Our hotel was nearby, I stopped here daily for chai tea latte or a nice cup of fresh juice. The place has sandwiches, bagels, small thing of ice cream, dessert like cheesecake and other things, muffins and so on... The staff were friendly. The place was clean. It's conveniently located within the Grand hotel. It's located in an awesome spot since there's not much around that area. Also, it's nice that they're open early for those of us that are early risers and like our coffee/tea and take a walk on the beach before everyone awakens. read more

The food is okay (but pricey) when you're looking for grab and go ONLY. Ordering from the menu is extremely problematic. Yesterday they were out of everything we tried to order. Today they took 25 minutes to make two paninis. In the meantime, a couple waited over 20 minutes for a drink and then requested a refund, they were met with push back but ultimately got their money back from the manager. The service is bad. The girl double charged me and the manager had to correct it, twice. The boy making our paninis changed the garbage and cleaned the microwave out right before he went to grab our food off the grill. I had to stop him and ask him to change his gloves. He rolled his eyes more times than I could count. A third girl was pushing food around the flood with a dirty mop, including right under the chairs of other guests without asking them to move. Unless you're desperate, find somewhere else. read more

This place was a convenience place for breakfast however, you would have to be very very patient because there was only one person to take the order, cook the breakfast sandwiches and make espresso. Located in the Grand Hotel is a small café that has many items and open really late. Great smoothies, coffee, pastries, ice cream and sandwiches. Pleasant staff and you can eat inside the Hotel where there are chairs and tables or inside the café. read more

I ordered a "Dirty Banana" almond milk latte and a egg & cheese panini with as many vegetables as they could put in it. Latte: I work at Starbucks so I'm used to a much stronger espresso taste in my coffee. However the unique banana chocolate flavor in my coffee was actually a big win! The espresso is thinner than one might be used to as a Starbucks drinker, but for a morning strolling down the boardwalk- it was fine. The panini: The panini was sub par but I appreciate the extra effort that was made to customize my order since they didn't have any vegetarian paninis (except tomato mozzarella). The bread was more toasty, textured and flavorful than anything in the actual sandwich was but still filled me up nonetheless! The customer service: The foreign student who took my order was so sweet, her name was Anastasia. We even chit-chatted about Starbucks since she was interested in applying there and she was so nice about customizing my order. The others actually making the orders didn't seem like they cared for my business. Overall I'd love to give it another try when I come back to Ocean City. A good business focuses on the 3 "P"s. This business is only good at half of one of them. Product: Great made from scratch drinks with fresh ingredients. Average premade sandwiches, ok paninis, and fair baked goods. Free wifi and open 24x7 beach front on the boardwalk. Process: One employee rang up a 15 deep person line but never began making any drinks. A second employee made paninis but never msde drinks. A third employee cut cantelope but never made drinks. 15 minutes after we ordered our 3 drinks, the woman at the register began making all of the line's drinks. Almost a half hour after ordering, we got our drinks. This process is broken. People: The staff listened but didn't smile or say hello. They never stopped working but didnt act like a team to complete orders. As a result the store was packed with people waiting for drinks or to order When staying at the Grand Hotel I may get a drink here but service is way too disorganized and slow if you want a quick drink passing by on the boardwalk.. read more

