make good Smoothies. The smoothie was thick which is nice but it was tons of ice blended with very little of everything else so was very much like drinking blended ice. They need to add more into the smoothie so they taste better. I still gave them two stars cause I also order an warp and that was very good. I did red onions on the side as only I eat them. I also liked how the warp was warm. Also we the warp you can pay like $2 to get a smoothie which is not a bad deal even if it is more ice then smoothie. read more

Fantastic!! I recommend! Service: I came in Monday night with a friend, short line but they got to me fast! There were only two people because we came in fairly late, the older of the two, probably 19-20, took our order while the younger, 16-17, made the smoothies. The cashier was super nice and helped us pick out our smoothies, while the younger was chatting us up! Loved it! Smoothies: We didn't get anything to eat this time (we will next time) but our drinks were AWESOME! I got the Pomegranate Plunge, which was soooo good! My friend got the Island Green and I had a taste... SO GOOD! I don't know if any of their smoothies could be bad choices! Atmosphere: Fun, upbeat music playing the whole time. The place was well lit and very colorful (tropical!). It seemed to be very clean, which made me feel good! EXTRA: What made me really excited is how visible everything is. I could see all the food prep, and all the smoothie ingredients from the door. My absolute favorite lunch place in town! The flatbreads are all amazing and the kale apple slaw is one of the best sides available anywhere. The food is healthy and fresh and the staff always seem to be the nicest people in town! My go to is the Chipotle Chicken Club flatbread--make it a combo with the tasty Açaí Berry Boost smoothie. Tropical smoothie is really my go to for any type of smoothie or shake needed! So many smoothies I can choose from whenever I go here. Not only the smoothies are good, but the food is pretty good too their wraps are the best comes with a side of chips, Kale salad or a fruit of choice. Really cool chill spot to go to after a work out, or just on a lunch run. There is tables to sit at or you can sit st the side bar and wait and eat also. The one of in my area on the Lenexa def a recommendation to check out every time I have went inside my service has always been great, never had a problem of something not being right or having a problem with my food.