EXTREMELY slow service. Took 30 minutes just to get my coffee. Ordered two different iced lattes, which didn't even contain ANY espresso and NO milk. There was 1 1/2 in. I so badly wanted to love this place. It's conveniently located in the lobby of the Grand Spa & Hotel where we were staying. We came around 10:30 on a saturday to get some coffee and breakfast. The line was short but the preparation took much longer than expected. I had ordered a specialty drink, however when the barista announced it 5 minutes later, she called it a different name. About 8 minutes later I ask her if it's my drink and both baristas kind of shrugs and says yes (it ended up being the wrong drink- a plain black coffee with some flavor syrup, and they never made the drink I ordered- and paid for) The food took much longer. I think at this point we were so hungry that the food tasted amazing. The next day we gave them another shot. The wait was the same, except I ordered the same exact drink and got a completely different beverage than the one I received the day before. I tried to order a light breakfast but the cashier could not understand me for her life. After many times of repeating myself, I went ahead and ordered something easier to understand. Although, I feel like you should really know your menu, and key words like yogurt. The second time around, the drink was good, but the food just wasn't as tasty- without the hunger, we could compare the food to jimmy deans frozen breakfast. Even though this is the only coffee house in that specific region of the beach, do yourself a huge favor and walk a little down to the boardwalk for actual coffee and food. This place was a disaster! The sign outside said they had wraps, we walked in and didn't see any wraps on the sign so we asked one of the girls who worked there if they had wraps... she didn't speak English so she called another girl out. Who said "no chicken".. whatever that means. The language barrier was a huge huge issue... So we ended up getting: 1) pressed juices which tasted like soap 2) a buffalo chicken panini (yes they had chicken) which was freezing cold and had no buffalo sauce on it... maybe your sandwiches are premade but at least put the dang sauce on! My cousin ended up having to ask for buffalo sauce and put it on herself 3) an espresso that had steam coming out but was like warm?? A must stop for me every morning I am at the beach! Located inside the "Grand" hotel (don't need to go inside the hotel if you are on the broad walk) Highly recommend the "almond joy" frozen coffee. I add coconut into mine and it's delicious! They have all different types of flavors so you're bound to find something you like. They will make your coffee anyway you want (iced, hot, extra shot, whatever). In recent years they have expanded their food menu and can make different types of breakfast sandwiches. They also sell muffins and Krispy Kreme donuts. Java Bar isn't cheap (my drink cost around $6). They also aren't the fastest at getting your order which is why I rated four stars, but for the few days you're on vacation, you shouldn't be in a rush anyway! read more

I've been here several times with my in-laws when we visit Ocean City. The location is in the middle of everything, but the food/drinks are just so-so...you pay for the convenience factor of a quick bite. The staff, however, leaves much to be desired. There is a particularly snarky brunette behind the counter who was very rude to my wife and I when we simply asked to change our order from a latte to espresso. And then the very next day, we were in line to order again and she pulled in someone else to take our order instead, only to take the order of the people behind us. The service is overall fine in terms of timeliness, but they seem to often be short staffed...better off exploring other options along the boardwalk. read more

Open 24 hours and has a nice selection. Cashiers are friendly and helpful and delicious coffee. I did find it very unprofessional for the supervisor to interrupt the cashier waiting on me to go over the shift schedule with him. So rude! She couldn't wait a few minutes to talk to him about something so unrelated to what he was doing with me?!! Then I had to wait for her to finish going over the schedule and then she chirps at him to finish with his customer. Wow, unbelievable! No fault of the cashiers at all! We came to this location this morning as they advertised being open 24 hours. He charge me $6 for a hot chocolate that I assumed was going to be steamed milk but turned out to be a powder packet and hot water. When I questioned the cashier about why it's not made with steamed milk he said he could make it with steamed milk. This after telling my friend that the espresso machine was broken and he couldn't make her a macchiato. So is it broken or not??? Lesson learned.. none of us will ever return!!! It's 24 hours open, makes it really convenient if you are staying in Grand spa hotel, a few variety of sweets but they did not get a higher rating due to the dirty fans for years of observing this and mosquitos inside the shop. The flavored coffee selection is amazing ranging from a normal mocha coffee to a sweet "Pink Lady" (cherry and vanilla). You can choose from served hot, iced, or frozen. They also have a nice smoothie selection (very tasty). They do run a bit more expensive than Starbuck's and the foreign summer staff don't seem to be very friendly if you come later in the day. There is no AC, so be prepared if you're looking for an escape from the summer heat.
